Excellent long-term stay
My husband, 2 yr old daughter, and I stayed at Liane's gorgeous house for a month as we were moving to Oakland from the East Coast. It was the perfect landing pad for our family. The house is gorgeous (the photos don't do it justice!), clean, and very well maintained. It has everything you need for a long term stay. Liane was incredibly responsive and helpful. Finally, the neighborhood is terrific - close to Piedmont Ave shops and restaurants yet on a quiet street with very friendly neighbors. Highly recommend and already plotting for my parents to stay there when visiting!

Wonderful neighborhood!
This house worked out well for us to be able to help nearby family with health issues. The neighborhood is charming, friendly, and close to lots of restaurants and shopping. The house is comfortable, with a great kitchen and a small patio where we spent many afternoons catching some sun. The owner was very easy to communicate with and we look forward to staying there again.

Charming house
The house was very clean and charming. Quiet neighborhood, parking available and you can walk to the shops on Piedmont Ave. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Would love to stay there again on our next visit to the area. Great stay!

Great house in a great location
This house is in a great and super friendly neighborhood, you can't go wrong staying here! It is within easy walking distance to all the businesses on Piedmont Avenue, yet extremely quiet. This home has everything you could need during your stay - we were there for 2 months, and we really had a great time! Liane was very helpful, super friendly and easy to communicate with; and since she lives in the small Cottage right behind the house, it was no problem asking her any questions, and she always tried to accommodate us! Neighbors are super friendly, everyone knows each other, and they made us feel like this was our home, and that we were not "just renters". Great place to stay in for shorter or longer stays! Would definitely recommend it, and if the house is available next time we want to be in Oakland/Piedmont, we would certainly stay there again! Thanks Liane!!

Wonderful home away from home!
This craftsman home is spacious yet has such a cozy feel. It is beautifully decorated yet feels like home. The kitchen is fantastic, the bed is super comfortable, and the house is stocked with everything a family might need. I spent over two months here and was sorry to leave. Would definitely return. A gem in a great neighborhood!

About the host

Hello! I'm Liane Anderson. I am an Interior Designer and Professional Organizer, and have enjoyed restoring and living in this 1916 Arts and Crafts Bungalow. in 2019 I decided to convert my 2 car dilapidated garage into a little cottage and live there, as I really don't need 1400 square feet but didn't want to leave my neighborhood. It's a dream come true, and now I can share the house with folks visiting the area. Two of my adult children live about an hour away, a third is completing grad school in Boston.

Why they chose this property

As a designer, I have always admired the Arts and Crafts movement and William Morris' approach to homes:
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
This property is the second Art & Crafts home I have restored and lived in, I love their strong style without fuss, genuine materials, connection to the outdoors and best of all, a front porch.

What makes this property unique

Location is terrific, walk to everything: dozens of eateries, coffee shops, movie theater, grocery stores, vintage clothing, thrift stores, famous Fenton's ice cream parlour, drug stores, gift shops, nail salons, hair salons, you name it!
