We traveled extensively in Guanacaste before choosing Playa Hermosa as our home away from home. Playa Hermosa is only a 30-minute drive from the Liberia airport and has a beautiful beach with wonderful restaurants all within walking distance of our villa. Villa Estrella is one of the most luxuriously appointed condominiums in the resort complex. We have great ocean views and are only a ten-minute walk from the beach and a two-minute walk to the resort pool and bar.

We are located within the gated resort of Villa Sol and as our guest, you have access to the free shuttle that will take you around the resort grounds and to the beach. You have all the benefits of resort-style living with access to the pools, restaurants, and tennis courts, with the privacy of your own home situated in a calm and quiet location to optimize relaxation during your vacation. The exclusive community of Villas Sol is securely gated and employs a 24-hour guard staff.

We are managed by Home Together and they will arrange for airport shuttles, grocery shopping, in-room massage or personal chef, and tour options in the area.

We are a fifteen-minute drive from Playa Cocos, which is a larger town with lots of nightlife and restaurants. We love to visit Playa Ocotal and it’s beautiful black sand beach and we enjoy eating at Father Roosters. . We visit Playa Tamarindo for surfing lessons and enjoy visiting Playa Flamingo as they have some great restaurants, both within a 90-minute drive from Playa Hermosa.

We recommend having a car during your stay as there are so many great areas to visit within a very short radius with day trips to each of these beach towns as well as to Rincon de la Vieja State Park. If you prefer a vacation without the stress of having to drive to different areas and prefer using our concierge services to arrange for day trips, you will be fine! You can reserve a shuttle to bring you from the airport to our villa which are within walking distance of the grocery store and all the fabulous restaurants within and near the resort.

Villa Estrella has beautiful and modern furnishings to make your vacation stay very relaxed, enjoyable, and unforgettable. The living area is spacious with an open floor plan between the living area and the gourmet kitchen. The kitchen is fully upgraded with granite countertops, gas stove, dishwasher and all the items you will need for meal preparation at home.

The large veranda is completely furnished with comfortable lounge furniture to enjoy the amazing ocean view with a large covered outdoor dining area.

The plunge pool on the patio provides the perfect opportunity to relax and cool off while enjoying the beautiful sunsets over Playa Hermosa. Both bedrooms have direct access to the veranda and the ocean views.

Each bedroom features a spacious king-size bed with custom built-in closet space and flat screen television in each bedroom. The villa very comfortably accommodates 6 guests with a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. Each bedroom has beautiful furnishings with luxury linens and bed coverings. The baths are all spacious and beautifully appointed with a bidet in the guest bath.

A washer and dryer facilitate packing light and central air conditioning and internet access with television with Netflix/amazon capabilities round out the package.

At Villa Estrella, you have it all. We have snorkel equipment, beach chairs, beach towels, tennis rackets and balls, beach toys, and a portable cooler available for your use during your stay.

The host was very responsive and helpful. We loved the shuttles for getting around. We found many beach front restaurants within walking distance from resort dropoff. The view is truly one of the best anywhere with the most stunning sunsets. The unit needs refreshing in many areas. We adopted the peaceful approach with pura vida and made the most of our 10 day stay.

This is a clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped villa within a safe and hospitable resort. The shaded balcony area is lovely and the plunge pool was a welcome oasis on our 95F degree days.If you use the resort transportation system it’s easy to get to the beach or the hotel pool where sunsets are spectacular.

Villa Estrella is beautiful inside & out! The furnishings were very nice with a fully stocked kitchen for us to cook meals. The patio, pool and view were amazing & truly made this the best vacation spot ever! I highly recommend Villa Estrella if you want to have a special time in paradise!

Just Getting Away

We were in Costa Rica four years ago and did all of the "touristy things" so this trip was just to get away and relax. This property had everything we needed to accomplish that from being fully furnished and outfitted, nice deck to relax and plunge in the pool, watch the sunset, etc. And it was so easy to catch the ride down to the beach which we did almost every day for long relaxed walks.

A lovely stay!

Our stay was just perfect. The condo was clean and fully stocked. We especially enjoyed the patio, where the sunsets were amazing and the pool welcomed us. This unit is in between the well traveled community road and the main road just behind it, creating lots of car noise all day long. But the trees and coziness of the patio did provide plenty of privacy. The community was well maintained, clean, and super nice. I would absolutely stay at Lenore's place again!

Perfect stay

Everything was amazing. Such a beautiful and well furnished/equipped space that met all of our needs for a family of four. The check in process was simple, and the walk to/from the beach is doable (although the hill does require some energy.) I will say there is a bit of street noise, but it's not anything to stress over. Pura Vida. The sunsets are beautiful. Perfect stay. Thanks so much!

Lovely Villa

This was our 8th visit to Costa Rica and we found the villa to be very lovely. It is very well appointed in all ways and the porch with the plunge pool was fantastic. With two large bedrooms, good sized kitchen, sizable indoor living space and outdoor table and lounging area, there was easily enough space gor r adults. The views of the ocean, palm trees, birds and the gentle breezes in the morning and evening were amazing. We were able to walk down and along the beach most days. Playa Hermosa is quiet, friendly, and beautiful with several nice but pricy restaurants. The excellent prearrival comunication with Lynore, the extensive arrival guide and the property management and concierge service were really helpful. Dani the concierge helped us find an oustanding boat charter where we spent an afternoon snorkelling, visiting the mangrove forest, fishing and whale watching. We did find the nearby main road to be a bit noisy for us at certain times of the day. Overall we had a fantastic trip.

Fantastic view, shuttle is a leg saver!

Gorgeously set up and decorated condo a short downhill walk to a great beach with snorkeling (bring your own gear, you won’t be able to rent it and masks at condo aren’t professional). You can see amazing fish right around the rocks on the north end of the beach. Hard to park near the beach, also recommend the shuttle from the front desk. We didn’t notice until we read again closely that the bonus bedroom is not included, however the pullout couch worked nicely. Overall a great place to see and don’t miss the afternoon monkeys the prowl the rope network thru the trees on the beach!

Beautiful condo in Playa Hermosa

This was a really wonderful condo for our family vacation to Guanacaste area of Costa Rica. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful deck, with its view of the ocean, private plunge pool and some great chairs - great place to hang out. We like to cook on vacation, and the kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances and had everything we could have asked for. Bedrooms and living room were spacious, modern and pretty luxurious. There were some nice touches that we don't expect at places we rent - the owners provided a cell phone for local use and a GPS unit, which was useful for the trip we took to visit Monte Verde cloud forest. The Villa Sol resort was very nice, several large pools to spend time in and also close to the Playa Hermosa beach. We highly recommend this condo for your Costa Rica vacation.

Great location, amazing views, and friendly neighbourhood!

Location of villa is amazing! Yes, it is uphill for a bit of a hike but this means incredible sunsets and views, and the shuttle runs directly by the Villa if you want to go to the beach or restaurant at resort…… but like Lynore says, the resort restaurant is less highly recommended than area restaurants, A great commute for day trips to the rain forest,and easy access to groceries and supplies. The plunge pool is incredible to have after a day exploring, and anytime we needed anything the property manager was very helpful! Thank you Lynore and team for an amazing vacation property!!! Sebastian was perfect in helping out when the propane for the grill ran out and anything we needed was handled right away! An amazing place to spend our vacation and will definitely come back! Thank you Lynore, Sebastian and team!!!

sorry guys but most things were great,and thanks for taking care of those issues for us,and the bed was much to hard for my wife and I but we took the hide a bed mattress and put it on the bed to make it more livable but we are light sleepers and being wright on the main road the car noise was unbearable so had very little sleep the whole time we stayed there, cars and motorcycles zooming by starting at 4 am.

Wonderful

While it’s a hike to get up to the condo from where we parked the car, it was clean, spacious, comfortable, and a paradise. The private swimming made the difference, that includes a stunning panoramic view. This combo set itself apart for from other units in Villa Sol. If you don’t have a car, the regular rounds of Villa Sol shuttles drops you off and picks you up right at the base of the condo, which cuts the hike by 50%. The condo is well supplied for cooking, lounging in the pool, and comes with chairs, an umbrella, and snorkeling equipment for the family, including beach toys for the kids and young at heart. Proximity to Playa Hermosa (beach) is close, and Villa Sol shuttles takes you right there from any condo unit. Big Kudos to the La Casita Del Marisco restaurant right on Hermosa beach. From the road, it doesn’t look like a place you want eat, but the atmosphere, the quality of the food & drinks, are all excellent, as is their pricing. They make cocktails like they’re supposed to be made, not like how the concentrated sugar bombs most other places in the area, including at Playa Coco, typically make them - diabetic concoctions. Sunsets at the Villa Sol pool and bars at the top are spectacular. But beware, their tropical drinks are sugar bombs there too, so BYOB.

Beautiful view!

I stayed with my husband and 5 year old son. I loved the safety of the plunge pool for my son! Not deep but deep enough for cooling. We enjoyed coffee and the view from the pool every morning. The resort was nice and pool with swim up bar is a 2 minute walk. The beach is close by. Shuttle comes often but we didn’t use it. The area is pretty quiet but nice. We went to playa del coco several times only 10 minutes away for larger grocery stores, many restaurants and shops. We loved the beach there as well. The condo is beautiful. The beds are extremely comfortable and so much storage for unpacking. The patio is very spacious. Having laundry is so nice even though you live in your bathing suit!! We would absolutely stay again! We had a flight issue and requested an additional night. Almost immediate response and we had our additional night. Took so much stress away. Thanks again!!!

Charged us for thing we didnt took

Be aware! They charged us almost 400 usd for things we didnt took. Nobody went to the house on our arrival and no body received the place when we left (we had to send an email at our arrival for the code because there was no body to receive us) and now they are claiming that stuff is missing! Its a scam! You leave the place and then they say stuff is missing! Also the prices charged for things they claim were missing is ridiculously high! When you ask for an explanation or a picture they simply charge you the stuff! Also dont belive the reviews, one is made by the manager or owner (Lynore)

Great location and spacious rental

Overall we were happy with the accommodations. Proximity to many restaurants and grocery stores. Bathrooms were tired and asking guests not to flush toilet paper (this should be disclosed prior to booking). Bidet was not functional (not even hooked up). Glass pool wall in picture is out-dated. Glass around top of pool was very dirty and pool was not well maintained. Pool guy came once and never emptied the filter which needed it badly. Lots of bugs in door tracks, but overall kitchens and bathrooms were clean upon arrival. No coffee filters, but property manager did bring a basket, had to make shift from paper towel the first day. Safe was locked by previous guest and we were not able to utilize during our stay despite reporting; however, area was very safe and non-issue. Beds were very comfortable and lots of closet space. We spent most of our time at rental on the covered porch which was a great set up. BBQ was clean and functional. Description of basic spices and condiments being provided is a bit of a stretch - pepper was pretty much empty and only enough salt due to prior guests. Zero condiments. If you plan on cooking in would recommend bringing your own. Otherwise kitchen was well stocked. Knives were very dull, had a hard time cutting a lime. It was really all just little things, but nothing that took away from our vacation.

Villa Estrella was owned by one of the developers of Villa Sol and the location is amazing. We have beautiful views and love relaxing in our own plunge pool. We have a full gourmet kitchen and central air and really love spending our evenings on the spacious patio. We have a full dining table on the patio that seats 10 and makes this a wonderful setting to spend evenings with our family.

What makes this property unique

I love being able to take the shuttle to and from the beach which makes carrying all our beach toys much easier. We love being able to walk 200 m to the swimming pool, but if we just want to have drinks and enjoy the sunset, we can do that in our own plunge pool overlooking Playa Hermosa. We are close to parking which makes it convenient when unloading our luggage and groceries. We have the benefits of a complex while having our own separate home.
