See our resident Kangaroos It has the feel of being isolated. But its only 30 mins from vineyards 20 mins from Lake Macquarie10 mins from M1.

The house is right in the bush, with kangaroos hopping around in the morning. We loved our stay, surrounded by nature and in such a charming house. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Thank you!!

A perfect bush getaway, yet close enough to great places which you can explore such as the Hunter wineries. This was the best find for us and we will definitely be coming back. The whole vibe of the house and its location was perfect. The owners were very quick to respond to any queries and extremely nice people. We were six adults and we all loved it!

We had such a nice time. Garry was very thoughtful with everything. He came by to check on us, share interesting things to do and daily built us a fire at night. The house had everything we needed. We were two moms with our sons who are friends and felt well taken care of. We will go back.

We had great time at Garry’s place! The wonderful house in the forest filled with amazing personal touches, board games and the fireplace made for an absolute pleasure of a stay! Kids loved a friendly dog who liked to visit us.

Easter Weekend Stay

It was wonderful to return again. We enjoyed our stay very much. This time we were able to put the Bomfire to use and roast marshmallows. The kids enjoy the bike trails and bushland ventures. It’s beautiful and quiet with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful stay.

Amazing Place

Family Getaway for Kids Birthday

Jan and Garry were the perfect hosts and their property is stunning. We stayed for 4 days for the kids birthday and had a great time. Hidden gem

Me and my friends absolutely love staying at this place. It is close to Lake Macquarie, the Watagan Mountains and the Hunter Valley. Jan and Garry are super helpful if needed and the place has everything you need for a cosy bush retreat getaway. If I'm looking to get away and relax for awhile I will always check if Jan and Garry's bush retreat is free before booking somewhere else. Thanks again for having us!

A week in the Bush

Garry and Jan were such welcoming hosts. Even before we arrived, communication was prompt and friendly. The cabin itself was delightful- fully kitted out for us to use as a real home for the week. Our hosts checked in on us regularly and even delivered fresh eggs from their hen's. Couldn't recommend highly enough 😀
