We arrived and after what we saw we left... nothing like the photos...holes in celing, holes and mold in bathroom above the bath, zip ties holding shower head in place.. Toilet had broken tiles underfoot that were wobbly..next door to a hospital.. terrible terrible terrible house just need to be pulled down.demolished

Could be amazing

The house would have been lovely in its day. I don’t believe the house was clean after the previous guest and there was and still is a beer bottle on the floor near the pool table, no toilet paper in the toilet and coffee marks on the bed size table, windows and general house needs a good clean. Only at check in told about water leaking and hearing it all night. Also no spare blankets as we were cold, Aircon heater in the main bedroom not working and the tiles in the toilet are a safety hazard all broken and loose. The fact you could only enter and exit via the kitchen is a fire safety hazard as front door and stair are out of commission and the only other back doors were locked without key access or chained closed. Shouldn’t be rented in it’s current state!!!

Beautiful original queensland architecture

This magnificent house is in original condition which is rare and amazing to see. If you have an appreciation of grand, subtropical architecture and history you will love staying at Clancholla. So few of these houses, big or small, have been left 'untampered' so we can see how they really were. Really fascinating.

What an incredible story

We loved our stay and enjoyed the history of the home. We couldn’t believe the size of the house and we felt transported back to grand times of yesteryear. Thanks for having us! We will be back.

A terrific experience

My family and I had a terrific time at this majestic property. Centrally located in Rocky, nothing was too far away. The children enjoyed the wide open space to run and play football. Fond memories of the trip, we will be back. Thankyou Anna for your hospitality.

Family gathering

This house was full of character and made for a wonderful stay for a family group (maybe not young children). The bathroom facilities were less well suited to older people, with some loose tiles and shower over bath in one bathroom. An outdoor light at the entrance would have been useful. The kitchen was functional and there were many common areas to sit and chat. It was handy to shopping. Construction at the hospital next door was a bit noisy in the early morning. The accommodation really added a dimension to our family stay.

Great place so historical

I was challenged on arrival and was a little confronted sleeping at night due to the size and age of the property. I found a few lamps and took them to the bed room as we couldn't see. Every bit of this house rings out craftsmanship from a day gone by. We found great cafes in town and had nibbles on the bedroom veranda. When we left I felt so privileged to have been in such an interesting place. We felt more relaxed then when we arrived. Thanks Anna for saying yes to our stay request we loved it.

It is a lovely house, very spacious. Will definitely stay there again. A few safety issues though.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Clancholla, it's main entertainment and dining areas were amazing. The house was so big it took a bit to get our bearings. It is a very old place, and the rest of the house reflected that. There was some books on the history of the house on the table that were a very nice touch. There were some maintenance issues, such as loose and broken floorboards, doors that had trouble locking, unusable stairs, and a toilet that didn't work, but given the age of the property we were still overall impressed. We would very much like to visit again.

Property was perfect for our family gathering for our Daughters Wedding.

Although this property is almost 100 yrs old and some areas are showing their age, it was a delight to stay and an experience we will cherish. All of the beds were very comfortable and the linen fresh. The extras that were everywhere, left us with a warm and fuzzy feeling of being very welcomed. There was plenty of kitchen ware, which made cooking a breeze. and plenty of areas for all to find there own spot to relax. The pool table was a hit with many. The area was very quiet and yet so close to everything. We will certainly be recommending this home and if the need arises, we would stay at the property again. Thank you.
