Nice appartment, great location, and more economical for events in Deadwood. Convienent 24 hour Gas Station next door, very friendly staff. Wish there was a scheduled shuttle since it's only 3 miles away.
Overall our experience was a good one. It would not have been as good if we had not had family there that were excellent tour guides. The surrounding area was beautiful and Deadwood offered alot of restaurants and shops.
Our stay at The Lofts was comfortable excluding the bathroom sink and toilet which were too low and outdated to be called ‘high end’ as stated in ad description. We are in our 70’s but small and in good shape and these items were a challenge to our backs. The apartment itself was comfortable and extremely clean and except for the bathroom facilities a delightful place to stay.

Gorgeous facility but management issues
The loft apartment is marvelous lodging. However, there was no AC unit in our apartment, no hair dryer and pilly sheets. This put a huge damper on what could have been a glorious experience. It was in the 90’s while we were there. The issues were not resolved by the time we left. Perhaps they are understaffed or poorly managed? Again, the facility is gorgeous!

Hi Charlene, Thanks for letting us know about your stay. After going over your feedback, the homeowner wanted to address the items that you mention:
-We work hard to create an incredible space for all of our guests and we apologize that our apartment fell short during your stay. Unfortunately, both I and our maintenance person were out of town simultaneously and couldn't respond in our normal fashion.
-We were unaware of both the A/C unit and hairdryer being missing upon your check-in. We were fortunate in quickly finding a replacement A/C unit but could not install it until the day of your departure.
We appreciate you choosing our apartment for your vacation and look forward to properly hosting you in the future.

Review of the Lofts stay
We selected the Lofts because it was close to relatives we were visiting in Lead. It was very clean and comfortable for our one week stay except for 4 items (one set of towels per person for a weeks stay and very few hangers). This was quickly taken care of the following day. The only other issues that we had a problem with was the low commode and sink in the bathroom. We are 72 and 75, small people in good physical condition but we found the low sink and the small outdated round toilet (like sitting on a donut) to be hard on our backs. This is not upscale by any means. The shower however was newer and had good water pressure. Overall it was a good stay and a good location for our needs.

The apt was comfortable and had everything we needed. The queen bed was a little soft for us.The apt has no ac which makes it a little uncomfortable but we made do with ceiling fans and portable fans. We had a week of thunderstorms so the temps were moderate. The location was great for all we wanted to do.Mt.Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial are closeby as well as Deadwood.
The apartment is very nice, easy to find and has great parking. Unfortunately the apartment was not cleaned before we arrived (an issue with the cleaning crew and not the host), so we slept on dirty sheets (we arrived late that evening so too late to be dealt with that day). The host got it cleaned ASAP the next day and everything was perfect.
After all costs, this room gave us nearly twice the space for the same price of reasonable king-bed rooms in town. Bed was comfy, kitchen well equipped (though we ate out). Easy access from parking lot up top behind building. Had a couple questions for owner (some towels were left out in bathroom by previous people--cleaners missed it), and he was instantly responsive.
Even in the heat of summer, the nights are cool and two good fans are provided. We simply put one facing in for the bedroom window and one facing out in the living room, and the place cooled down in minutes. The area was quiet, so no noise disrupted our sleep.
The tub is stained and could use some treatment, but it's no problem. Shower was fine. Fridge is good and cold.
Overall, just a very good stay.
