The accommodation is in a great location, the views are spectacular. Niel is a great host, he provided us with eggs, freshly cooked bread and showed my adult sons and their partners the farm and talked about the animals. Definitely a great place for a relaxing break away from the City.
A beautiful property, if you're looking for somewhere quiet to slow down with Breathtaking views, warm and friendly people and nature all around. Visit this farmstay.
Comfortable, spacious and well-equipped cottage set in the stunning Capertee Valley.
Neil and Lesley were friendly hosts who delighted us with tours of their small farm. The children loved “helping” with ducks and chooks.
Just needed a few days to disconnect and couldn’t have found a more perfect location to do just that. The view was spectacular from the deck and the night sky was perfect and full of stars! The extra touches made is super special and I can’t wait to go back already!
A delightful weekend in an incredibly beautiful environment! House was spotless and extremely comfortable, hosts were friendly, helpful and generous! A bit if birding, a bit of walking and a bit of venturing to nearby towns. Dining on the deck as the sun went down on this stunning valley was an absolute highlight.
Highest recommendation possible for this Location, accommodation and hosts.
A lovely stay at Neil’s property. The house was well set up with everything we needed. Lovely coffee and market near by. The national park is beautiful and has options for walks and exploring. Neil and Lesley were wonderful hosts, showing the kids the animals and giving us lots of information about the area. They even spoilt us with some delicious bread and preserves they made, a very relaxing stay!
What a great place! The view of the mountains will take your breath away. Neil was a great host and we learned many things about all the animals, which our 7yo loved. This is a great getaway if you want to walk everywhere. There's lots to do and it's also a great place to do nothing. Highly recommend!
A lovely place to catch up with family and friends. We had a glass of wine looking out over the amazing valley with those spectacular cliffs. Although cold outside, our house was cosy with plenty of space. It was perfect to read a book, chat and laugh. Everything you need.
Great place to stay for our family of four, our two city kids (5-7years) loved waking the ducks and checking for henhouse for chicken eggs every morning. We arrived to freshly baked bread from Neil, and a spectacular view of the mountains especially at sunset - the colour of the sky was magnificent! We fed the sheep, goats and alpaca, and walked to the dam. Coffee from the local cafe down the road was handy, and the soccer table was a huge hit!
We were two families travelling with teens and a dog. Had a lovely time to connect with each other at the farm. Totally enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and tranquility of the place. Neil was very helpful and knowledgeable on information before and during our stay. The kennel was very handy to keep our dog safe during our day walk in the national park. We've enjoyed breakfast on the verandah overlooking the misty valley and evening around the fire pit toasting marshmallows and stargazing.
This cottage is a treasure! Set in the stunning scenery of the Capertee valley, the cottage is perfectly set up for a comfortable stay for 4 adults plus kids, although it was just 2 of us. The wood fireplace really heats the whole house well and everything is very well set up for a self-catered stay. Our host Neil was great and made sure we settled in well and gave excellent tips for things to do in the area. We were keen to see the many beautiful birds in the area and many were seen on the property. Highly recommend this farmstay and we hope to be back!
The location is very easy to find, the host are amazing! The stay itself is one of those unforgettable experience.
We definitely came at the wrong time of the year as this place has a lot more to offer in colder weather. The view is just mesmerising. All of us enjoyed our time spend here being spoilt by the music choices, books, board games and the spacious backyard with fire pit.
Also, Neil's (or is it Lesley's?) thyme and rosemary bread.. is SO SO GOOD
A quick two night stay to get the kids out in the fresh country air. The host Neil is amazing and friendly and happily showed the kids around his animals. He even went so far as to help them set up a trap in the dam to catch yabbies.
Perfect escape away with the bonus of very little mobile reception so you can really leave the world behind you…
The host gave us a warm welcome, offering a tour of the farm alongside freshly baked bread and sparkling wine. Niel introduced us to his lovable farm animals: General the alpaca, sheep with their sweet newborn lambs, chickens, and geese. He also provided us with scenic walking trails and recommendations for nearby attractions. We were captivated by the stunning sunset and enjoyed roasting marshmallows over a bonfire. As night fell, the starry sky amazed us with its brilliance. It was an extraordinary experience, and we eagerly await the chance to return. Thank you, Niel and Lesley, for your wonderful hospitality!
We stayed for 3 nights as a quick little change of scenery from the city and we’re more than happy with our choice. The cottage is a lovely, charming, rustic and cosy. The beds were comfy, the fireplace was wonderful, the bookcases well stocked with books and games and dvds. Neil the host was very friendly and brought us a freshly baked loaf of bread and took us around the farm to gather eggs and feed the animals. We were very lucky because several lambs had just been born which was cuteness overload. It is a great place for winding down and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Lovely house with a wonderful fireplace and views across the vallley.
Host Neil is a champion taking the young boys to feed the ducks, grab eggs from the chickens, chat with the sheep and Alpaca. It was fab to see two 14 year old boys wanting to be outside and learning a little about life on a farm.
Neil also makes a mean fresh bread loaf.
If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway then this is your place to stay.
Thanks Neil we had a lovely time.
Cheers Scott
A jaw-dropping view with comfortable accommodation to match
My family of 6 (2 adults, 3 children 7-to12, 1 labrador) had the privilege to stay here over the Easter long weekend. The standalone house was very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need available to you. The views surrounding us were amazing and took up a lot of our time just admiring them. The farm had plenty of animals to keep our youngest excited and our gracious host Neil was more than happy to take the time to talk to us and even help us set up for our premier attempt at woodfired pizzas in the on-site pizza oven. We had a wonderful time and hope we get a chance to get back there in the future.
Glenbrook ticked all the boxes for us! Stunning
location just a few hours drive. Loved the " modern rustic "simplicity of the cottage which was really well set up for small or large groups. Perfect for our border Collie who loved roaming around the large enclosed yard and longer walks around the property.
Neil and Lesley were very generous with their time in chatting to us about their flock and chickens and showing us to use the pizza oven near their cottage. Neil's famous bread was a hit especially after we realised we left the pizza bases at home!
Only good things to say about our time here - we can't wait to come back.
This is a great property.
It is comfortably furnished, the kitchen is well stocked and sitting on the Veranda in the evening looking at the cliffs is pure delight.
Neil is a great host and was very accommodating to our needs. His bread needs no further recommendation and was wolfed down while still warm.
We had a great day kayaking and hiking at Ganguddy/Dunns swamp. Neil also directed us to a nearby water hole, where a swim in the river was greatly appreciated in the January heat.
For birders, the whole area was amazing, but the best and most reliable spot was the bush behind the Glen Alice community hall.
I would recommend this property
