About Phyllis Bobb
Phyllis here. I'm a native Brooklynite who spent my summers in the Catskills growing up. During the early naughts, hubby Luke and I spent weekends in Marbletown and fell in love with the small towns in that area. An ex-photographer and current real estate person, I'm a serial renovator. Luke is a civil engineer. As a handy and creative couple, we love to restore houses! This one dates back to the 1940's but any historic detail was already gone. When we fix up a property, we always try to use recycled materials and update what's there. Hence my business name: Reclaimed Home.
Phyllis Bobb purchased this house in 2019
Why Phyllis Bobb chose Kerhonkson
The cute blue house was a no brainer after months of searching. It's both quiet and convenient. We love having the choice to travel from 87 through New Paltz or on the Quickway through Middletown. Being so close to 209, we can head down to up and coming Ellenville or up to Kingston in no time. It's so close to Minnewaska as well. The house was in good shape when we bought it, so that we thought we wouldn't even paint. But alas, we had to put our own signature on it, so we're in the midst of a big renovation. In any case, the layout is great. Open living room/kitchen area. There's a bedroom and full bath on the first floor, and a den with a second TV. Upstairs has two more bedrooms with a shared bath. Six can sleep very comfortably, but there's a sleeper couch in the LR and another in the den for teens or snorers.
What makes this house unique
The quiet road is lovely during all seasons, but we do have neighbors. One of those neighbors is the horse farm up the road. We say hello to the horses when we walk the dogs down to the local seasonal farm stand to pick up our local organic produce. We've made every effort to keep the house entertaining and comfortable during rainy, snowy or cold days when you just want to hang.
