A perfect retreat for just the two of you. It's leafy and private and in a waterfront position on Smiths Lake in the popular Pacific Palms area. With water views and the sand-fringed lake just steps away, you can relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area and stunning sunsets over the lake. Guests are welcome to use our kayaks. Paddle across to Sandbar Beach or take a short drive to one of the stunning local beaches in this area from Seal Rocks in the south to Elizabeth Beach in the north. The front deck allows views of the lake and reserve just opposite but is also a leafy and private area to relax and watch the world go by.

This is a spacious two storey home with five bedrooms. We have opened our home up to couples' only bookings at limited times. You will be occupying the ground level of our home with access to an upstairs bedroom with a queen size bed and a covered balcony where you can sit out, relax and enjoy the views over the lake. Please note the bathroom is downstairs, so, if you have mobility issues or prefer a downstairs bedroom instead just let us know. The ground floor of our home also has an open plan lounge/dining area, a full kitchen and a laundry. No one else will be in the house during your stay. The unused bedrooms will be locked. There is a small backyard and BBQ for your use as well with an undercover picnic table on the back deck. The front deck downstairs, just 50 metres from the water’s edge, also provides a leafy private space to sit and relax while watching the lakeside activities.
There are many beautiful local beaches stretching from Seal Rocks in the south to Seven Mile Beach in the north as well as some lovely National Parks which are all just a short drive away. The nearest surf beach is only 5 minutes away or you can paddle our kayaks across the lake to the sandbar. The Pacific Palms area also has some lovely cafes/restaurants and nearby activities such as golf and tennis. It is a great place for a couple to relax or explore the beauty of the area.
There is a leafy front balcony which has views over the lake and privacy. You will have access to a large queen bedroom of your choice (either upstairs overlooking the lake or downstairs if you wish to avoid the stairs to the upper level) and one downstairs bathroom. The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed, a sofa and TV/DVD player. The living and dining areas are at the front of the house. This is a large tiled open plan space with lots of windows and light-filled areas which provide privacy as well as gorgeous views across to the lake. There is a TV with DVD player in the lounge room as well as a collection of DVDs, books, board games for you and to enjoy if you wish.
For your comfort there is a reverse cycle air conditioner downstairs as well as a pedestal fan. For cooler days there is an electric blanket on the bed and fan heater.
The modern kitchen is clean and light with plenty of space to work if you like to cook up a storm. It is well-equipped with all the appliances you need . It has a cook top and an oven. There is a full size 370 litre refrigerator and, easily accessible in the laundry, is an 80 litre front opening freezer with three drawers. There is a front loader washing machine, iron and ironing board also located in the laundry along with a spare gas bottle for the BBQ. There is no dryer so please make use of the clothes line outside and the clothes airers provided if you need them. There is ample seating for 2 at the dining table and also a breakfast bar if you wish to use it.
There is a front verandah with bench seating and water views where you can relax and look across to the lake and reserve. The BBQ is in the back yard along with a wooden picnic table where you can relax and enjoy a meal together. The picnic table is under cover of an awning which provides shade for outdoor dining or protection from the rain.
Serendipity is an ideal location for couples to relax and spend time together. Only three hours drive from Sydney.
You will have full access to the house and privacy during your stay. There will be no one else staying on the property during your stay. There is a keyless entry front door which is simple to operate and allows 24 hour access for our guests. This means there are no problems with collecting keys or arriving late at night. Prior to check in we will send you an access code for the front door. We live nearby at Coomba Bay and are available to assist you. We are contactable by email or phone or through messages on the Home Away app.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Serendipity is right on Smiths Lake with a boat ramp and lake beach opposite and fabulous lakeside views. There is abundant local wildlife ranging from colourful lorikeets and kookaburras in the trees to flocks of black swans and pelicans on the lake. You are welcome to use our kayaks but there are catamarans and boats for hire just opposite at the Frothy Coffee Boatshed and Cafe. The local shops are just 1km up the road with a well-stocked Supa Mart, bakery, butcher, wine cellar, and cafe (The Good Food Store - eat in or take away). There is a seafood shop, petrol station and Foodworks grocery store just a short drive away at Charlotte Bay. There is also a Bowling Club at Smiths Lake and a Recreation Club just a few minutes drive away on the shores of Wallis Lake. Both clubs have courtesy buses. A nine hole golf course and Cellito Beach are only 5 minutes drive away. Access to Cellito Beach is a few minutes easy walk from the car park along a leafy palm-studded boardwalk, or you can paddle our kayaks across the lake. Elizabeth Beach has a surf patrol during peak holiday times. There are some stunningly beautiful beaches just a short drive away, from Seal Rocks in the south to Seven Mile Beach in the north. There are also many points of access to the beautiful Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes and to Booti Booti, Wallingat and Myall Lakes National Parks. Pacific Palms Recreation Club is on the shores of Wallis Lake on The Lakes Way near Elizabeth Beach. Monthly Markets are held on the last Sunday of each month adjacent to the Recreation Club and extra markets are sometimes held at other popular times such as Easter. In the Pacific Palms area there are more restaurants, cafes and shops near to Blueys Beach. If you wish to venture further away, the twin towns of Forster/Tuncurry are less than 30 minutes drive away and have many facilities for tourists.

We do not take bookings for Schoolies Week groups, bucks or hens celebrations.
This is an iconic location which has a relaxed, village feel to it in a beautiful leafy lakeside position. It is ideal for couples to relax and share quality time together.
Please, no loud music or parties allowed.
We work hard to present our home beautifully to our guests and ask that you leave it clean and tidy. Before checkout pLease return any furniture you move to its original position and ensure the washing up is done, all items put away and rubbish placed in bins outside. Please also clean the BBQ after each use and turn off the gas bottle.

KAYAKS - Conditions of Use
We want you to have fun with our kayaks but please take care of them so the next guests can enjoy them, too!
The kayaks are heavy and should be moved to and from the water’s edge with the kayak trolleys or by two people using the carrying handles at each end.
PLEASE DO NOT DRAG THEM OVER THE ROAD, GRAVEL OR ACROSS ROCKS!!
The kayaks are for use in Smiths Lake only. Please do not transport them to other locations.
For safety reasons children must be supervised at all times.
Please hose the kayaks off after use (when water restrictions allow) and store them securely overnight and when not in use, to reduce risk of theft.
We really appreciate you taking care of our kayaks and following these requests.
PLEASE NOTE: You are responsible for using our kayaks within the limits of your ability and for any personal injury or loss that you might incur as a result of using them. Please check the weather forecast before departure and be aware that the wind on Smiths Lake can increase and make conditions more difficult on your return legs. If you choose to use these kayaks, you agree that your Serendipity hosts, Yvonne and Craig, will not be held liable by you or any of your guests, if you suffer any personal injury or loss.
