Beautiful view/ nice upgrades

This place was very nice and has some lovely upgrades. When we had trouble with the Wi-Fi, we got a very prompt response from a lovely lady in the management office! Some downsides were the elevators in the building and just the outside of the building overall but they are in those areas as well. I would still highly recommend.!

Wonderful condo in great location.

The location of this condo is perfect! It is large enough for a family with a great floor plan. Condo has a wonderful pool and a nice sized kitchen. However, the bathrooms are both in need of an update and the pots, pans and utensils in the kitchen all need to be replaced.

Love Indian Shores

We love Indian Shores and this is our second time staying at Sandcastle I. The condo is described accurately and has a great view. The only things we would change are- the water pressure is terrible and the mattress on the full bed needs to be replaced. Otherwise a great location and vacation spot.

Good location

This unit had a beautiful view. Location is also good as there are shops and restaurants located nearby. It's not the best if you're an avid seashell hunter, which I am, but I did find shells that were new to me. This was my first time to the gulf and I understand it can be that way unless a storm comes in. I'm not sure if Abby is the property manager, but I put 5 stars because she was great. The unit could use a deep cleaning and updating which I understand could be coming up with the new ownership. The beach was never really crowded which we also liked.

Sandcastle I Review

The condo was nice. However, the listing is misleading. The bed in the small room by the door is not a full size bed. Bed was too small to be a full size bed. There was no coffee pot for the coffee maker. No iron was available either. Batteries in the remotes need to be replaced. Beach was very nice and pool area was nice as well.

The biggest problem was parking. It DOES say 1 parking space but i totally missed that. As a 3 bedroom condo (we had 3 generations of family with 3 cars staying) 1 spot was a REAL problem. We had to pay quite a bit for public parking for the week. Take this into consideration when staying. Also the 3rd bedroom is VERY tiny. It might have been ok for children but was a struggle for us as we were all adults. The balcony however was wonderful! It is handicap friendly which was a plus for us. Would like to see some kind of board walk all the way to ocean for wheel chair bound people .

Needs new cleaning service

I stayed in another unit in at Sandcastle 1 last year, and it was laid out exactly like this one. Very accommodating for my family. There were clothes left in a drawer in the bedroom along with garbage. These drawers were definitely not checked, let alone cleaned. There was a used toothbrush left in the bathroom. The rug in the living room was sticky and needs a deep cleaning. We found a pitcher of lemonade in one of the cabinets for some reason. I understand it is not feasible to deep clean a condo every Saturday betweens renters, but you could tell it hadn't been deep cleaned in quite some time. There was very thick dust on the furniture and under the beds. I brought these issues to Pinellas Vacation Rentals' attention via a response to an email they sent me, but I did not receive a response. Also: the check out instructions ask you to do clean and put away all dishes; however, there was a load of dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived. I love this location. Indian Shores is my favorite beach in the US. It is quiet and great for families, but you can be in Clearwater in all the action in 20 minutes. I will stay at Sandcastle 1 again, but not in this particular unit. I clean enough at home...I don't want to clean on vacation, too.

Lacking cleanliness

We’ve stayed in Sandcastle many times, and love the building and love the area. However, unfortunately, this condo was by far the worst we’ve ever stayed in. The worst thing was when my teenage son went to get in his bed the first night and it was apparent that the sheets had not been washed. There were yellow spots and some black fuzzies on them. Once I washed them, all of that was no longer there. The long hallway entrance rug was caked in sand, like it had never been vacuumed or even shaken out. There were stains all over the living room furniture and the dining chairs and bench. The entire condo needs a fresh coat of paint. They’ve replaced the mirror in the bathroom, and it’s smaller than previous mirror so the paint around it is a different color. The walls just had dirt all over them, and chips out of the paint. The master shower was so difficult to turn on that we were afraid we might break it. So I called management and left a VM to ask about it. Then figured it out before they called back. They were very nice when they called, but asked me how I ended up getting it on because they get 3-4 phone calls a month asking about it, and wanted to know themselves so they could pass it along. (I also mentioned the dirty sheets and all they did was ask which room they were in). I feel like a lot of the decor has been updated, it looked nice. The building is great, Indian Shores is beautiful, but if you’re looking for a clean condo, I would not recommend this one. (I never leave reviews, but do read a lot of them, so sharing in hopes it helps someone else).

We enjoyed our stay overall, although 2 of the tv’s in the condo were not functioning. Communication with the property manager was very efficient and helpful though! The beach equipment on the balcony was left a mess when we arrived. The cleanliness could be improved, we had to wear shoes inside when we arrived because the floors were not clean. Location and beach was great, cute little town!

I read reviews to help me decide so hope this helps someone else. Overall our stay was great. A few minor inconveniences will probably keep me from staying again. The cleaning crew did not do a good job which I informed the management company of. They offered for them to come back but I had already cleaned it up.

Thanksgiving vacation

We had been awaiting our vacation for most of this year. We looked at a lot of rentals that fit the idea we had. Sandcastle 1 did not disappoint, everything in the condo was as described and more. The view was amazing, I found myself just sitting there looking with awe. Getting up early with my 5 year old watching the dolphins swim by was a great memory! The pool and hot tub were good as well, but being from Wisconsin we went to the beach the most! Wasn't over crowded, clean soft white sand, plenty of shells to pick up as well. Overall we had a 10 star vacation while staying here. Plenty of room for 6, full kitchen was useful and plenty of seating with million dollar views! Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful interior

The newly renovated condo was beautiful. The master bed was very uncomfortable, luckily the other beds were comfortable and available to use! The ocean view from the patio was spectacular with daily dolphin sightings. The kitchen appliances were gorgeous and the craft ice maker was super cool! The dryer was too squeaky to use when we were in the condo, there was a drainage issue that required a plumber but was addressed quickly. All the batteries in the remotes were dead or missing. We've stayed in sandcastle 1,2, 3 and this property wasn't as clean as the others- trash around pool often, rocks in pool and hot tub. Seems like a lot of complaints but overall it was a great stay.

Great condo on an amazing beach!

Our family of 4 stayed in this condo for one week in August and everything was great. The kitchen is well supplied, the condo was clean and well decorated. This unit has been recently renovated, which is definitely a big plus compared to other units at Sand Dollar. We enjoyed it's perfect location, facing the gulf of Mexico. Beautiful sunsets every evening!

Great place!

This is an amazing place, we loved our stay! Getting to the hotel was super easy! The room was clean and very nice, we loved the view from the balcony and from the bedroom! Million dollar view!

The condo was beautiful and very clean. You can tell it has been recently remodeled. The beach access was so easy and not at all crowded which is what we really loved. A few minor maintenance issues were addressed swiftly. Would recommend. *****!
