Secluded 4 bedroom, plus loft, well maintained hand peeled log home previously featured in Log Home Digest. The main floor master suite features a private deck to the garden, walk in closet and large master bath and a separate TV. The Great Room is framed in beautiful full round log with a floor to ceiling river Rock fireplace. It is accented with large windows bringing in lots of light and stunning views. Watch your favorite movie on a 4K TV with surround sound. Wonder out to the wrap around deck for a glass of wine while the sun sets casting the perfect glow over the East range of the San Juan Mountains. Or, soak in the brand new Bullfrog 6 person Hot Tub. You will probably see Fox, Elk , Deer and a Bobcat on the property or on the way to town. The upstairs includes a large Second Master with a King Bed, separate TV and a large closet. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds, with a trundle bed. The large loft is a perfect office, a separate place to read . Just 5 minutes to City Market shopping center, Walmart, Pagosa Mountain Hospital and many restaurants. Also less than 10 minutes to historic downtown where you can soak in the Pagosa Hot Springs, walk the San Juan River walking path or fly fish the river. Lots of games on site, with a horseshoe pit, croquet, bean bag toss, 3 station disc golf course, jenga, etc. The addition above the garage, 530+ sq. feet, adds a game room with a queen sleeper sofa, a full bathroom and a bedroom with a queen bed. In the game room is a 3 in 1 poker table that converts into bumper pool as well as a table to eat on. Also has a 55", 4K TV.

There is $750 refundable security damage deposit associated to the property. We also encourage VRBO optional damage coverage insurance.
There is a maximum 10 people limit, including children of all ages and we do not rent to anyone under 26 years old.

Disclosure, there are 3 cameras on the outside for property security. The outdoor fire pit is not available to guests. All outdoor wood or recreational burning fires and fireworks are prohibited per our HOA regulations.

Beautiful home with good amenities. Love the clean mountain air. Was a wonderful family time and everyone enjoyed it including the little ones. Everyone loved the train ride and hiking. Had never done a VRBO and found the experience quick, easy, and definitely worth it.

Great weather

Couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere this summer, the weather was awesome. Coming from 110 degree weather, it was a much needed change. The house had everything we needed. We did some hiking, disc golf, road the train and went on a mine tour.

Most Amazing Family Getaway

The house was nothing short of AMAZING and INVITING! Just driving up and one knew this was a slice of heaven. Everywhere you looked there was another wonderful use of the beauty of the area! The views are spectacular. The Liddell"s have added so many homey touches that you can't help but feel relaxed and at home. We have already recommended this home to many friends.

This visit was our second one to this property. It was as good as the first. We had our two sons and their families join us again. It was like coming to our home away from home. So many memories. We talked over dinner Friday night about how easy it makes it to have a quality property to come back to visit.

Family fun in Pagosa Springs

We had a great time staying at the cabin with our family. There were 9 of us and it worked perfectly for us. Games to keep us entertained. A great view and wildlife viewing didn't disappoint....we saw turkeys, chipmunks, deer, a whole herd of Elk, and coming back to the cabin 1 night at dusk a mountain lion ran in front of our car. The owners are so friendly and easy to communicate with.

Perfect Family Getaway!

The house and location are even more beautiful than the photos. We had six adults and four children ages 3-10. Everyone had their own space and there is plenty of room to gather as well. The kitchen is amazingly well stocked with everything you could want. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and early morning coffee on the deck. The house is very private but an easy drive to town and grocery stores. The owners are very responsive and really want you to enjoy their lovely home. Thanks Steve and Janice for sharing your place! One of our best VRBO vacations!

Perfect location, very private, great views

My family stayed here for 4 nights, we are a family of 3 couples and 4 kids. The house was great we loved the location and views . We enjoyed the property very much and the hot tub is amazing! We only wish all the couples could have had their own bedrooms in the main house together but the third bedroom has just the twin beds with trundles, however there is a very nice queen air mattresses that my sister and her husband slept on in the loft office . We would definitely consider staying here again . The garage apartment is very nice and perfect for our teen kids to stay in, although it is separate from the house. All in all we really enjoyed the cabin and our stay!

Absolutely beautiful!

To say that this property is wonderful is an understatement. It truly was a home away from home for our family as we came together and relaxed, ate tons of great food, watched a lot of Netflix and just truly enjoyed ourselves. It really struck us how generous the owners are, given how willing they are to not only share their vacation home, but to provide literally everything you'd need to really enjoy it while you're there. We had snow when we were there and it was a lot of fun for our kids to lounge in the hot tub while gazing out on the snow-covered landscape and then build snowballs and frolick. We were minutes from town but still felt very far away from it all. All of us agreed that we'd love to come back and make even more memories and we really hope to get the chance in the future. Hands down the best property we've ever rented!

Annual Elk Hunt

What a beautiful house! The location is perfect. It backs up to the National Forest, has views of the mountains and is only a few minutes to town. We used the house and the living quarters above the garage. The home was spotless. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for a large group. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of blankets. All of the appliances worked perfectly. The hot tub was used every night after a hard day of hunting. We had a herd of about 80 Elk feeding around the house one day. Amazing! One of the most important features of this property is the great communication the owners provided from the day we booked their home until the day we left. Thanks Steve and Janice for sharing your home with us. We look forward to next year. Blessings!

The location is nice but the home is very outdated. The problem with this place is that you will receive multiple calls and messages from the owners before, during, and after my stay. The owner will make you sign a separate lease agreement after you book through VRBO. They will then send you a secondary set of instructions on the day you check in with separate rules in addition to the agreement you sign. These rules include the fact that they have cameras with audio throughout the property. It felt like an invasion of privacy. The owner will add extra charges to your credit card after leaving the home. They claimed that the charges were for scratching their poker table when our group never used the room that it was in. The owner then stated that our group did not make the scratch but stated that the group caused their cleaning team 4 extra hours of cleaning because we did not start a load of towels. I then had to interact with them multiple times over the next few weeks because of the extra cleaning required and the charges associated with it. If you stay at this place, be prepared to have the owner be a part of your life for a month. Take pictures of everything when you leave.

Awesome family vacation home!

We had a wonderful experience with this vacation property. We were in contact with the owners from the day we booked and they were always accessible by text, phone or email throughout. The house is BEAUTIFUL and furnished in a way that is beautiful to look at and comfortable to enjoy with everything we could have asked for. We were able to cook in the well equipped kitchen, the beds were comfortable and towels and linens were all top notch. We used the house and garage apartment and our group was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the large table for eating and games with a fire in the fireplace, it was perfect! The snow was crazy this year and we had plenty of it and the children used the sleds that were in the garage to sled on the hills on the property. The maintenance people took care of the driveway so we could get in and out easily which we needed with the 2 feet of snow that fell while we were there. Our family wants to stay here again, everyone is afraid that none of the other houses will ever meet up to the standards set by this one. We had excellent internet service so we could stay in contact with our business and our At&T phones had great service, too. The drive to Wolf Creek for skiing was about 30 to 40 minutes because of all the snow but the conditions for skiing were great. Part of our group went on a snowmobiling trip that was nearby. We were close to town to go get anything we needed (about 10 minutes) but because of the location it was a very private retreat in the mountains. My only advice is if you are considering this home for your vacation act quickly because you don't want to let this one get away! The Luxury Log Home was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. It was perfect for our family gathering. My sister suggested we go out to dinner one night, and I said, "Why? Let's cook here and enjoy this wonderful home"! And, so we did! It was comfortable and had everything we needed. Steve and his wife are excellent hosts. They checked in with us to make sure the house would be a good fit for our family, and when we had a question, they answered promptly. When booking this home, keep in mind that it is several miles from a storeso get what you need before arrival. The backyard, forest beyond and views are breathtaking. The first morning there we saw a family of elk just beyond the backyard. Book this home...you'll be glad you did!

January 2025 Teepee Place

We had a fabulous time in this beautiful log home with lovely views of the mountains and forest. The hosts were very responsive to any questions. The location is nice and quiet, and the drive to good restaurants and shopping is only a few minutes away. The home had every amenity you could want, and lots of room for sleeping and socializing.

Great house nestled in the mountains

This house was perfect for us. We came for a ski vacation and originally had 10 guests, but only ended up taking eight people total. 10 Would have been no problem because the house will accommodate all 10 very comfortably. The house is beautiful and well-maintained. The hot tub is easily accessible and a must have for skiers.The house had everything that we needed to cook a few meals, there were plenty of towels, and the location was very easy to get to and close enough to town that everything was accessible, but far enough away that it was extremely peaceful.I appreciated that almost every light switch in the house was labeled because sometimes in log homes, it’s difficult to find the light switch you’re looking for. The TV service worked great while we were there although we didn’t watch a lot of TV. There were a lot of games and puzzles to choose from as well. We have rented several different houses over the last seven years in Pagosa Springs and this one definitely ranks at the very top.The owner is very hospitable and very easy to reach and communicate with. I will definitely be looking to rent this property again on our return trips.

While we live in Plano, Texas, we love Colorado and have looked for a 2nd home in Colorado for almost 10 years and we have finally found it. We love to hike, ski and watch the numerous animals to be found around our house. Come and see and you won't be disappointed.

Why they chose this property

We have friends that owned a home in Pagosa Springs for many years and we began visiting them in 2006. We fell in love with the area and its beauty. What was only a dream then, became a reality. When you step out on the balcony and look at all the scenery and it's glory, the stress just simply goes away.

What makes this property unique

How can you not fall in love with this home. A true log home with an unbelievable setting. The mountain views, the abundant wildlife to be seen on your drives to town, or just sitting on the deck. All of the outdoor activities are at you doorstep, hiking, skiing, the Hot Springs, horseback riding, fly fishing, biking, golf. Truly God's majesty! We are so happy to share it with you!
