Close to bush, biking & hiking trails, bird watching, relax & unwind
About Susan Loxton
We are a retired professional couple who love the outdoors and keeping active. We are also fairly new grandparents with 2 cherished grandchildren. We both grew up in the southwest of WA and although we really love the ocean and water based activities close to where we live in Perth, we also fairly recently started mountain bike riding for pleasure. Our enjoyment of the bush and mountain bike riding enticed us to purchase this lovely timber cottage in Dwellingup. We decided to share our cottage so that others can take advantage of the bush and all that Dwellingup offers and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. We love spending time in Dwellingup, making the most of the bush, birdlife, local flora and the peace and tranquilty. We love the fact that Dwellingup is a community minded town, with many regular events and activities.

What makes this Cottage unique
Although the cottage was built in the 1950's, the inside has been renovated, so there is a modern kitchen and bathroom. It is set up to provide comfort and all essential items, plus a few. Having 2 toilets is always a benefit when a number of guests are staying. Dwellingup can be cold in winter and hot in summer. This will not be a problem in our cottage as we have reverse cycle airconditioning in all rooms, and a wood fired heater in the lounge which heats the whole cottage. The outlook from our verandah is very relaxing and peaceful. A great place to unwind and de-stress. For bird lovers, in our garden you will have the opportunity to see a variety of birds including splendid and variegated fairy wrens, willy wag tails, fan tails, many honey eater varieties, red breasted and white breasted robins to name a few. Many of these love our birdbath in the front garden. Our cottage is located very close to the Dwellingup State Forest and numerous walking and mountain bike riding trails. Easy walking distance (5 minutes) into the centre of town and all amenities and a 10 minute drive from Nanga which is popular for weddings.

Lovely weekend break
We really loved our stay in the cottage, it was very clean and had all the everyday amenities you would need. Beds were so comfortable! It was modern with some old world charm and lovely cottage features. It was hot when we stayed and the air conditioning and fans were very effective. Sue and Brian were very easy to communicate with, very prompt and were great hosts. We loved relaxing in the evening on the porch and watching the birds. We would love to come back with some friends. Added bonus we could bring our fur baby! Highly recommended.
Very easy to find the place. Had no probs. Clean house good location.
