15 minutes to CBD and Salamanca/Battery Point with connections to MONA ferry. Local 401 Bus connects to southern coastal suburbs and two km to Wrest Point and University.
Sonningview is also a convenient base for day trips outside Hobart. Half day trips to Coal River region for wineries and historic Richmond.
Further afield exploring Huon and Bruny Island is a 40 min drive via the Southern Outlet. And Port Arthur historic site a 90 min drive.

Fantastic stay

Wonderful self contained apartment, everything you need on a short stay. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Great location short drive to Hobart and attractions. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We booked this beautiful property for a 6 night stay in Hobart and it ’s was fantastic. Close to amenities, pretty outlook and very tidy/clean. Janina was wonderful and gave us some great locations to visit.

We love Hobart and although we have travelled a lot we adore coming home. There is so much to do and one doesn't have to travel far from home before coming across something new or interesting.
We have enjoyed our hosting experience since 2015 and the pleasure hasn't waned.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with our house and its location the instant we saw it.
The mountain and river views from around the garden are inspiring. We can walk to beautiful spots along the river, the village shops and cafes on the beach. To help save the planet we keep one car now and we sometimes use the buses which pass by our street.
What makes this property unique
The adjoining 50sqm apartment was built in the 1980's by the previous owners to be used primarily for visiting friends and family. When not in use they welcomed BnB guests. We thought it had a very cosy feel with all the wood panelling, beams and loved the picture window and sunny aspect giving views into the garden. After installing a kitchenette and laundry to the unit we have carried on the tradition.
We love that our guests say they enjoy the property's tranquility and the garden. Recently I added a peach tree to the apples and apricot trees. And we try to keep some herbs and lettuces growing for guests to pick fresh. Recently we planted strawberries as well.
