Flame Trees - Hydeaway/Hideaway Bay

Flame Trees is a modern beachfront home in the tranquil spot of Hydeaway/Hideaway Bay, the Whitsundays, Queensland.

The home is fortunate enough to have direct access to Whitsunday beachfront, with some glimpses of the ocean through the trees on Crown Land.

The beautiful home is spacious and well designed for the tropics. The large stacker doors open up from the living area to the private deck outside which is undercover, over looking the stunning luxurious concrete pool. There is a BBQ and bar fridge located on the deck for your use and convenience.

The kitchen is well appointed with everything accessible at hands reach. It has a breakfast bar, dishwasher, gas cooking, oven with the essentials for you. The living area and all bedrooms are fitted with air conditioning and ceiling fans for your comfort.

Bedroom 1 has a king bed, ensuite and walk in robe with a pool view. Down the hallway is the other bedroom, also with a pool view and a queen bed. The bathroom is along the hallway and has a separate toilet. The laundry is downstairs and available for your use, which is located in front of the carport parking area.

Walk over our bridge, through the trees on Crown Land to the beach, sit with a morning coffee or of a late afternoon with a beer or glass of wine in hand. If you take a stroll along the beach you may be able to spot turtles, fish or a ray in the ocean. The colour of the ocean is just amazing & it's perfect for boating, fishing, kayaking & snorkelling.

Approximately 10 minutes drive north from the house, you will come to two resorts Cape Gloucester Resort is the main one and Montes Reef Resort. We recommend you check their websites for their opening times. Cape Gloucester is renowned for their cocktails, food, atmosphere and picturesque sunsets. Nearby, Dingo Beach Pub is great for a social drink, pub meal and live music. There is a small convenience store at both Hydeaway Bay Caravan Park and Dingo Beach Store. So fly into Proserpine Airport, hire a car and be on your way to the beautiful hidden location of Hydeaway/Hideaway Bay. With Airlie Beach approximately a 40 minute drive away, you can easily access the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef for day trips and other fun activities. Be sure to visit one of the worlds best beaches whilst in the Whitsundays - Whitehaven Beach.

Relaxing stay in Hideaway Bay

We loved our stay in Hideaway Bay! Very relaxing and a remote getaway. The house was just as described. Very clean and has everything you need for a family getaway. Check-in was very easy.

Although off season weather in late February was nice...just one squall. Big place especially for just two. Easily accommodates 6. Well equipped including coffee, condiments and more. Direct access to beach. Would be nice to have wifi.

We really enjoyed our stay at Flame Trees. It was clean, well appointed, comfortable and spacious with a gorgeous pool. The location was great for relaxing, fishing and hanging out with family.

Perfect place to stay in paradise

Flame Trees was the perfect accommodation for us to enjoy Hydeaway Bay and all it has to offer. The house was beautiful and the the kids loved the pool, the back deck felt so private, it was the perfect place to unwind after a big morning out fishing. “Flame Trees” is our favourite songs so we really loved the the subtle nods to the song in the house. We felt very welcome and at home at Flame Trees and can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us

Hidewaway Bay - True to it's name!

Absolutely loved the property, my husband & baby totally enjoyed our honeymoon stay & even when I thought I'd booked a night longer than I actually had, owners very quick to accommodate us the extra night which saved me look elsewhere at the last minute. The house is so relaxing & bed soooo comfortable . I always thought I had the most comfy bed at home but now not so sure ;) Being beachfront was my favourite thing heading to the beach each day was so easy for us and our baby. All the rocks out the back with no flat surface would prove tricky for toddlers unless you're prepared to carry them all to the beach. And not having a blind in master bedroom means you are up as early as the sun preventing a sleep in (which would be nice in that comfy bed) but the pro's most certainly outweigh the cons and I'd highly recommend the property to anyone wanted to get out of town & escape the daily grind. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you so much :)

Perfect getaway location

This a great house for a family getaway. Our family stayed there in the school holidays. The house was perfect with a nice modern feel. The pool was great, and if the kids weren't at the beach, they were in the pool. Beach access is directly out the front. We didn't have problem with the bridge at all. It is narrow, but easy to to navigate. It only goes over a small culvert that could easily be walked down if you didn't feel like walking over the bridge. Very happy with our decision to stay and will happily stay at Flametrees again

The house was user friendly, everything except for BBQ was clean, some rubbish left behind by previous tenant. The pool would have been great if the weather warmer. Our family snorkelled daily and saw new growth in the coral, and a variety of small fishes which they really enjoyed.

We loved the quiet unspoilt location of Hideaway Bay. We went out on our kayaks everyday to explore the reefs, local beaches and islands - weather permitting. Saw lots of turtles, healthy reefs off Dingo beach and even a dingo wandering on a deserted beach. We will be back !

A beautiful hideaway

We wanted a quiet, peaceful spot to relax after a difficult year. This was ideal. We had a lovely week swimming in the beautiful pool then sitting in the outdoor eating area next to the pool playing board games. When we wanted to stretch our legs we walked along the beach. Outstanding Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flametrees the house is very well appointed. The deck and pool are amazing. Fantastic location for a quiet get away. No distractions, plenty to do and hosts have provided books, games and CD’s for listening, along with a stereo to attach your device. Bamboo sheets, pillows and comfortable mattresses ensure a great nights sleep. Thanks Shirlene what a fabulous home and location.

Beautiful property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flame Trees, it is indeed a beautiful home. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were clean and comfortable. The showers are fabulous. Although the property was air conditioned, the shower rooms weren't, so attempting to dry hair in temperatures of 30+ was frustrating. Although it is described as Absolute Beach Front (and it is) I wouldn't recommend the walk to the beach from the rear of the property. You have to negotiate over a little wooden rickety bridge which goes over an overgrown creek/stream and then walk through very long grasses and shrubbs where anything that bites/stings could be lurking! A little disappointing. There is safe access to the beach from the street. The pool was a real Godsend to cool off during the day, however a pool net would have been appreciated as when the filter is not on, it soon gets covered in bugs and would like to have removed them before getting in the pool. Lots of bugs at the bottom of the pool too. Bugs come hand in hand in QLD, we expected them, but would have liked the option to remove them. Disappointed that no beach towels were provided, all other rental properties have provided these in the past. This coast and The Whitsundays are all about the beaches! One evening my daughter and I decided to use the BBQ to cook some lamb, after a few minutes of cooking, it ran out of gas! You have to drive everywhere. If you like the seclusion, this is your property! We loved it and would definitely return!

Excellent property

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flame Trees in the Whitsundays area! The place was very clean and comfortable. It was however 40 minutes off the beaten path, but if you want a rest and lovely place to stay with a beach this is the place for you! We all raved about the comfort of the beds and enjoyed the pool at night star gazing. Lots of birds and very tropical! Thanks Shirlene for all your attentiveness to us!
