The house is beautiful, with amazing views and peaceful surrounds. We relaxed but also being so close to winery’s explored the area and made the most of our time. Perfect location and spacious house for the getaway with friends.

Thanks Kendall, so glad you enjoyed your stay. And thanks for being exemplary guests. The house was so neat and tidy we hardly knew you and your friends had been here!
Perfect place to stay with friends and family, and children. Lots of rooms to have your own space and quiet time, in a beautiful location. Also very well appointed kitchen, lots of books and toys. We stayed over a freezing long weekend and it was warm and cozy
Plenty of space for a large family or group of friends. The surrounding is beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset and seeing the llamas on our morning strolls.
The homestead is such an inviting, eclectic mix of all things homey and delightful. Meg is a star snd the two Labradors are a joy! Our second visit was as perfect as the first.
We'll be back again!
The house has everything you’d want for a large family to stay comfortably together and then there were the added surprises like a couple of dogs that visited and beautiful birds. highly recommended
Comfortable and peaceful property - a real get away
The homestead is huge - plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and lots of comfortable areas for playing games and reading. Great views and a real country feel - but only 20 minute drive into Canberra. And a perfect, straight quiet road outside for teenager learning to drive!
The house was so spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was great and very well equiped. The grounds and views were absolutely breathtaking! Great house for multiple families of all ages to stay at. And the hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at Wattagan. The only negative was that the beds weren't very comfortable.
A wonderful country escape, only minutes from the city
We booked Wattagan as accomodation for some of our guests at our wedding as we getting married near by! The facilities were fantastic and Meg was an absolute dream to deal with! Would definitely recommend Wattagan for groups that want a fun, relaxing country escape that is close to some of Canberra’s most amazing wineries, restaurants and bars! We look forward to the opportunity to stay again :)

Thanks very much Olivia. So glad you enjoyed your stay. You were great guests to host.
We loved our stay at Wattagan Station. The house is delightful, with a great homestead kitchen, and ample living spaces.
The garden is magnificent, with glorious views to the Murrumbidgee River and the Brindabella mountains.
The property is quiet and feels far out in the country, but is within 15 minutes of major shopping and the kid-friendly Gold Creek precinct, and half an hour from Parliament House.
Our family stayed at Wattagan for a surprise 60th birthday. We could not have been happier with the house and surrounds. The house and particularly the kitchen was very well equipped. Lots of room to spread out and also be together. We would absolutely come again and highly recommend. Any dealings with our hosts were seamless.
Great location, heaps of room, and 'ah the serenity'.
A group of us wanted to go to Canberra for the weekend, but didn't necessarily want to stay in Canberra, rather we wanted something with character. This was perfect - it was 25-30 mins out of Canberra, but it provided us with a Farm stay vibe. The place was huge with heaps of bedroom (more than we required) and the facilities were great. Given it was winter and we could light the fire places, it really created a great relaxing atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our stay given the location, as it was so peaceful. Meg, our host was great.
Lovely property. Amazing views towards the Brindabellas from the outdoor table. Everything you need. Fully kitted out kitchen. Several living areas. Friendly pets (dogs) visiting. We loved our Easter long weekend here. Thanks Meg and John!

Thanks Lou, so glad you enjoyed your stay. And thanks for leaving the house imperfect order. Great guests.
What a fabulous homestead in the countryside. We were a large family coming from Canada to Canberra for a wedding. This home allowed us to have privacy when needed yet abundant space to gather for meals and socialization. There were birds stopping by the feeders, llamas to watch in the field next door and a few token kangaroos as well. Meg was immediately available to answer any questions and ensured our visit was comfortable. I totally recommend this homestead to anyone looking for a peaceful beautiful location close enough to the city for shopping and winery visits. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!!Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.
I booked Wattagan Homestead for myself and 11 girlfriends to celebrate our collective birthdays. It was a special occasion so we needed a special location that was accessible for parties travelling from as far as Newcastle and Melbourne and Wallaroo was just perfect. The space and the home was large enough to comfortably house us all while still being cosy and having everything we needed on hand. Meg was a beautiful hostess and readily available. Frank the dog was a happy site and the outdoor views to the Brindabella topped it all off. Would highly recommend for large groups. Thank you Meg and John.
Lovely location and house. Disappointed with a few things as listed below.
Overall a lovely house. Peaceful and relaxing location. Only let downs were the outdoor furniture was falling apart and some chairs broken. The listed tennis court was overgrown and without a net making it unusable which was disappointing, not to mention the tennis rackets we bought to use were not required. Lastly when I questioned what coffee machine was available to know what coffee to bring I was told there wasn’t one. There in fact is one but I had packed up my own machine from home. In saying that I still really enjoyed the place and would stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wallaroo. Meg was the perfect host and communication was perfect. Would definitely recommend to others with large groups.
House is very spacious and impressive with lots of spaces to eat, rest, read etc. The house is large, well equipped and very homely. The backdrop is stunning - great views and ability to walk down the road or across paddocks to see alpacas, horses, cows etc. Highly recommend.
The homestead is a great space especially for a large group. Communication was great and it was wonderful turning up to an already lit fire. Thanks so much for having us!
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating a special birthday with family and friends. Hosts were very helpful and the property was stunning with views, cosy indoor areas and great kitchen. Highly recommend.

Adrian and Corena were delightful guests. They kept us updated every step of the way - including organising the helicopters that took Adrian and his groomsmen to the wedding. The house was spotless when they left. They are certainly very welcome to stay again.
