Paxton Square

The affordable luxury of the Paxton Square cottages sees them as the ideal accommodation choice for a quiet weekend away or your next group booking.

Each of the 32 cottages feature spacious bedrooms with quality linen, fully equipped kitchen, reverse cycle air conditioning, digital television, and complimentary Wi-Fi.


There are laundry and barbecue facilities available, and the cottages are pet friendly on request.

Our one bedroom cottages sleep up to 3 guests, and our two bedroom cottages sleep up to 4 guests. Some can sleep up to 8 guests.

We are proud to offer a 1 night minimum stay, however during long weekend periods, we can only offer a minimum 2 night stay.

The Bible Christian Chapel offers a beautiful space that compliments the use of the cottages, which may also be enjoyed by guests, visitors and groups for activities such as wedding receptions, conferences and retreats.

Paxton Square Cottages are located in the very heart of Burra, a comfortable walking distance to local shops, cafes and restaurants, and just a two hour drive from Adelaide.

Burra experience

The Burra township has a deep history so staying in the Paxton Square cottages was a pleasant and delightful experience. Would thoroughly recommend it for part of a do-able weekend Adelaide getaway experience

lovely relaxing stay

It was fabulously situated close to the main street yet also in a peaceful quiet back road. loved our stay, only problem was i have a sensitivity to chemicals and the freshly painted and new carpets had me feel quite ill when in the rooms. I had to open all windows which was a bit cool being as the Iweather was unseasonably cool.

Christmas in Paxton Square Cottages

The booking process was easy and all locked in. There was some confusion when we arrived about our booking not coming through from Stayz to Paxton, but all sorted out quickly. Stayz advertises a fully equipped kitchen. There is a communal oven/stove in the middle of the square but not an oven or grill in the cottage itself. Overall a highly recommended place to stay and explore the great history of Burra.
