Enjoy Southern Grandeur and Comfort in one of the most majestic homes in Apalachicola! 6 Suites and 1 Studio available. Located in the center of the Historic District and less than two blocks from the restaurants, shops, galleries and pubs!

The AUTUMN MOON SUITE is a huge suite on 2nd floor of the Majestic Jewel Inn, located just blocks away from Historical downtown. It is bright & sunny with an amazing view from the bay window which is flanked with room darkening drapes. Beautifully furnished with a very comfortable KING SIZE bed, camel back sofa & chair, smart tv (but no cable) & small fridge. The addition of a modern bathroom with tiled shower completes the suite. It opens up to a shared living room & access to the sitting area on the upper veranda. Six other suites & a Hospitality Lobby, Kitchenette, Grand Salon & Dining Room are available for guests to enjoy. Although we are NOT a B & B, we do supply guests with self-serve coffee, tea, cold drinks, bottle water, milk, cereal & oatmeal PLUS an excellent environment to mix & mingle or simply relax! We thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacation in Apalachicola! The Majestic Jewel was perfect for our stay. It is such a lovely and interesting historical home, full of so much to see and do! We appreciated all the extra touches such as the coffee bar with snacks and water and the evening music playing as we came back in. The porches were fabulous for morning coffee and evening wine. Greg was a gracious host, and we hope to meet June on the next visit. We will definitely stay here again!

The house is beautiful, our room was great - the bed was comfy, we both slept well and rested. Very close to downtown so we walked. June and Greg were great hosts; we definitely want to return for another visit as this was our first to this area versus PCB!

Weekend Stay

A beautiful room in a historic and well restored building that makes you think of the boarding houses of past days. Close to everything you need - restaurants, beaches, bars, groceries - and most within walking distance. The hosts and cleaning staff were super friendly and helpful in finding our way around town and having coffee on the front porch in the morning was so relaxing. A perfect weekend stay away from the crowded beach locations.

A MAJESTIC getaway!

WE loved everything about the Majestic Jewel. It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing, clean, and easy to get to downtown areas that we wanted to visit. It was close enough to beaches that we "beach hopped" each day which was definitely an adventure. We will most definitely be back to stay there!

A beautiful house that has a very unique history and the home owners put the entire story in a notebook in your room for you to read. The house is very close to downtown so you can walk instead of drive. We had a very nice stay.

Truly is majestic

What a spectacular house with rich history. We enjoyed being able to read about the property. It is close to town, so you can walk everywhere if you choose. We really liked that we could arrive late and not have to bother anyone to check in. The Autumn Moon Suite was beautiful and super comfortable. It is rare to have a bed and pillows that are so comfortable. We will be back.

This could get to be a regular thing

Lovely accommodations, peaceful, a short walk to the downtown area with the river, shops, and brewery. Couldn’t ask for a better escape. And while unfortunate, they stress COVID precautions and prevention. This was a repeat trip and we are already planning on returning again.

Greg & June's dream came true when they purchased this historic home in Apalachicola! They were determined to bring this jewel back to life! With the help of a few good friends & countless electricians & plumbers, their vision became a reality!

They love sharing their home & the charming little town of Apalachicola with guests. Meeting interesting people and sharing their jewel with others is the biggest perk of hosting!

After selling their import business in 2020, they are able to spend about 70% of the month in Apalachicola & the remainder at their home in Atlanta. Although they are not in residence 100% of the time, they welcome requests from guests who prefer to visit while they are there.

Why they chose this property

In 2017, seeking to simplify life, the search was on for an opportunity to open a "small" business in Apalachicola. All roads kept leading back to the "jewel"! It had so much potential yet had been sitting dark & empty for almost 8 years! It was originally built in 1908 as a private residence for the family of a prominent German immigrant who made his wealth in the dry goods industry in Apalachicola. It did not change hands until the 1980's when it was bought, restored & converted into a bank & an insurance agency. The old bank lobby is now the Hospitality Lobby & guest kitchenette. History of the home & its people are exhibited here.

Although they did not simplify their life, the potential of the "jewel" called their names and the rest is part of her history! The "Jewel of Apalachicola", as the town folk called her, became the MAJESTIC JEWEL INN & hosted the first couple on December 31th, 2017 right in time for the new year of 2018!

June & Greg are repeatedly told by guests that this home is so majestic yet comfortable & serene! It must be seen & felt! Photos do not do it justice!

Staying at the Majestic Jewel is the best way to experience southern grandeur in the charming little town of Apalachicola. Located in the center of the historic district, beauty is all around. So much to see & do! Walk less than 2 blocks to the enjoy the galleries, shops, restaurants & night life. The river wharf & the bay are 4 blocks away and St George Island is only a 10 minute drive!

Guests love sitting on the wrap around veranda, to relax & catch the eternal breeze! It is simply the best place in town!
