About Jeanne Swarts
We purchased Rowley House in 2009 in a very derelict state. Over the next three years we renovate and modernised the house. We moved into Rowley House in 2012 and lived there until 2016 when we moved to Mira Mar, another suburb of Albany.
Jeanne Swarts purchased this House in 2009
Why Jeanne Swarts chose Albany
We fell in love with the beautiful old house that offered a glimpse into Albany's past. We enjoyed being in town being able to walk to restaurants and cafes and always being close to all the many annual events that happens in town. Some of our favourites were the Albany Classic Car Race in June and the Albany Downhill Mountain Bike Race.
What makes this House unique
Rowley House offers a suite of modern conveniences e.g Netflix and free WiFi. The beautifully appointed kitchen with its magnificent Falcon cooker will make cooking and entertaining a pleasure. Luxury touches such as a Nespresso coffee machine will make your stay memorable. For adventurous guests the house provides 2 mountain bikes and a surf ski. Situated on Mt Clarence, the various mountain bike trails and new Mt Clarence down hill track will provide hours of fun. Younger guests will enjoy the trampoline, a wide variety of children's toys, DVD's, board games and a Nintendo Wii.

Beautiful Rowley House
This is a lovely property and I would happily live there!
Stylish, well appointed and comfortable. Plus Jeanne has been lovely to deal with.
I wish there were more pet friendly properties like this. (Although I was very glad I took a pile of blankets and quilts to drape over the lovely sofas so our Labrador didn’t spoil anything).
I hope we can visit again soon.
Awesome place to stay
Lovely character home with all the mod cons, ideally located a short walk from the Main Street and short drive to all there is to see and do in Albany.
Lovely, spacious family home
Rowley house has a very peaceful, calming feel. The layout, perfect for a family or group of friends, with stunning views of the bay and Albany.
Trish’s Albany holiday.
A truly beautiful house. The view is great and very close to Albany town centre. The beds were very comfortable. There were toys and books for our enjoyment. The kitchen was well appointed and stocked with sufficient crockery to allow for the use of the dishwasher.
The gardens do need a little TLC. Overall the property is excellent for a wonderful stay in Albany.
Perfect family holiday house
My family and I really enjoyed our holiday at Rowley House. It’s situated in a great location making it easy to walk into town and has spectacular views from the front patio. It’s beautifully restored and with a tasteful extension making it the perfect family home. (You just need eye masks to sleep in the twin downstairs bedroom because of the skylights).
The house is equipped with everything you need for a holiday- it’s like moving in to a well loved home.
While you are in our beautiful town, I would suggest some of the following as well worth your while:
Albany Whale Tours. July is a very good time for some spectacular whale watching in Albany.
National Anzac Centre. When you are in the area, which is very close to Rowley House, your should also take a drive up to the war memorial which offers 360 degree views over Albany. You can also reach it through a scenic bush walk (only about 2km) on Mt Clarence.
Natural Bridge & Gap which is a spectacular Southern Ocean experience.
Whale World, a view into the cruel whaling past of Albany which was the last operating whale station in Australia.
Little Beach which has been voted one of the best beaches in Australia.
York Street is Albany's main street and just a few 100 metres from Rowley House. There are many coffee shops, bars, restaurants and unique shops in York Street to explore.
We always enjoy a day trip to Denmark. There are many wineries with excellent restaurants (The Lake House, Pepper & Salt, to name a few), a cheese factory, a meadery, a chocolate factory, a toffee factory etc. Ocean Beach (well known to surfers) Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks are some of my other Denmark favourites.
The Albany Tourism website is called Amazing Albany and will give you many more ideas should you have a little bit more time available or if your family have any specific interests.
At the house there is also an accommodation guide with a lot of information and maps of the area.
I also have a Facebook page called rowleyhousealbany where I from time to time post local events and other local interesting news.
