"Shanti by the Sea" is a self-catering holiday beach house on the magnificent Fleurieu Peninsula coast. This 3-bedroom townhouse is located only minutes from the McLaren Vale Wine Region, drive-on beaches around Aldinga, Sellicks & Moana and the pristine sheltered bay of Port Willunga. Beach access is a short 5-minute walk to the Star of Greece restaurant.
Choose your holiday fun all year round - the day on the beach, wine tasting throughout McLaren Vale or venturing further to experience what the Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer. The property features a large covered front deck overlooking the Bay for guests to enjoy the spectacular sunsets and panoramic sea views. An open plan living area has reverse cycle air conditioning and ceiling fans with wall-mounted TV and 2 x 3-seater lounges. The property has been updated, incorporating a bright seaside decor to the interior with a secure rear garden and lawn to provide a cool haven during hotter days and includes a large, covered pergola area for outdoor relaxation.

Upstairs: Fully equipped kitchen with oven/stove, microwave & dishwasher. Open plan living area with colour TV, CD player and a selection of books and board games. Bedroom 1 with Queen bed and ensuite shower / toilet. Spacious fully covered deck with outdoor furniture, BBQ and stunning sea views.
Downstairs: Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed and walk-in robe. Bedroom 3 - Double bed. 2nd , renovated bathroom with shower, toilet & washing machine. Rear secure yard with pergola, lawn area, clothesline & enclosed outdoor shower.
LINEN & BEDDING (provided only for the number of guests booked): Beds are made comfy just for you and have mattress protectors, doonas with covers, pillows with pillowcases, and top and bottom sheets. Spare blankets are also provided for colder nights (electric blankets in winter). Linen supply also includes bath towels, hand towels, bathmats and tea towels. Guests will need to provide their own beach towels. FUNCTIONS/GATHERINGS We really love seeing our guests enjoy their time at the property, however we do have a STRICT NO PARTY POLICY and is not available for functions of any kind, including wedding events such as bucks and hens' nights or birthday/celebration gatherings. Only guests are to be on the property at anytime, any visitors must be lodged with the property owners or will be deemed as extra guests.
RUBBISH: Guests can use the waste and recycle bins provided to dispose of their waste on vacating but are required to follow certain house rules. Excessive waste unable to be placed in bins must be removed from the property to avoid dumping fees.
PETS: We have a STRICT NO-PETS policy.
RATES & MINIMUM STAYS: Rates vary based on seasonality and weeknight. Minimum stays are generally two (2) nights with the following exceptions: Long weekends minimum three (3) nights Easter minimum four (4) nights December & January bookings minimum three (5) nights but with some seven (7) night minimum periods during peak holiday periods. Exceptions may be negotiated with all booking days and times considered depending on availability and season times.
Amenities Note: We are a holiday house rental, not an Air BnB that offers a level of guest catering and provisions. As such, guests should be prepared to bring any essentials not specifically listed, such as perishable foodstuffs (including milk), personal toiletries such shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste, or washing machine powder. We are always happy to answer any queries if you are unsure.

Weekend getaway
Beautiful spot and enjoyed the accommodations. There were some challenges with entering the rental due to a catchy lock and inability of the property owners to communicate with people who did not have a local mobile number address.

Yes our ensuite bathroom is small but the second bathroom downstairs has a large shower, vanity and heater.
Just to clarify, only the smaller 3rd bedroom has a double bed as is advertised with the 2 main bedrooms having queen beds. Regards Daryl & Cate
Best mate and I took our wives away for the weekend, we planned everything as a special treat given they normally handle such matters. We and they were very pleased with the condition and location of the property, pleasingly the weather was kind to us so we were able to maximise our time on the balcony soaking up the sea view over a glass or 2 of wine.

What an awesome story...
So great you got to spend time soaking up the views and sunsets.
I had to ask the owner for my adult son and daughter in law to come for dinner one night. Turns out visitors are not allowed. This goes against going to a holiday house. It's always been a place where family or friends can come for a responsible get together.I also had to ask her for permission for my bichon frise to stay too. The balcony wasn't safe for a dog. I also had to pay a 300 bond and 80 fee for my dog to stay.For these reasons I will be going through Petlet next time.

Dianna we are surprised by your feedback . We dont actually allow pets only by negotiation as mentioned in our conditions of hire. However we made an acception after you approached us.
We also make it very clear at the time of booking that the house is for guest use only. However we did give permission to have family over one night.
You were very happy to pay a pet bond and accepted our conditions without hesitation.
We even went out of our way to drop off your pet bowl .
We did our very best to make tour stay comfortable.
It was a great stay. The house is in a good location. Ten minutes walk to Port Willunga Beach and the Star of Greece restaurant.
The house is very cute but could use a lick of paint in some rooms. It's a lot of money but I guess you're paying for the view which is spectacular.
An 11 o clock check out would be an improvement. 10 is very early to be up and out especially if you have only been there for two nights.
Excellent location walking distance to Star of Greece for dinner and morning coffees.
Smooth from the original booking, check in and out and instructions on how to leave the property were clear. Nice little touches like knee rugs and ground coffee.
Beautiful views in an excellent location. Easy check in and an easy stay.

Lovely views but questionable value
The location is fabulous but the property looks a lot nicer online, it’s very small and be sure to let the owner know well in advance who is coming or you’ll get charged extra for last minute changes without notification until after your stay. When paying peak season rates you’d think 6 people could stay in a house that states it sleeps 7. Read the T & C’s thoroughly cause they certainly don’t bend at all. Although it states one dog allowed there’s a charge for that too. Lesson learnt my end.

Thanks for the feedback all of which is valued. Upon booking all T&Cs, costs and information are provided with drop down list selection to add pets which wasn’t applied at time of booking. Final guest numbers weren’t confirmed until morning of check in and the pet wasn’t disclosed at all. We base our rates on those of comparable properties and this time of year is peak with demand high. Most of the extra cost was that which would have automatically been applied had the extra guests and pet been added when booking and the only additional cost was a small fee charged for the extra cleaning we incurred due to excessive pet hair and being left overly dirty.
All communication with the hosts was fast and reliable. Check in was an easy process. The house was in a great location with amazing views from the deck! Very tidy inside and out! Would love to visit this area again :)
