Lakeside getaway at picturesque Lake Okareka
This unique property offers small and large groups the opportunity to get away from it all and relax and enjoy the view of beautiful Lake Okareka. This property also features on my own 2 Lakes site if your preference is to deal directly and with no fees.

This recently renovated family holiday home is lovingly decorated and reflects the Dutch heritage of the owners of the property while also offering a brand new kitchen and two full modern bathrooms.

The front porch and lawn is the perfect place to relax during the day, gaze out at the water, read books and sunbathe. The private courtyard out the back has a bbq and outdoor seating area, and is great for drinks and dining in the evening.

Sleeps up to 10 people, this property offers WiFi (Fibre), heat pump, TV, as well as USB charging points in all bedrooms.

Lake Okareka’s public boat ramp is just metres away and also has a large extended jetty for swimming and launching boats. This lake is very popular for boating, water skiing, kayaking and sailing, and offers great trout fishing opportunities year round.

The Lake Okareka Reserve and Boardwalk is just a 10 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding area, as well as a bird watching paradise.

The property is an excellent home base for those visiting Rotorua for hiking, mountain biking, fishing and boating, with plenty of secure off-street parking.

It’s a 3-minute drive to Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake) which offers excellent swimming, a playground and waterskiing, and a 10 minute drive to Lake Tarawera.

Only a 15 - 20 minute drive from central Rotorua attractions, including the geothermal mud pools, Redwoods - Whakarewarewa Forest biking trails and walks, Polynesian Spa and Skyline Luge.

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
It would be really helpful if you do the dishes and empty the dishwasher before leaving.
If leaving before Monday 9am please put the rubbish bins out on the road verge. Recycling is every 2nd week & look at other properties to see if more than the RED lid is required to be put out thanks.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Cleaning and Linen are mandatory and linen costs $35 per person. The website shows it for 1 person
FISH POND Those with small children must take extra care
If you are staying on a Sunday night please put the rubbish bins out on the road verge. Collection is Monday mornings regardless of public holidays

Lovely Getaway

We loved our stay at this property. What wasn’t modernised was charming but the large updated kitchen was so good, as was the two bathrooms. We could dine at any of the three areas & the barbecue we used as well The children loved the lake front & jetty, great for down time

VOGELENZANG

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location and the new kitchen, bathrooms etc were excellent. Can see that it is a well loved family location, we hope to return again next year. The boats in storage looked superb, used to race a Paper Tiger years ago, next year will be bring paddleboards down and model yachts. Great location for mountain biking and exploring the area. Thank you.

Great holiday house

Great homely holiday house with everything you could need. Great amenities and beautiful location right across from the lake. The only warning i would give parents with young ones is becareful of the glass doors. We had 3 little ones run straight in to them and hurt themselves because there is no safety stickers on them and they are super clear. I'd recommend this place for a nice family getaway.

Can't fault the location, but the house was strange. Partially renovated but the living/dining was still original and not in a good way. It was very dark and not very welcoming. Would probably stay again though just because of the location.

Great place

This house has the most amazing view and if you want to get away for some R & R, it's the perfect spot. The kitchen and two bathrooms are designed for a large group and work very well. Our only difficulty was not having a phone number to ring while we were there. The air conditioner was difficult to work and it would have helped to be able to ask someone about it.

Excellent location across the road from the boat ramp. Older house but nice modern kitchen and bathrooms. Rubbish bin and recycling hadn't been put out for some time but overall a very pleasant stay. Host good to deal with.
