The first floor features a formal living room, formal dining room, half bath, dedicated study, laundry room, and a large kitchen with generous prep space that is fully stocked with cooking tools and essentials. All four bedrooms and a full bathroom are located on the second floor, providing privacy and a comfortable sleeping layout. The Downtown Darling has so much potential but is a shadow of its original self. We had seven adults in town for a family gathering. We had a great time, but we had to do a lot of work to make the house acceptable when we arrived. On the plus side, the beds were fine and the bathrooms and kitchen were clean. The location was great - quiet and walkable to downtown. However, the furniture is worn and we had to do maintenance on the dining room chairs before we could use them. The outdoor area was unusable until we scrubbed the furniture and swept piles of leaves and twigs off the porch. We also had to sweep the front rooms when we arrived as there were crumbs and dirt on the floors. The towels were thin and worn out and basic items such as dish towels and silverware were miserly. Overall, the Downtown Darling needs a refresh and the outside areas need to be included in the cleaning regimen.

Great house for a group, but only one full bathroom

We enjoyed the house for a group. The kitchen was nice and we were excited about the outdoor area because we were hosting a tailgate before the men's soccer game. The outdoor furniture and cushions were very dirty and there was mold on the cushions and pizza boxes on the side porch with leftover pizza. But we really enjoyed our time, mostly stood at the tailgate, decorated with floral and enjoyed the bedroom situations.

I rented this house for the second year in a row due to it's convenient location to Bethlehem's Musikfest. It was adequate, but dirty. There were beer cans in the yard when we checked in. I did see a mouse in the hallway halfway through our stay. Old popcorn kernals under the pillows on the couch....things like that. Dead flys on top of the fridge when we checked in. For local TV - there is no way to watch the local channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, there is only a smartTV.

When we arrived the floors had dog hair and dog food on them. The beds had hair, food and stains. Basement door wired shut. Window broken. Curtains shredded. Smoke alarm chirping. Dirty door frames. Patched wall. Some furniture in poor condition. Host responded after an hour. Offered a different house for the night, saying the cleaners were new. We were 8 adults and 3 children. We couldn’t move the next day because of the wedding we were in town to attend. Host said she would go right away to the property and check it out. She also said she would give us a refund. This was on the phone and is not written. Then she texted me back and said the Cleaner sent her a video and it was all clean that we had set up the pictures and we’re trying to scam her. Her words: what you see is what you get. She said take it up with VRBO. VRBO says the money has already been distributed, there’s nothing they can do, and they gave us 120 credit toward a future booking with them; it was a real blight on an otherwise wonderful weekend. I had read warnings that VRBO did not back the customers very well and that there were hosts who set up scams like this. I guess I got caught. Don’t book this property.

Do Not Stay Here- we didn't

Fruit flies in the sink, dead bugs throughout the house,and a sticky residue on everything in the kitchen, including the floors. When this was brought up, owner had excuses as to why, and told me that with window AC units she couldn't keep bugs out. Madam, I have stayed in cabins in the woods without dead bugs. Through this app! Refused a partial refund and we wound up staying at a hotel instead. Oh and this was for a funeral which made the event even worse.

Cable

The property is in a perfect location to downtown. It is walking distance to every event downtown. We were there to babysit our grand baby so we had a lot of time at the house and we did not have great TV service. They need to step up the cable no live TV and cable is very very limited. Everything like CBS or NBC old shows would cost 2.50 to watch. The TV situation was very disappointing. The bathrooms were clean they were like wiped down but did not smell clean, they needed some disinfectant. They bedrooms were all a great size and the window air units worked great in cooling down the house.

Family Friendly Central Bethlehem House

We were incredibly happy with our stay here! We wanted to visit with family but have a separate place to stay due to COVID. We were looking for something with outdoor space and this did not disappoint!. The backyard was beautiful, with a lot of different outdoor seating options with lots of shade provided by the wisteria covered pergola and sun umbrella. The grill was in good shape and worked great! Having a fenced in yard made it easy to let our guard down and let our 2yr old wander and explore. Speaking of kids, this house is incredibly family friendly and would be great for a family with kids of almost any age- I may hesitate to bring a 12-20m old who is walking but can't listen to direction yet just b/c there are nice decorations at low levels that would be hard to parent. Otherwise, the upstairs bedroom/play room is packed with toys and games for all ages and all the outlets in the house had outlet covers on them. The house comes with kid bowls, plates and utensils (BYO sippy cup). The bedrooms all would fit a pack and play some w/ more space than others. If I were to make a suggestion to summer visitors, I would say bring temporary black out curtains or black vinyl covering since the bedroom windows face west and are very bright during bedtime. It would be a great Musicfest house since it is a short walk down spring st. to the kidsplatz area as well. There is a public park w/ playground close by as is the rose garden, and the monocacy/ historic bethlehem. As someone who grew up in Bethlehem, I can honestly say it was a super convenient location to lots of the things I come back to see. We will definitely be back!

Perfect getaway

Our family had a wonderful mini break in this lovely home. We were 40 minutes from the ski slopes and really enjoyed the house. Audrey was super kind, responsive and pleasant to deal with.
