Escape to Andrea's White House Retreat, a charming two-bedroom hideaway on 5 acres of pristine bushland.

Perfect for couples or small families seeking peace, nature, and adventure.

Enjoy winter snow fun or summer outdoor exploration, then relax with a BBQ in the alfresco room, sip wine, and watch kangaroos or wombats wander by.

We are close to all the alpine fun in the Kosciuszko National Park. Reconnect with loved ones, unwind, and make lasting memories in the Snowy Mountains.

We are a 15 minute drive to Thredbo ski resort and a 5 minute drive to the ski tube to have you at Perisher in no time.

Dual-Key Property

The Retreat is part of a dual-key property.
On the other side of the home is our Residence, a separate fully self-contained accommodation typically used by extended families.

• Each space has its own private entrance
• No shared indoor or outdoor areas
• The internal connecting door remains locked at all times

While most guests never notice the other accommodation, you may occasionally be aware of other guests nearby.

We simply ask all guests to be respectful of the peaceful setting.

A wonderful family getaway

The Perfect Cottage for our Ski Trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Andrea's cottage. The location is excellent, 5 minutes from the ski tube. All of the amenities were great! We loved the fire, and the house felt nice and cosy during winter. It's surrounded by nature and it would be wonderful in Summer too. We cannot wait to go back!

Home was warm and cozy! Loved the set up and design of the house. Beautiful snow surroundings and location was so good and close to the snow and town. Photos don’t do it justice. The property was very clean, cosy, warm and comfortable. Our hosts left wine and chocolate to greet us, there was plenty of wood cut for the fire, bedding was snug and the kitchen well-stocked. Can't fault our stay and Andrea had the perfect amount of communication. Thank you!

Great place to stay in the mountains

We stayed at The White House Retreat to help look after our grandkids while their parents were at a wedding at Tinkersfield. It was the perfect location and within walking distance of the wedding venue and their accommodation. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The outlook is beautiful and the cottage is well appointed. The area is quiet and the heating fantastic. Would stay again if going back that way.

Crackenback house stay

A wonderful stay at Andrea’s lovely White House. The setting is perfect, nestled amongst the gums with a glimpse of the mountains behind, kangaroos grazing on the grass outside the living room. Very cozy and comfortable with every imaginable convenience to make this a great stay. A great spot to explore the region. We will return!

Fantastic property and host

We had a great stay at the White House with Greg and Andrea hosting. Location is fab being just a 10 min drive from the skitube. The house is modern and fully stocked. The underfloor heating, fire and reverse cycle aircon was a Godsent after skiing. Beds are comfy and warm. The kitchen is fab - full of mod cons that I am used to at home. Will stay again next year

Loved it !!

Loved our weeks stay during winter. Underfloor heating keeps the property warm and the wood fire is amazing to get going after a days skiing and meant we could dry our clothes each night after a day on the slopes. The grassed area was great for the kids to kick the ball around. Property had everything you could need and was in a great location for either snow fields and Jindy. We will look to return again next year.

Well its fair to say I didn't want to leave ! Very Clean & Covid-19 Safe! A Beautiful Big kitchen with everything you need Fire wood already cut up for you. (Thanks Greg) Heated floor was Amazing, very comfortable Beds! Andrea was very helpful with all her tips I pre cooked a few dishes so I just had to re- heat and packed lots of snack foods Bacon & eggs for Breakfast. It was the prefect getaway. EVERYTHING physically about this property was absolutely beautiful. The location, the scenery, the well equipped kitchen, the stocked fireplace, the quality was 5*. The hosts had lovely personal touches. The ONLY negative was a sml noise problem with adjoining guests which was immediately addressed and handled.

Outstanding property!

The Retreat is a little slice of paradise. Beautifully situated, equipped and maintained... this is one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in. Previous reviews do make mention of the connecting door into the 'residence' which adjoins. For our first few nights, there was nobody staying in there, but there was a lovely group in there for the last night. Whilst they where no problem, I can see that a rowdy group could be. For such a quality property, I hope the owners can do more to alleviate this.

I love all things Christmas and found my reindeer hiding a cupboard.I was a bit excited as you can see.
I enjoy the Snowy Mountains region and all that is on offer, bush walking in summer and snow fun in winter. It is certainly a region where you really do experience all four seasons. I enjoy meeting people from different places and helping them to enjoy all that is on offer in the Snowy Mountains and Andrea's White House.

Why they chose this property

The White House has a certain country charm which has you feeling relaxed in no time.
No wonder I loved it the moment we walked in to inspect the house.
Loved it then and love it now it has stood the test of time. It is unique with its country charm not a cookie cutter house at all !

What makes this property unique

Being on a 5 acre blush block you have the much needed peace and quiet yet you are close to Jindabyne for shopping and services, Thredbo Alpine Village for year round fun and 5 mins from the ski tube to take you to Perisher in winter. You miss all the Jindabyne traffic which is a total win !
The property has the best of both worlds peace, back to nature and yet close to it all.
Peace and quiet abounds close to the action for both summer and winter without all the crowds and noise around. Perfect escape to allow you to connect with loved ones and appreciate all that is good in life
