Two story home built in 2016. Five minute walk (~~350 steps) to the beach. You will feel welcomed in this inviting home. Open concept living, dining, kitchen. Three bedrooms, 2 baths, 3 decks. Master bedroom is on bottom floor, two other bedrooms and bath upstairs. Calming, but cheery decor is perfect for relaxing, or enjoying friends and family. Upper deck off 3rd bedroom is great for sunning or evening drinks.
Ground floor is open space with two picnic tables, outdoor shower and a small grill. Grassy area with parking for several cars.
Practically next door to the state park. Located just 8 miles west of 61st intersection with seawall.
This beach area is perfect for families because you can walk to beach and it is a no-cars beach. You don't have to be on lookout for cars driving up and down beach.

I'm glad your stay was good. I love walking down to the beach early in the morning. It gives me a good mindset for the rest of the day. The sound of the waves at the end of the day is great too. Especially while having a margarita on upper deck. It must have been especially nice after leaving Oklahoma in a snow storm.

Wonderful property just a short walk to the beach with all the essentials plus beach chairs, toys and a wagon to haul all your things. Kitchen has everything one could need. Rich was a superb host. He provided helpful information in advance and was quick to respond before arrival and while on property. Highly recommend! I’d definitely stay there again.

Perfect Beach Vacation Spot

The house is great and in a great location - easy walk to the beach with small children, quiet neighborhood, and a wonderful (uncrowded) section of the beach. The owner is excellent with communication and we would highly recommend to anyone, especially those who want to be an easy drive to the "action" of the seawall/pleasure pier/downtown areas while enjoying a quieter low-key beach experience.

Great beach stay

Beautiful Property and Excellent Host

My wife and I brought our kids for a short getaway Every aspect of our stay was excellent. The property was incredible, with a very short walk to the beach. Perfect stay!

We stayed with my 9 month old, 3 year old and mother in law. The house was a great location…the beach was just a few houses down the street and it was quiet and clean. The house itself was the perfect combo of vacation home cozy and hotel cleanse felt completely at home. We cooked at the house each day and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. If we make it back to Galveston, we’ll be looking up the blue pearl!

Beautiful Blue Pearl

The Blue Pearl was magical! This home created a beautiful meeting space for my family's summer day at the beach. The beds were comfortable , house was CLEAN, couch was cozy and host was UBER responsive. We WILL be back!

Excellent Stay

Excellent all the way around. Rich's communication was first rate and extremely accomodating. The house itself was in great condition and we really enjoyed it. Walk to the beach is very short and the beach itself was sparsely populated so we really had it to ourselves. I know there have been some comments on locking the front/back doors, but if you follow the instructions, it's quite easy to lock. One of the better VRBO's we've stayed at. Loved it!

Mark, thank you for your comments, I am glad you & family enjoyed the house. That is my goal as host. I love the big empty beach at my neighborhood too. Even during peak season it is uncrowded. Being a no-drive beach it is just for locals who walk down to it. The doors are designed for security. When the handle is pulled up it engages latches at the corners. It then locks easily. Incredible place

What an incredible place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the home was beautiful. Somethings that stand out were: 1) within 100yrds or so of the beach. The beach is far enough away from hustle and bustle of Galveston that the beach almost feels private. Despite being there during Memorial Day week, there were no crowds to contend with. 2) the house feels brand new throughout. There were ample toys for the kids to play with at the beach, a wagon to haul everything, and it was stocked with all the things we would need for a comfortable stay. 3) you are only 20 mins from all the touristy stuff. 4) the neighborhood felt safe 5) a shower downstairs to rinse off the sand which will still follow you everywhere for the rest of your life. LOL! 6) three balconies/decks for relaxing and very comfortable beds 7) games and streaming Netflix for entertainment 8) plenty of space. We had 4 adults and 3 children. We would definitely stay here again

Family vacation

The Blue Pearl was an awesome beach house for our family vacation. My wife picked this house out of several options and we were not disappointed. The house was fully stocked with almost anything you could think of having for your trip. Rich was an awesome host and made sure we had everything we needed. Beach is a short walk down the road. We rented a golf cart to make it easier to haul kids back and forth. I would highly recommend renting this house!

I am a semi-retired Realtor in Houston Heights. I previously owned an old beach house in nearby Jamaica beach years ago. It was on a canal, and I loved the solitude of the area. It was the only place I could truly relax. I say "relax" but being old, it was all I could do to keep up with repairs.
Still, I kicked myself ever since selling it.

Why they chose this property

I finally bought another house; a newer house, a bigger house. Blue Pearl is newer (2016 vs 1970), Hardiplank instead of wood, 2 baths instead of one, central heat and air. It is bright, open, lots of outdoor spaces with both sun and shade.
I picked this location because I don't have to get in car to go to beach. I don't have to cross the highway to get to it. And best of all, it is a no-cars beach, so my grandson can run around and I don't have to keep looking for cars.
The beach is nice too. It doesn't get packed in the summer like nearby Jamaica Beach, or the beaches along the seawall.

What makes this property unique

5 minute walk to beach (about 400 steps) , pulling all your stuff in a wagon.
Three decks, so you can pick sun or shade. Shaded, breezy area under house with two picnic tables. This has also served as a remote "office" or classroom for people who "work at home" away from home.
A quiet neighborhood with friendly welcoming neighbors.
About 6 miles or so to Moody Gardens, about the same distance to the seawall, where all the tourist stuff starts.
Very close to Nate's Restaurant, Waterman's, Way West Grill or Mario's Pizza if you don't want to drive toward town. Great food at all 4.
