The place was perfect for our Nature Retreat getaway. We enjoyed hiking (with the dogs) at the Chickasaw Recreation Area during the days and then spent the afternoons & evenings relaxing at the cabin. We look forward to future trips.
Check in was incredibly easy and the kitchen had the basics available to cook and eat well! The host was responsive throughout my stay and the neighbors were friendly.
A little dusty, door locks not good. Refrigerator leaked wayer on floor. No dishwasher soap, had to go buy some. I feel when you pay a cleaning fee, you shouldn't have to strip sheets and wash, also wipe down counters?
My husband and I were looking for a quiet, waterfront place where we could relax, read a good book, and do a little fishing. Unfortunately, the listing photo was misleading. The cabin is not waterfront, and the water is not a two-minute walk as described, which was disappointing. That said, the cabin itself was comfortable. The bed, pillows, and couch were all cozy, and we slept well. However, there were some maintenance and cleanliness issues that should be addressed. We found mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers and under the sink, the front panel of the dishwasher was missing, making it unclear how to use it, and the washer and dryer were in an awkward location, which made loading them challenging. We also had trouble reaching the host because the contact information was incorrect, and we had to go through customer service to make contact.Despite these issues, we made the best of our stay and still enjoyed the area. We visited several surrounding lakes, Turner Falls, and tried local dining — all of which were great. We especially recommend Fat Bully’s for fantastic burgers, calf fries and fried Jalapeños. Great atmosphere and friendly service With some updates, better accuracy in the listing, and improved cleanliness, this place could be much better. The location itself has potential, and the surrounding area is definitely worth visiting.
The tin metal cabin was beyond rustic. Photos were a bit deceptive. Both the front door and back door opened with gross difficulty and were definitely not secure ( the dead bolts and locks in the back door were not installed properly and could have been opened with a shove) The furniture was trashy ghetto and appalling. We found a tick on the bedroom curtain. It was represented, as there being a 3 minute walk from the lake, but there were no directions to the lake. The walk required trespassing on private property to get to the lake. Disappointing. No basics like coffee filters were provided. The charge of 450 for two nights was a rip off. We had just stayed in a high quality hotel for 180 a night and this was frankly trashy. neighborhood dogs freely roamed the streets and waited by the doors. We will be more careful next time.

Hi John,
I am sorry you are unhappy with your stay. As per our house rules, we request that our guests contact us right away if something is not in order or not as expected. You did not report any of this. We would have sent someone to at least take care of the locks. Coffee filters were provided, you might have overlooked them. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything regarding your taste in furniture. If you had contacted me, I might have been able to provide a different cabin to you. There are no leash laws in our area and we unfortunately cannot control any dogs that might roam in the area. Again, if you had contacted us, we would have been able to chase them away or possibly even found the owners. I am sorry you were not happy with the cabin. With communication we might have been able to turn your stay into a more satisfactory one.

Cleaning fee when it needs to be clean
It started when we got there and no code to get the key to get in and I had to call someone to get in. So it took some time to get in when it was raining out. That evening we find a unwrap candy on the floor next to the sofa and then we find a wrap maxi pad on the floor between the sofa and fridge. The floor and rugs look like it haven’t been sweep or vacuumed. After that it made us wonder what else that wasn’t clean. The beds feel like you roll to the middle and try to crawl out of bed, we slept in both beds to see if they was both like that and they was.
The morning we left I took the trash out and inside the trash was nasty dirty.
With different sickness and virus going around it makes you wonder what was clean if anything was.
With all that said we will not be returning to this cabin.

I can't agree with the accuracy of this review. First off, we never received a call. I received one message asking how to get in. VRBO was having some glitches and for whatever reason did not send out the message I had sent with the welcome information. It just sat in my outbox. As soon as I received your message I checked my outbox and resent it. Although, it may have been raining the entire front porch is covered. You're not standing in rain.
Also, I highly doubt you found a wrapped sanitary napkin and candy on the floor. If you had why did you not report it? In the house rules we state that if anything is out of order or if there is an issue you immediately report it so we can fix the issue. I know our cleaning girl moves all the furniture to clean underneath it. Aside from the "What is the door code to get in?" Message I did not receive one message from you. I am sorry you had such a terrible time at the cabin, but had you voiced your complaints during your stayI could have had someone out to look at the issues.
Nice cabin. Our host was getting married that weekend and we didn’t want to bother her. Would suggest some instructions for how to use DISH. We tried our best….wanted to see a football game….but never succeeded.
Very nice little spot to stay for a weekend getaway! We met up with our adult kids here, and went to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area (also recommended!) The kitchen has the needed basics for cooking meals. Nice clean beds and towels, cold AC, and comfy couch. Just one minor issue: the wifi kept cutting out and had to be rebooted many times, not sure why but rebooting it was the workaround. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay & would consider staying here again next time.
We were located really close to all the things we had planned to do while we were in Oklahoma. The location of the cabin was very nice and quiet. We really enjoyed ourselves, and appreciated being able to lounge around on the couch and watch movies when we weren’t out doing things.

Cabin was great! Was perfect for us - had plenty of room. Having the washer and dryer was helpful with two 8 year-olds. Close to all sorts of activities, dining, etc. We had a rainy afternoon and really appreciated the TV access to the sites we have at home (Disney , Paramount, etc). We all had a great time and wished we'd added two more days!
The truth is that I was very fascinated by the area, the climate, your house, everything was very good. Later, I would like to return another time. I leave very happy, thank you.
The cabin was a nice place to stay. It was clean and had much of what is needed to cook and have goodies. I forgot the salt and pepper but thankfully they even had some in the cabinets.
We used the grill (bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid. They did have a lighter.). We brought 2 boats for the lake which we did get parked after some maneuvering. The outside yard is not very big . We did enjoy our stay and thank you to the host.
