Whitelodge is a quintessential luxury beach house just 100 metres from an award winning beach. No roads to cross. It has been lovingly restored with high end finishes and furniture and gorgeous interior design to create the nostalgia and romance of wonderful seaside holidays. If you are looking for a truly beautiful place to stay then look no further.
The house is very safe and perfect for families with children, couples sharing, extended families or just people seeking some luxury.
Cool, bright and airy in summer, warm, cosy and indulgent in winter.
There are 2 short tracks to the beach either side of the property.
'Whitelodge" beach house is superbly located to provide many fantastic holiday options. Located on Port Phillip Bay, walking distance and easy access to parks, shops, restaurants and many leisure activities, 50 mins from Melbourne CBD and at the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula.
The house has 3 queen bedrooms and a large oversized bunk which could sleep 2 children. Kids LOVE this bunk.
There is also a porta cot, stroller, high chair and some toys, books and games and DVDs. Plenty of beautiful books for the adults to read.
Hairdryers and hand soaps are supplied, as are all laundry and dishwashing needs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware and appliances including coffee grinder, coffee machine and milk frother, essential pantry items (well stocked) and outdoor BBQ facilities to delight any passionate cook.
We work with a private chef Mark, who will come to the house and cater to any of your needs, and he’s fabulous. No preparation, no cooking, no cleanup and no one has to drive! Comparable to restaurant prices, just ask and we will put you in touch with chef Mark to discuss your requirements and give you a quote. As a price guide expect around $125pp for a 3 course dinner.
All linen is supplied and is clean, crisp and good quality. the bathrooms are dreamy and the furniture offers the
utmost in comfort. All the bedrooms are beautiful, BUT you will fight over the back room which allows you to listen to the sea and the birds with the French doors open on a warm night.
The private outdoor entertaining area is undercover, the table extends to seat 10 and works well day and night. The olive trees and grapevines provide a perfect shaded area to sit on hot days with your feet on the cool grass.
There are 2 TV/lounge zones both equipped with foxtel, DVD player and some DVDs, unlimited free WiFi, and Bluetooth sound system.
The driveway will take 2-3 cars or 1car and a boat. The boat launch ramp is about 1km away.
There is an electric gate with remote and a password and the keysafe is onsite also with password which you will be given prior to arrival.
Your host will only be there if you need him!
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Long Island is the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula and all the delights this region has to offer. World class wineries, gourmet food and artisan producers, outdoor activities far too numerous to mention.
For children, the house is ideal. There is a fantastic adventure playground a short walk away, the house and garden are secure and safe for little ones and the beach is also close, safe and no roads to cross.
There are several cafes within a short walk for breakfast or lunch, dog and child friendly!
Spend a day at the Peninsula Hot Springs, winner of the "Best Tourist Attraction" for the third year in a row
Paringa Winery has just won an award for the "Best winery restaurant in Australia"
Or jump on the train and spend the day in the amazing city of Melbourne for the art, culture, unparalleled food, shopping and the best sporting events and venues in the country.
A day trip to popular Phillip Island to see the penguins is easy, or a ferry ride across the bay from Sorrento to Queenscliff and the chance to see Dolphins is another great day out.
Or..... simply spend the day at the beach swimming in crystal clear waters and stroll back after sundown. Wash off the sand and salt in the superb outdoor bathroom and relax with good food and wine in the out door BBQ entertaining area.
BUT...the most splendid of all are the walks along the beach. Enjoy morning coffee at the beachfront kiosk or dine in the beach restaurant and stroll (or roll) home along the beach.
Both the front and back of the house are air conditioned and a state of the art hydronic heating system will keep you cosy in the cooler months. The log fire is luxurious in winter and firewood is supplied. Also the house is wheelchair friendly, on flat land and has no more than one step throughout for those with limited mobility.
Getting around ...Walking distance to EVERYTHING
WALK TO THE FOLLOWING-

We have found Uber to be fast and reliable in the area, taxis a second option. Train station a 10 minute walk.

About the host
Hosted by Nicholas Grigg

Purchased as an original 1950s beach shack, we worked hard over several years to renovate and restore Whitelodge to become a cosy, nostalgic beach house providing families with unforgettable holidays at the beach.
Nic owns and runs a successful Hydronic Heating company and has a passion for renovating, restoring old junk into contemporary treasure and entertaining friends and family. Inviting others to share our property allows us to enjoy the house ourselves and provides future lifestyle retirement options.
Nic also recently built a property in Sassafras, Dandenong Ranges,” Whitelodge Mountain Retreat.”
We hope that guest respect the love and passion we have put into the house and sincerely hope our guests enjoy the house and location as much as we do.
