Nestled in a quiet little pocket in the quaint township of Malmsbury sits this unique accommodation. It offers a 2 bedroom escape with lovely open plan kitchen and living area, luxurious bathroom, with French doors that open out to a lovely Alfresco dining area. The landscaped gardens and trees also create an additional aspect. The Wood fireplace creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere in the cooler months, making it a perfect place to just relax and unwind. Summer time offers a cool air-conditioned space to escape the heat.
Comfortable Queen size bed in the main bedroom and a double/single bunk in the second bedroom allows it to sleep up to 4 adults, with the option of a 5th being a child for the top bunk.
About the home
The house is constructed using lovely old salvaged timber trusses, together with unique arched windows, of which were imported from Italy and salvaged from an old Villa. Travertine stone covers the main living area and bathroom floors, with high quality wool carpet in the bedrooms. It boasts a very rustic charm with all contemporary conveniences. The home is a blend of old and new with a soft palette creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.
Outside, we have used local Castlemaine stone on the pillars and water ponds, and the garden is established and passionately maintained. It sits amongst a private 10acre property, offering privacy and serenity. The north facing Alfresco area can be enjoyed day or night. Read a book on one of the many little garden benches tucked away in various pockets of the garden.
Features
The kitchen/living area features large open space with great wood fire, large farmhouse style dining table and comfy leather sofa and lounge chairs in front of the fire. Lots of natural light fills the rooms, with all windows looking out to picturesque garden views. It also features a lovely little reading corner to unwind with a good book.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with large double freestanding cooker, which may entice a keen chef to cook up a country cooked meal made with produce bought from one of the locally held farmers markets. Nespresso coffee machine, farmhouse style sink and concrete benches and microwave are all features of the kitchen.
The Main bedroom offers a comfortable queen size bed with lovely linen bedding. High Quality sheets, pillows and quilts are all supplied. Electric blankets are also on the beds if required. The second bedroom offers the same quality linen and pillows with a double bed and a single bed bunk arrangement in that room. The bathroom is a luxury escape featuring a deep modern freestanding bath. Travertine stone in the shower and a lovely brick feature wall all add to the charm. Quality bathroom products are all at your disposal to enhance the relaxing atmosphere. Underfloor heating in the bathroom complete the picture.
Only 10 minutes walk to the township of Malmsbury, you can experience the local living and fresh country air. With a short 10 minute drive you can be in Kyneton, 15mins to Castlemaine and only 20 minutes drive and you’ll be in the famous township of Daylesford, just to mention a few.

The property was absolutely stunning!! And the inside was so beautiful, had so kuch European rustic vibes. We got a few pree wedding photos here after asking the host. Will definitely stay here again in future
Exquisite cottage! From the moment you pull up you are indulged in a little bit of rural France.
Comfortable beds, lush bathroom, breakfast supplies are abundant. A delightful place to just sit and enjoy the interior and exterior of this cottage.
It won't disappoint.
We couldn't have asked for more staying The Timber and Stone Retreat. It was just what we needed for our mid winter escape. One of the few places that we have stayed over the years where we would be more than happy to return to. Ticked all the boxes.

Thankyou for the lovely Compliment Dorothy, it is most valued. We also really appreciate you taking the time to comment. kind regards Vanessa
What an amazing property, the house looks like it was picked up from the Tuscan region of Italy and placed at Malmsbury. The views outside while I sat in the rattan chair in front of the fireplace, were healing to the soul. You can immerse yourself here, the gardens are beautiful. Thanks, Vanessa, for sharing this gem and the beautiful breakfast basket, it topped our stay.
We may as well have been in an estate house in the French countryside. The ambiance was perfect. We never left the property. PS No sound system so we brought our own.
Thank you Vanessa for our stay in your French Farm House inspired home. It reminded us of our time in Provence. The food supplies was unexpected but very much enjoyed. Good location for our Macedon Ranges escape. Thank you ... David & Terri
Property is just so easy to relax and enjoy. The host Vanessa even surprised me with a breakfast hamper with like EVERYTHING. There are also two really cute cows on the property. Check-in was a breeze. It’s nice and quiet locationally. Easy to lull into country vibes. It’s a lovely abode and Vanessa put gorgeous pink roses in like, every room. Amazing bathroom, have a hot bath! I really don’t have ANY complaints. If there’s a next time I would love to bring someone along to enjoy it with me! I danced with the music blaring, and just loved every bit of my time there. Thanks Vanessa. the host.

Thankyou for such a lovely review Connie. We love it when our guests enjoy themselves. It is our aim to provide a tranquil and comfy place to relax and it sounds like you did just that. Thankyou kindly for booking in with us!
Just beautiful. Really relaxed here even having cooked breakfast and laying on blanket outside for hours just flicking through provided books.
Bed was comfy. Bath was lovely.
Hooks in bathroom would be helpful for towels and esp hand towel.
Cupboard door under bathroom sink broken. A mirror somewhere else in house would be helpful. We had a wedding to get ready f and also wardrobe would be good. We absolutely loved it here though. We’ll come back
Spacious, atmospheric, cosy cottage with all modern amenities for cooking & relaxing. Generous breakfast provisions are provided. Delightful garden to wonder about. Privately located on a large block. The host communicates promptly & was very attentive. Thoroughly recommend this stay.

This was my second stay @Timberandstoneretreat, this time Girls weekend away to relax, recharge & reconnect. Venue stunning, styled to perfection. Our host Vanessa so accommodating-wish we could give her 10 Stars. Will definitely be booking again
We had a beautiful weekend. Loved the retreat and all its
Little offerings. Beautifully thought out and attention to detail was fantastic. The breakfast hamper was an amazing surprise too. Thankyou for great communication leading up to the stay also. We’ll be back very soon. Cheers
Meticulously styled, fabulous attention to detail. Weather was ferociously chilly outside, but house was toasty warm the whole weekend. Will definitely be back.
