Very good value for the price. Can not complain. Would definitely come back to stay
Absolutely love staying at this bach. Stayed before and always stay for a week at a time. Sleepout is great as an overflow for the kids. Rich is awesome and always available.
We loved our stay here and enjoyed every minute of it.
The place the located in the right place with the lake down the road and it was very warm.
Rich was very accomodating and very responsive. Thank you so much for being the bestest host.
Would recommend to anyone else and we will be back.

Nice cottage in Okareka
Rich went out of his way to make sure our stay was smooth and to tell us about the area. The third bedroom sleep out is separate so it was not an option for our younger kids.

Pleasure having you with us Eve. Travel safe. Rich
Close to the lake, with a lovely outlook, specially when it's warm enough to sit out on the deck and enjoy the birds. Lots of heaters are provided, so while it was warm enough when using these in May, we found the sleepout and downstairs bedroom a bit musty, and it would be good to have warmer bedding for winter. Kitchen was well equipped, and very accessible nearby host. Size is smaller than it appears in photos.
Lake Okareka is a great location but our enjoyment here was limited by uncomfortably hard mattresses making it difficult to sleep, difficult access for boat and not much to do inside. Fortunately the weather was good enough for boating and mountain biking so we didn't spend much time at the bach itself. Even though there is room for 8 sleeping the living areas would be large enough to accommodate this number of people. Also had mice in the rubbish and downstairs on the first night.

Thanks for the review. I was not aware of the mice I could have come and set traps if I’d known.
Due to the location of the property, a village near a lake and forest, and the time of year, the mice are seeking somewhere warm to visit. We have an extensive pest control program at the lake, that attempts to curb pests.
The parking for boats is not a marketing point for the property, but there is room if needed. I thought you did well with the parking.
If there are any suggestions as to the description of the property to better describe it, I would happily change it.
Thanks again
The inside is nicely presented, has a few things missing though, teaspoons for one?? Has great working kitchen. Inside beds were average, I would have said lumpy mattress in the one downstairs where I slept. For me this was not so great as I sleep on my stomach, others might be ok with it. Would be a great place in the summer, as nice deck with wonderful birdlife, we had about 7 Tuis in the morning. The rain created some outside issues, where the rusty guttering overflowed in places and this did make some noise in the evening. But what a lovely area away from so much but close at the same time. Thank you for accommodating us.
Thank you for the lovely peaceful stay. We enjoyed lots of clear lake swims and watching the birds in the kowhai tree above the deck. And so great NOT having a tv!!
The property was modern but with cottage charm. Flexible sleeping options. Loved the big deck. Section size was awesome. Already booked for another week.
Really lovely property, close to the lake but also close to the redwoods and town. Very handy. Had everything we needed but would have been nice to have a TV for night time chill.
Would recommend.
Easy communication and arrangements. Location 5 min drive from Redwoods absolutely ideal for mountain biking etc. 2 min from boat ramp too. Great place - lots of fun. Nice house, looks like a little bit of renovation finishing to be done. If you have little children, check that stairs have a kiddie gate fitted.
