Highly recommended. This house provided plenty of room for an extended family getaway. And the record collection was impressive. It was fun listening to the music that was there.

Had very pleasant mountain experience. The house was in town close to a few restaurants and several other local stores as well as a post office. Lots of room to relax with family and to just be in quite though. Recommend it highly.
I was a little nervous to book this house as there weren’t any reviews but I took the chance and was so glad I did. The house is huge and offers so much. Our party of 7 was able to spread out and relax in all different rooms and reading nooks as well as gather around the fire together and eat at the large table. The bonus about this house for my children was the third floor. You would have thought we struck gold from their excitement when they discovered the staircase leading up. We would definitely stay again!
Charming house- beautiful location - serves the purpose
The house was very charming with lots of fun space for the children to run around in! The king sized bed was the only comfortable bed however. One bed was broken and the rest were not very comfortable according to the people who slept in them .location of porta crib was never indicated and we had to search to find it. The backyard was perfect with toys to play with. Front porch was lovely. Record player an added bonus. The games were appreciated . Coffee pot was broken - at least there was a backup!! We do recommend this house if you have many people

What a great house and town!
Everything and more of what they promised. Must be 2000+ albums to enjoy!
Big old rambling house where everyone had a space to be either together or alone. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The washer and dryer are new and were much appreciated! Thank you for a comfortable stay.

Fun place to stay
The house was very nice place to stay. It was clean and ready for sleeping a group of 10.
Could not get the air to stay on would alway go to heat at night. I thought the price was very high for the house. No hot water had to take Luke warm showers. Never had to use the cold tap. I would not recommend for seniors as the steps are steep and the rug on the stairs is detached from a couple of the steps.

Hi Lynne, thank you for your review. We wanted to pass along the following feedback from the homeowners: We are sorry about the issues during your stay. We don't have air conditioning in the house, so we are sorry for the confusion. The stairs in the house are no steeper than average, except for the stairs to the attic, which are steeper. The rug was repaired--thank you for bringing that to our attention. We were able to fix the issue with the toilet for you the same day, and it won't be an issue moving forward. The hot water is working fine, although the hot water in the water heater may eventually run out if everyone in a large party takes a shower one right after the other. We look forward to providing each of our guests with a five-star stay!
Old house, charming but with quirks and some moderate disappointment
The good things about this house are there are lots of rooms, the backyard is nice, and the kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and some condiments/spices/oils. The manager responded to emails in a timely manner. We really enjoyed our hang out time in the living and dining rooms too. The rough things are the three rooms in the attic are not air conditioned and it’s very hot and stuffy up there, the record player doesn’t actually work (but when I let the manager know, he said he ordered a new one), and though we’re paying almost $300 for cleaning, we had to clean the house before we left (or else we’d be charged additional fees). There was also a musty/old museum smell when we first arrived, but it aired out as we opened doors and got settled. I get the impression no one checked/spiffed up the place before we arrived.

Hi Kelly, We're glad that overall you enjoyed your stay, but we were sorry to hear that a few parts of the house fell short of your expectations. The homeowner wanted to address some of the items you mentioned:
- The cleaning fee is $225, which is standard for professional cleaning of a house this size
- It is also standard for vacation rentals to include a few small tasks, like removing their own trash and perishables, as part of checkout
- Travelers can see before they book that A/C is not advertised as an amenity, and the owner recommends keeping windows open at night to cool down
Thanks for your feedback, and we hope that we have the chance to travel with you again soon!
