Deluxe Town House in the Heart of Chiang Mai's Old City

This 1280 sq foot apartment is located only a two minute stroll from Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai's most important temple. This area located at the heart of the moated Old City of Chiang Mai is the hub of Chiang Mai's vibrant tourist area's. The famous Sunday Walking Street market, by far the largest market in Chiang Mai, is a few minutes walk from this property. This area has literally hundreds of shops, restaurants, bars and massage spa's. Despite being a gentle stroll from everything the apartment is situated in a small quiet Soi with no through traffic. Completed in October 2016 we have provided every possible luxury to make your vacation property the best in Chiang Mai. This is the first floor of this two apartment building with one piece full length glass windows across both the sitting room and kitchen. The apartment is reached through electronic twin sliding glass doors with magnetic locks and a security keypad. The huge open plan sitting room, kitchen and dining room has polished concrete floors, leather, super comfy sofa's, chairs and Lazyboys. The entertainment centre covers one wall and includes a top of the range, internet ready, 55 inch curved screen TV preloaded with hundreds of the latest movies, documentaries about Chiang Mai and programmes for the children. The window blinds are electronically operated and the kitchen is state of the art and comes equipped with pretty much everything from rice cookers to the newest most modern expresso machine. All the rooms in this property have Daikin air conditioning units. The master bedroom has comfy beds, an ensuite and a separate sitting area with leather sofa's and a TV. The second bedroom has great beds too and a really clever shower in the en-suite. We work really hard to make sure you have the best vacation and if you stay with us you will.

Chiang Mai Suites---Must be the best home to rent in Chiang Mai

If you are looking for a place to rent, this is the place for sure. Comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, and a technical wonderland. And it's in a great location. Close to the sites, yet on a quiet street. My daughter and I stayed there for six nights and could not believe our luck. Two bedrooms (one of them is massive with its own sitting area), two bathrooms, a nice little living room, and a wonderful kitchen. We really appreciated having our own bedroom and bathroom. After each day exploring the city and its surroundings, it was a great place to come home to in the evening. Thanks, Charles.

Superb accommodations and even better host

I cannot say enough good things about this townhouse and about Charles's hospitality and professionalism. Upon entering the townhouse, it is immediately clear that Charles took painstaking time and effort to make sure that his townhouse was welcoming to guests with not only the comfortable furnishings but also the state of the art appliances (he has a milk frother for coffee!) and entertainment options. When you are not exploring Chang Mai, it is a pleasure to lounge in this townhouse. There are so many movies and shows downloaded on the TV that some days, my kids did not want to leave the townhouse. After Charles picked us up from the airport, he gave us a rundown on great things to do in the city for families. When we got to the townhouse, there is a thick, but organized, book of things to do in the city that is essential for laying out your game plan in exploring Chiang Mai. Charles has honest reviews of different activities as well as unbiased picks on which companies to use for which excursions. Charles will also book any tour or excursion you'd like at no extra cost to you. He went out of his way to find a cooking class suited to my vegetarian and allergy prone family. For me, they're real clincher in knowing that we picked a top level place with an A+ host was when I hurt myself white water rafting and I called Charles to find out which hospital to go to and he immediately drove to the house to drive me to the hospital. He also stayed the entire time I was there. Seriously, I don't have that many friends that would've done the same. If you are looking to stay in Chiang Mai and immediately know what to do in the city, you have to stay here. If you are looking to stay in a place with full, personalized concierge services, you have to stay here. I was extremely impressed with the place and with Charles and will recommend both to my friends and family who visit Chang Mai.

Superb unit, great host and outstanding location

Stayed for only two nights thru New Year's in this terrific unit in an outstanding location in the Old City of Chiang Mai. As mentioned by other reviewers, Charles in a great host, full of information and recommendations and very easy to communicate with. We took advantage of the Elephant Sanctuary tour as well as the dawn visit to Doi Suthep, both of which were truly magical experiences. The unit itself is clean, modern and well appointed. We loved the location, as well as the comprehensive information book with a number of local restaurant recommendations, which we took to heart. Our only regret is that we did not budget more time here, but hope to make it back in the future!

Perfect location for a Chiang Mai visit

We were in Chiang Mai for 4 nights, and staying in this property made Chiang Mai our favourite destination in Thailand. Our host, Charles, was brilliant from beginning to end. From the airport pickup to the airport drop off, Charles gave us 5-star service. We needed a pool to swim in and he collected us to take us to his other (also 5-star) property to enjoy his rooftop pool. He organized the highlight of our trip, the Jungle Elephant Sanctuary where the elephants are treated humanely. He even arranged for our children to be watched while we went out to enjoy the local music blues and jazz scene (excellent!). The property is in old city Chiang Mai, just behind the Wat Phra Singh temple, and a quick walk away from the excellent S.P. Chicken (a must visit). It's also close enough to the Sunday walking market to walk to and from. Everything else is a rapid Grab (the local and excellent Thai Uber-like service) or tuktuk ride away. It was equipped with all the equipment we needed, from a washing machine to a coffee maker and dishwasher. If we ever visit Chiang Mai again, we'll be sure to stay in one of Charles' properties. They're we'll worth it!

Fantastic Place to Stay in Chiang Mai

We stayed with our two teenage daughters at this apartment for six days. The apartment and the experience with the owner, Charles, exceeded our expectations in every respect. Charles was very timely with communications, but most of all he was an invaluable resource for recommendations relating to our vacation, e.g., reputable tour guides, restaurants, things to do, things to avoid. Charles is a long-time resident of Chiang Mai and every recommendation he gave us was accurate and helpful. In short, renting this apartment made our time in Chiang Mai so much better than we expected because of Charles and his personal touch (not at all invasive, but always ready for help and recommendations). The apartment itself was also better than the photos suggest. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is ready for any cook, and the location is amazing. Beautiful temple grounds are steps away, as are multiple restaurants, convenience stores, shops, massage options and great walking. Important to us was the feeling of living in a true Chiang Mai neighborhood while feeling completely safe. Chiang Mail was the highlight of our trip to Thailand and we hope to return. If we do, we will stay again with Charles and we will recommend this apartment without hesitation to our family and friends. 5+

Great location and wonderful host

Charles was amazing from picking us up at train and dropping us at airport and arranging activities in between. He is quick to respond and has connections to make last minute a reservations. The house is in a great location in the old city - just behind one of the most significant t temples. It was easy to walk anywhere within the old city and the taxis and tuk tuks wait just outside the temple to take you to further destinations. I would highly recommend staying at any of Charles’ Chiang Mai Suites locations.

Great location, modern conveniences, some quirks

Modern clean spacious apartment with all the amenities including full kitchen, espresso maker, dishwasher and washing machine. Charles was very helpful and brought water, coffee and dishwasher detergent. The weekly cleaning of the apartment was immaculate. It has a great location near Wat Phra Singh, the primary attraction in the old town. Charles provides an extensive and helpful binder of local information including restaurants, Thai food, attractions, tours etc. A few design quirks emerged during our 2+ week stay. The second bedroom has no window, the two showers are open style with no shower partition so the entire bathroom floors gets wet during a shower, the master bathroom being completely open to the bedroom. The air conditioner in the master bedroom blows directly onto the bed. The kitchen cabinets are too high to be able to reach even the second of 3 shelves (no step stool provided) and the dining room chairs are too low for the table.

Absolutely perfect in every way!

I really don’t want to tell you that this property is perfect but... it is. If I post that it’s beautifully appointed with every amenity you could ever want, that Charles is absolutely delightful, attentive, meticulous, and incredibly knowledgeable- it might mean that I’ll have to beg or bribe another reservation because there won’t be another opening until the next millennium. We stayed 12 marvelous days. This location in the old city is near everything. Try Makkha Spa a two minute walk to a piece of heaven. Fern Forrest an easy 5 minute Red Truck ride for amazing breakfast in an oasis garden setting. Forgot to mention that this property is very quiet and I did not hear any street noise at all! Charles you are absolutely THE best - thank you for everything - especially the passion fruit jam! Hope to see you again next year!

Loved it! Charles is a great host. There is a book in the room with everything you ever needed to know. The place is beautiful and in a great location. Only thing I didn't like was the beds are very hard...but that might just be Thailand. Thank you Charles for everything.

Wonderful condo in heart of the city, great landlord

This condo was amazing. The furnishings were all in great shape, lots of appliances, US adaptable plugs, and an awesome master bath. It’s in the heart of the old town, so you can walk to everything or just take a tuk tuk. The landlord was incredible, he picked us up and dropped us off at the airport and checked in on us the day after we arrived to see if we needed anything. He also helped us set up personalized tours for us when we wanted to go places. This was a great house and wonderful stay in Chiang Mai.

Excellent Host, Location and property

Let me begin with our Host, Charles. He was extremely accommodating, personable and professional. He really didn't have to drive us to the Le Crystal restaurant and bottleshop but did! Charles made certain we were happy and did all he could to make sure that we got everything we asked for. Charles, you are welcome to look us up anytime you are in Singapore - If you don't mind our company you are most welcome to stay with us. The Location is fantastic. The property is located within walking distance of everything and if you didn't feel like it there were tuk tuks nearby. Easy. The 2 bedroom apartment was comfortable and had all the conveniences of a real home. I would it find it difficult to point out a negative... the open bathroom concept in the ensuite is not a favourite but then again, that is more of a personal thing. I'm sure my husband thinks otherwise. Overall, we had a great time in Chiang Mai and i truly believe that Charles and where we stayed played a big part of it. Thanks.

Everything in this house was like we expected it from the detailed description given by the owner. Communication before booking and before our arrival was very fast, mostly within minutes, and no questions were left unanswered. Gem in great location

There are many pluses in choosing the Townhouse in Chiang Mai. The first is receiving the benefit of having a conscientious host responding in a timely fashion. Charles Raynor-Thompson, who manages this rental, always responded to your questions honestly, directly and gave good advice, including tours and restaurants. He even mentioned that every so often he attends some of the tours to ensure that the quality he endorses remains high. There is a guide book with recommendations based on the type of tour and restaurant cuisine located in the rental location. Another benefit is the location of the condominium in the old central part of town, within walking distance or a short tuk tuk ride to most well rated restaurants. Even if your restaurant is not close, we were fortunate enough to choose a fine dining restaurant that sent a car to pick us up. As mentioned, Charles is a consummate host because he adds the additional benefit of picking you up and dropping you off at the airport. When I mentioned that I was thinking of purchasing some wine for my spouse, he offered to give me a ride. He surprised me by even allowing me to take the time to purchase some food items as the wine shop was part of the supermarket and because he also had some shopping to do. The condominium itself has virtually everything a person needs to cook as little or as much as one desires. There is a modern and full stove with glass stovetop and range hood, a small freezer and refrigerator. Small appliances included an iron, blender, even an Delonghi expresso maker with some coffee supplied and a grinder. The electrical plugs are universal for recharging your electronic devices. There is a hair dryer for each of the two bathrooms. The townhouse is well taken care of and clean. As mentioned in previous reviews, there are several hundred movies to choose from on the large HDTV, with some recent ones available, and the channel listings can be changed to English or Thai, with some included Korean and Chinese channels. We had a very enjoyable stay and would return. We would easily recommend this choice.

Charles has it all covered. Beautiful town home with every amenity possible!! He even leaves a loaded cell phone for use. Close walking distance to a lot of great eating and sites! Right next to a temple and SP chicken! Easy to grab a ride anywhere! Love that Charles gets you to and from the airport! Local neighbors very friendly. Invited us for a beer one night! Highly recommend staying here.

GORGEOUS stay with lots of amenities!!!

This apartment and Charles as host are a case study in how to do "rent by owner"!!! The pictures are actually not as good as the apartment really is. Everything is beautifully appointed and super clean. The apartment has state of the art appliances and electronics with high speed wifi and even a cell phone you can use while in town. Charles personally picked us up at the airport and gave us a quick highlight tour on the way to the apartment with lots of helpful tips and places to see. In addition, the apartment has a guest book with lots of information about the area, things to do and places to eat. Another really nice touch. The apartment is conveniently located in the Old City and you can easily walk or take a tuk tuk anywhere you need to go. There's also really no need to leave the Old City unless you're taking a tour or going to the mountains so I highly recommend the Old City. I cannot say enough good things about this place or our experience while staying there. If you have a chance rent this apartment or ask Charles about one of his other properties. You will not be disappointed.

This is such a nice condo. Very comfortable beds. Easy to walk places or take a songtaew. This was a great place to spend time with our son who lives in Thailand teaching English. All the comforts of home we made breakfast and coffee everyday. Highly recommend

“The beautiful art work is but one of the features of this luxurious condo”

Spent a week in splendor at this luxurious abode. It is stunningly beautiful and the master suite alone is worth a magazine article. The location is close to the center of the walled city, right in back of Wat Phra Singh. We really appreciated the customer service by Charles who picked us up and made us feel at home.
