My Bondi apartment is simply but tastefully appointed, and is fully equipped for a wonderful holiday or business stay.
It is in a great location. surrounded by gourmet food shops, cafes and restaurants, with a bus stop outside the door. It's an easy ten minute walk down to the beach.
It has a balcony with a view of the neighbourhood and the ocean, and its own secure garage- a fantastic asset in busy Bondi. The apartment faces the east, so you are greeted by the morning sun streaming through the large windows.
There is a rooftop pool, with panoramic views of the beach and the city. Perfect spot for watching Sydney's New Year's Eve fireworks- and no traffic to contend with afterwards, just go downstairs to bed!
I live in this apartment when I am working in Sydney, so it has all the comforts of home, including 100 per cent cotton bedsheets and pure wool blankets- no nasty synthetics! As well as good cooking facilities and equipment. There is a pantry cupboard, full sized fridge and lots of cupboards for storage in the kitchen, as well as a clothes closet with hanging space and shelving. We have Smart TV , & Wireless Internet so there are lots of options for relaxing.
The building is quiet, despite its busy location in Bondi Rd, halfway between the beach and Bondi Junction, where there is great shopping for all tastes and a railway station, from which you can catch a quick train to the city or beyond.
You will have total privacy- I live outside of Sydney and only use the apartment when I have a job in Sydney, where I work in Films & TV.
Please note that, although this apartment is extremely well kept and comfortable, it is not a 'luxury' property- the building is not new, and the apartment is 'lived in'- I would recommend it for budget minded travellers, freelance workers on contracts, and people who are eager to enjoy the beautiful and lively Bondi environment- but if you are expecting 5 star accommodation, this is not the place for you!
Our minimum booking period is 10 days, and bookings up to a month are welcome. The apartment is suitable for 1 or 2 adults- no children or pets allowed. Strictly no smoking, and we ask that guests respect the neighbours by being quiet and considerate of others.

Guests are expected to respect the amenity of our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum and disposing of trash in the appropriate manner.
Our guests are not normally greeted on arrival- we have a combination lock on the letterbox in the lobby downstairs- we will send the combination.
Guests should not move or reconfigure the connections between the TV, Modem, NBN box etc. This is too complicated for me to fix!

Small but very comfortable place with a great location. Perfect little bolthole to sleep, shower and keep your stuff while you explore Bondi. Parakeets on the balcony every day are a nice bonus.
Communication with Loretta was fast and efficient. Check in instructions were clear and this the easiest check in I have had at a VRBO. Studio was as described and very comfortable. Fresh flowers and a welcome card were waiting for me. The area is great for buses, places to eat and easy access to beaches and shopping. I will be returning to Bondi in the future and if available will use the studio again.
Ideal studio for 2 adults. All the amenities you need. Loved the fact that there were store cupboard supplies & you could use these & replace or add to them. Really useful to have.
Loretta seemed to have thought of everything you might need down to a rice maker & an umbrella!
The accommodation was ideally situated on a busy bus route. Every 6 minutes buses go past to Bondi Beach (5mins or walk 15mins) & to Sydney city centre in the other direction ( 30 to 40 mins, depending on traffic).
The immediate area was full of great restaurants, bars, takeaways, shops, supermarkets.
The icing on the cake was the rooftop pool which was fairly quiet & a lovely place to chill out after a busy day sightseeing. The views from the pool were amazing. Sydney harbour bridge in one direction & Bondi Beach in the other.
All in all we had a wonderful stay & would definitely go here again.

Good property
We spent five good weeks there when we went to visit our son and his family who live in an apartment 400 ms away on Ocean St. That proximity plus some good nearby shops and restaurants and the 380 bus stop just outside made for an excellent location.
When the weather was fine, walking to Bondi beach/Icebergs pool took 15 mins with just a few minutes more to walk to Bronte pool. Bondi Junction is a 10 mins walk with all the shops you could need.
The studio was well set up for a couple. Apart from breakfast we ate out but there was enough equipment to cover full time catering at home. The balcony was delightful with a glimpse to the right of the ocean. The view from the roof was possibly one of the best in the area, with views to the beach and the harbour. The pool was about 14ms long and looked well maintained but the rest of the area seemed quite bare.
As the owner stressed the studio is used as their place when they visit Sydney on business and is not set up with all-new kit as a full time rental. Understanding that we had an excellent stay and would highly recommend it. A final point is the garage. On previous trips we had rental cars; having a secure close by parking spot is a real plus for people who want to visit the larger area around Sydney.
My daughter and I stayed in this student sized apartment for 3 weeks in July 2019.
We found the room exactly to our liking as a base to see Sydney. The #333 bus stop just outside our 11 story apartment complex was very convenient for our many shopping trips into nearby Bondi Junction shopping centre. Then hop on the train from there or stay on the bus to directly get to Sydney's many attractions.
We also enjoyed the quietness of the apartment after 8hr touristing. The outside corridor is bare but entirely functional with end of corridor clothes washing machine ($2 + $1 coins) and dryer too.
We liked looking out over the 5th floor balcony to the garden below with our morning Kookaburra catching worms for breakfast. The nearby school playground also gave a homely feel with children's voices wafting up during breaks.
Inside the apartment everything was compact, just as we wanted while searching for university arts degree courses for my daughter. The kitchen settings are really just for 2 people so we ate out with our relatives at the nearby Bondi Icebergs Bistro (lovely balcony tables).
Just over the street is Kemeny's for grocery shopping which looks like just a wine store from the road.
The owner left a bright big bunch of yellow lillies in a big vase and a large bowl of oranges for us on arrival which was a nice thought.
The only down sides for us was a faded print in the kitchen & no heater for winter mornings & low water pressure for one day when we left. Minor points.
So we would highly recommend this apartment as a base for 2 people to see the Sydney sights and would stay again when we come back.

Thanks for the mostly positive review but I’d like to point out to potential guests that the air conditioner also functions as a heater and is very efficient! The print in the kitchen is not faded- it’s exactly as the original painting which hangs in the art gallery of NSW.

Week in Sydney
My husband and I spent a week in Sydney Australia for a vacation, staying at this Bondi Studio. It had everything we needed. Good location, close to everything. Would recommend staying here.

A fabulous stay!
My stay at Loretta's Bondi studio was even better than I'd hoped for. Spotless and well appointed, it is within walking distance to Bondi beach (I swam every morning) and Bondi Junction, from where I caught the train to further destinations. Buses to the city literally stop opposite the building. The area has a great vibe, with wonderful restaurants and busy cafes. Loretta herself was the perfect host and responded immediately and helpfully to all my queries. Can't wait to go back!

About the host
Hosted by Loretta Egan
I am a Costume Designer for film and TV. I live with my artist husband John, dog Ziggy and cat Frankie on the far north coast of NSW.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property so that I would have somewhere to stay when I working in Sydney- I am a freelancer so work on medium to short term contracts. John uses it when he goes to Sydney to visit friends and family or attend sporting or cultural events. In the meantime, we rent it out to visitors who enjoy the location and atmosphere of Bondi as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
We chose this place for its amazing location, between the beach and Bondi Junction, its proximity to public transport and the fact that it has its own lockable garage- a fantastic asset in busy Bondi, where parking is always problematic! As well as its own sunny balcony, the rooftop pool provides amazing views over the beach to the east and the city to the west.
