My family loved the birdhouse, it was perfect for our family of four. The walk to the beach was around .2 miles. The walk to Center street was around four blocks. The steps on the outside of the house are not steep. It is true that the inside steps are steep, but we did not have any issues. The place was great.

Great location

The Birdhouse was in a great location. A three minute walk to the beach and five or six minute walk to restaurants to shops. A cute house that had everything we needed.

This house is a can’t miss. Only a few blocks from the beach as well as a few blocks from the local restaurants. You do need to be comfortable with stairs for both the entry and bedroom. We had a great stay. Comfortable, quiet, and just the right size for our stay.

Great little beach house!

We loved our stay at the Birdhouse, the size was perfect for our family of 3. The house is clean, AC worked well to keep the house cool, and had everything we needed. Just an easy 5 min walk to the 4th St access. My son loved the little bedroom. The stairs up to the bedroom are a bit steep and precarious so if you have mobility issues be careful! Would definitely stay here again!

We loved it here. The place is so cute! It was well-supplied with kitchen items, towels, linens, etc. Very short walk to beach and downtown area. The only issue for someone with bad knees would be the stairs, which are a little tricky.

Great spot!

The Birdhouse was just what we needed for a fun Birthday getaway. Close walk to the beach and to shops and restaurants, and a short drive into Charleston. We had such a great time! It was comfortable and clean, and the name totally fitting, as a Hawk greeted me one morning as I stepped out the door and we came face to face as he was sitting in a Palmetto just outside the door. Thanks so much!

Very clean, unique house

The house was cute and very clean. I really enjoyed Folly Beach and it was easy to get to and from Charleston. One thing, the stairs are pretty tricky and one should really be paying attention. One distraction and I came down part of them with a thud. Overall I do recommend though.

Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed here for a week on vacation and we loved it! The house was beautiful and was a very quick walk to the beach, and a fast walk into town. We enjoyed drinking coffee every morning on the patio, and spending the day biking around the island. The house was very clean, everything worked great, and we had no issues. Very quiet neighborhood too! We will definitely stay here again if it’s available when we come back again!

When can we come back?

We had an amazing time staying at The Birdhouse. A beautiful, unique accommodation with everything we needed for an effortless stay. J enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning. The house was cool, despite the 100 degree outside temps. Communication with owner was very prompt. The bed was very comfortable. Folly Beach was a charming beach town that we will visit again… and again.

The windows need a good cleaning, but that is the only negative thing I have to say. Well appointed. Perhaps you need to tell folks about the stairs to the bedroom - they are steep and somewhat dangerous.

Lovely Bird House

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bird House. It was very cozy with thick, fluffy towels, soft sheets and comfy beds. The kitchen was challenging for people who love to cook for themselves rather than eating in restaurants all the time. The stairs leading to the upstairs can be hard to navigate. The location in Folly is great but the no see ums are too friendly.

Nice Little Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at The Birdhouse. It was walking distance to any point on the island. The house itself was adorable, and we had everything we needed from towels to dishes to laundry detergent to room to work remotely. The stairs are definitely steep and need to be used carefully, but we had zero issues going up and down those stairs multiple times a day (including after a night of drinking on Center Street). The numerous windows provided ample light and warmth on the chillier mornings. Thanks for a great week in Folly!

Our stay was good however there was a lot of rain that week. The outdoor stairs were very slick and my daughter fell and was injured. I suggest you add traction strips to the stairs to avoid future falls.

Perfect location getaway

Overall, everything was great with this house. It was clean and had a great vibe. I never heard from anyone on the management side, but had no issues. I would suggest that a deep clean be done, the washer was moldy and mildewed so we could not wash our clothes as planned. That was a huge bummer....

Wife’s 30th

The inside steps to the bedroom are very steep and you constantly have to watch your head going up the stairs (duck stickers were helpful). First day couldn’t figure out why loft was so hot. Someone had the vent line for the ac unit in the room disconnected so it was blowing into the room. There was also an odor in the loft, could not figure out where that was coming from. Location is great. Close to town and the beach. We were able to park at the rental and walk everywhere. The town, the food, the people, the beach are all amazing. Spent hours walking the beach seeing a variety of wild life. Would not recommend for anyone with children. Lots of stairs and a gate that doesn’t latch at top of stairs.

Nice Spot in a Great Town

Nicely kept, well appointed hideaway easy walking distance from town, restaurants, and the beach. The space worked well for our group of two adults and 2 older teens. 2nd bedroom (accessed through the first) tended to get stuffy since the window in there did not open, and the stairs up to the 2nd floor were a little precarious even for our pretty athletic group. These were minor negatives in an overall great place. The kitchen had everything we needed to put together a pretty impressive little thanksgiving feast. The rustic/cozy vibe was great and we loved the extra touch of the turntable and cinyl records. All in all a great spot for a little getaway.

Great spring beach house

Perfect for a couples retreat! This house is four blocks away from the beach and within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. Park your car and do t move it for a week. The steps - inside and outside - are legit steep, and the bedroom above is truly in the trees - you’ll hear birds all morning long. A quiet residential street and outdoor porch are a bonus. I wouldn’t put anyone but young kids in the other bedroom - you have to walk through the main bedroom and the three twins are in attic space/low ceilings with not a ton of airflow aside from the mobile AC there. Main shower is on the main/bottom floor. Highly recommend.
