Paradise in Provence- A Quiet Retreat (3BR) with Pool, Terrace, Barbecue, Garden

The property is located approximately 7 minutes to Tourrettes-sur-Loup, a charming medieval village that sits between the sea (about 14 kilometres away) and the Alpes Maritime. Take a look at the property in summer using the video link on this page.

The ground level of the house (the upper level is unoccupied during rentals) and guest cottage has 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths. It is ideal for 3 couples but there are 3 extra day beds. A playpen and high chair is also available for babies. There is a full kitchen as well as a small kitchenette in the separate guest cottage. The property is south facing with a beautiful 13 meter swimming pool, gets sun throughout the day, and is still bright in the long summer evenings. The pool is open from June through September.

This is a very comfortable campus for friends and family. The stone wall terraced garden has olive, orange, lemon, mandarin, apricot, cherry, and fig trees. Imagine eating on the outdoor terrace in the evening in the midst of the many rosemary and lavender bushes that dot the property. There are also many places to get away to read or just sit and relax.

Long summer evenings with a southern exposure, a beautiful swimming pool, and plenty of room on the property to wander.

The views are spectacular! There is even a petanque court shaded by two mulberry trees. This is a house that has become a favorite destination for many friends and family and there have been many repeat visitors.

The property was exactly what we were looking for: Provence back-country feel with olive and fig trees and pool, located in the middle of the Loup region. This enabled us to use the property as our base to visit Grasse, St-Paul-de-Vence, Tourette-sur Loup and Gourdon. We had already visited the coast but a day trip to Antibes, Monaco, Nice or Èze Villabe is also possible if driving 40-90 minutes is not an issue. Expect however sinuous country road. The hot temperature was not an issue for us with the use of ceiling fans but a/c would be nice upgrade. The kitchen is well equipped and the BBQ worked well. The pool was perfectly refreshing and well maintained. The owner and his manager are super responsive and friendly.

We had an absolutely brilliant time in Tourettes Sur Loop! The villa was gorgeous and as pictured, the pool was ideal for the hot temperatures, and it had everything we needed for a restful week. Kevin’s clear instructions were great for making our way to the Villa from the airport.

Great property in Beautiful setting

We had a great stay with some unique experiences that made us laugh til we cried. We had a few challenges with the driving and some unexpected visitors, but all-in-all, a great stay.

Wonderful location

We had a great stay in the villa, which had a fantastic garden and swimmingpool. My favorite way to start the Day, was with a cup of coffee with my book sitting amongst the olive trees. Swimmingpool was large and perfect for our Family. The location close to the town was great.

A beautiful spot on earth

We spent a week here with our kids and our friends and were absolutely amazed at how well kept and beautiful everything was. Everything you need is available and the stillness was superb. We will definitely return next year!

I've stayed in this villa...

I've stayed in this villa twice and had a relaxing time both times. Warm sun shine, large pool, ancient olive trees, comfortable beds in naturally cool rooms, and nearby great places to eat if you want a change from the villa's relaxing enclosed bbq area. Even tried my hand at playing the piano. Definitely a place to stay.

My family and I stayed he...

My family and I stayed here for a week this past summer and it was the most amazing vacation we have ever gone on. The property itself is fantastic. We could have spent the week enjoying the house, the pool, and the game alone, but we were able to day trips to Cannes, Italy and Monaco. The house is in a wonderful locations conducive to easy travel. I will return soon.

A Fabulous Stay in the Cote d'Azur

We had the most fabulous stay in this lovely home near the little village of Tourettes sur loup. Lovely grounds, swimming pool, outdoor dining, privacy. The village is charming and the locals very friendly. You couldn't ask for a better base to explore this amazing area in the Cote d'Azur. We explored numerous charming villages, as well as the more well known, Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice. At the end of a busy day, coming back to this lovely home was pure comfort! We would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous holiday property . We had an amazing time at the villa. It is set in large,well kept gardens with a lovely view from the top terraces. The swimming pool was the highlight - a great size with plenty of sun beds/ chairs .We spent a lot of time in it - great to cool off as the weather was very hot. The villa was perfect for us - 5 adults. Having the separate cottage was a bonus for my son and his girlfriend to have their own space. It was very well equipped with everything you could need -kitchen utensils , cooker , books,games to name a few .It was spotlessly clean and well furnished . The main bedroom is huge with a big bathroom. We were a little worried as there is no air con but you really don’t need it . The villa is cool inside with ceiling fans and we were fine despite it being very hot . It is set in a very peaceful location about 15 minutes from Tourrettes sur loup ,the nearest village which is set on a hill . There are several large supermarkets within a 20 minute drive . You definitely need a car to get about but it is an ideal location to visit lovely medieval villages and about 40 minutes to Nice and the coast. Must just mention Alicia who met us at the property with the keys and showed us around . She was so helpful and went above and beyond to help us when we left a bag at the property . Highly recommend this property and we will definitely be back in the future.

Beautiful setting away from the crowds

Beautiful garden with dito pool. Seperate small house in garden. House itself is spacy, kitchen well supplied, good beds. Mosquitos end of day are hazard but consequence of watering gardens. House lies remote reached through steep road off main road. Price-quality of house excellent

I have been very fortunat...

I have been very fortunate to have stayed at this fine house on several occasions at various times of the year. The owner took great care in selecting the lovely location and property - and then took great care in restoring and decorating the house to a very high standard, as well as adding a fine, separate pool house. It is a great place to relax, recharge batteries, use as a base for exploring this wonderful region, or to use as a retreat for creative endeavours. Oh...and kids love the pool, the barbecue, the 'boules', and the loads of fun activities around Nice, Monaco and NW Italy.

ODE TO VILLA LA COMBE AU LOUP

The color and bustle of a small medieval French village on marketplace morning—fresh fish and flowers, art and antiques, the artists’ town of Tourettes sur Loup quickly became our favorite. Perched among flowering fruit trees with the scent of clear fresh mountain air, looking out to sea… All of this was ours at Villa “La Combe au Loup” As we gathered at this beautiful villa after the end of a day of visiting magnificent art museums and seaside restaurants, it was always the best part of the day. It was like Paradise in Provence😎

Our stay was nothing short of magical in what truly felt like the best place on Earth. We were fortunate to find a beautiful house that had everything we needed and more. The pool was perfect and became our daily retreat. Our group consisted of three adults and three teenagers (18, 17, and 17), and the space was ideal for both relaxation and fun. The peaceful surroundings were a delight, with a baby deer occasionally visiting the breathtaking garden filled with vibrant flowers. Parking was a breeze, with ample space for our two cars behind secure gates. The owner was always on hand and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this slice of "heaven on earth" in France. It was a trip we'll always treasure! 😍

Great villa in a great location

Just stayed eight nights. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. The house offers all you need including very good beds. Good size pool and a very cozy patio. The garden are magnificent with several levels and places to sit and relax. No matter how warm it gets, you will always find a chilly spot in the shadow. Property manger okay. Friendly and on time. The owner, Kevin, is very helpful and answer your questions / request more or less immediately – and very informative. Highly appreciated, and at a level we never have experienced the thirty years we have been renting houses in Europe. The location is simply ideal for exploring the Côte d'Azur. We can only highly recommend this villa, La Combe au Loup.

My children and I had a ...

My children and I had a magical vacation in this magnificent home. I felt as if someone had dropped us in an advertisement for a fantasy vacation in Provence. Besides having all the comforts of home and then some, the location cannot be beat. We were able to easily get around to visit Nice, Monte Carlo, San Remo, Italy, Cannes, and of course the beautiful, charming, and historical town of Tourrettes Sur Loup itself. Don't miss the temptingly delicious offerings in the local patisseries and restaurants. After exploring the surroundings, it's wonderful to come home to the beautiful yard and warm pool, snip herbs from the garden to add spice to your al fresco dining experience, and top off your meal with tea brewed from freshly picked verbena leaves growing next to the rosemary bushes. Once you visit this impeccably maintained home once, you will want to return year after year.

Wonderful Place

We have stayed here two years in a row and find it magical. The grounds are really special with various fruit trees and levels and a boule court... and the outdoor covered area is a perfect place to hang out and grill or just have some wine.. The pool is perfect and it will be hard to leave as it’s great to just hang out. The local villages are just a few minutes away by car. You do need a car to stay here I believe but the hikes surrounding the house are great and my son has fun picking the blackberries off the numerous bushes. Tourettes and Vence are nearby and offer fun. The owner of the house has always been super friendly and helpful and the couple he has taking care of the house, Adam and Julia, are truly lovely people who can be over in ten minutes if you have any issues. Overall I’d say it’s an idyllic place for a family if you want to get away to these parts, which I find quite amazing. Great vibes, a beautifully planted piece of property, and overall a special place.

It is truly gratifying to have people who stay at my home to feel the same way about it that I do. Of course, the ultimate accolade is to have repeat visitors. There is plenty of space on the grounds to walk and pick fruit from the trees (cherries, figs, mirabelle) or just sit and relax by the pool. There are also night lights for swimming in the pool after dark, and also by the petanque court for late evening games. We want all of our visitors to relax when they get here so we try to think of everything that could make their stay comfortable.

Perfect place to stay with a family

We stayed with 4 adults and 2 kids and had a wonderful time. It is a perfect place to stay with kids as the garden is really huge (even bigger as it seems in the pictures) and has a lot of level lawn area to play on. Much attention to detail such as petanque field shaded by mulberry trees which can be illuminated in the evening or a very cosy outside dining area with an outdoor kitchen style gas grill. Pool has a great size as well. Everything was very well maintained. The inside area of the house provided everything we needed during our stay such as a well equipped kitchen, although the outdoor space is clearly what makes it an exceptional place to stay. The location is super quiet, especially in the evening and at night. It is slightly a bit of a longer drive to bigger supermarkets or restaurants (about 15 mins) as you have to get out of the valley first, but it did not bother us at all. Communication with the owner and the property manager was professional and very smooth, same for check-in and check-out. We really enjoyed the stay and would love to come back a second time!

The entire experience was A - professionally managed, courteous, responsive, considerate- the host and owner ensured that our booking, fact gathering, and actual stay exceeded our expectations. As someone who has stayed in hundreds of vacation rentals, things can understandably sometimes miss the understood property value or your host can be less patient with 'newbie' or accidental matters. The hosts were there for any questions - and we had them- and warmly tried to support our vacation with local advice and detailed help on managing the house. The house comes as advertised and is even more tranquil in the late afternoons and early evenings than understoood; it is an older design so the internal layout does not have a central room but the bedrooms are very comfortable, the kitchen well put together and appliances we used worked well and easy, and the highlight is the outside "central" covered veranda, we spent so much time there early and late as a family. The nearby villages come with outrageous charm and optionality for your interests. We found it hard to venture too far from the house and nearby villages as they were that perfect. I recommend them all for different reasons- dining, art, swimming, exploring/hiking, wandering. The element of the house location not fully depicted is the relationship to northern more mountainous villages. We visited the lower French Alps and some great outdoor and alpine cultures about 90 minutes through amazing gorges.

I grew up in New York City and have worked in many places including the Caribbean, Washington, DC, Monaco, London, and Paris. My professional field is telecom/IT. My business life is hectic with lots of travel but I get back to this house to rejuvenate as often as I can.

Why they chose this property

I lived and worked in Monaco for 3 years and bought this house as a second home before moving to London. It is approximately 7 minutes to Tourrettes-sur-Loup, a charming medieval village that sits between the sea (about 14 kilometres away) and the Alpes Maritime. It is known as the 'City of Violets' because it is a center for the cultivation of that flower which is used in perfumes manufactured in nearby Grasse.

Appreciated by film producers since 1925, Tourrettes became a meeting place for musicians, painters, writers and poets. Artisan weavers also settled there and today more than thirty workshops and galleries are located in the town.

What makes this property unique

You are 30 minutes from Nice airport, and the same amount of time if you want to go to the beaches of Nice or Cannes.

The hills here are lovely, quiet, and peaceful especially during the summer rush. Market day in the central town square of Tourrettes is every Wednesday where you can buy locally produced cheeses, meats, and other tasty items as well as high quality fabrics.

If you do want to leave the property, there is plenty to see. Cannes, Mougins, and Nice are each about 30 minutes drive and offer many attractions including restaurants, museums, and cinema. Monaco is about 1 hour away so you can go for the day and return to the property to relax with an evening swim.

Italy can become a day trip as the northern Italian border is easily reachable within 1 hour!

Culturally, this is a very sophisticated location and you have access to the Foundation Maeght (15 minutes), one of the premier art museums in Europe. Also, there is a Matisse museum in Nice and the Matisse Chapel in Vence (15 minutes), Picasso museum in Antibes, and the home of Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer. Golf is available in Opio (20 minutes) and tennis right in the town.

During the summer months there are many music festivals throughout the French Riviera, including Jazz a Juan in Juan Les Pins and the Monte Carlo Summer Music Festival.

In the winter you can go skiing for the day at Auron or Isola 2000 and be back in the evening for dinner.
