About this property
Little Colonsay/Beach House
The kitchen has a brand new 900cm electric oven with a gas stove-top, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a BBQ. As well as the addition of a new bifold door and sliding door, opening from the lounge onto the deck. We have built a new sleep-out (similar to what we have up at Gunyah) located behind the house.
Inside the sleep-out we have included an extra LARGE shower (designed for divers to put on their wetsuits) and two new toilets with a double hand basin.
The house was originally built in 1952 ( but has been renovated since then in 2019) for Mr David Cormick, the engineer of the Perano Whaling Station, whom helped to design and build the large, metal, cylinder shaped tanks used for delivering the whale oil to Picton (which are still at the whaling station today).
The house is situated a stone’s throw away from the sea, and is in position to have the sun shine onto it throughout the day even through the winter time.
Very close to the beach so you can see the children play in the sand. Or what the fisherman at the end of our wharf catching you tonights dinner! Yes you can fish right from the end of our wharf.
Also you can view your boat easily on the mooring when staying at the beach house. Ideal for 2 families are a large crowd as there is the School Cottage nearby that another family could stay in!

Mike and I purchased the farm in 1993 and have made it not only our home. But have now a busy paua farm, Wiltshire Sheep and cattle. Our children are becoming old enough to start helping us on the farm and the jobs that need doing. We have raised them here through Correspondence. Mike and I are both divers and have a passion for the sea. We also go to Alaska each year to fish Sockeye Salmon that as a family we enjoy.
Why they chose this property
The beachhouse is ideal for children as it is fence in. You can see your boat on the mooring from the house and watch the fisher person in the family have a whale of a time catching your dinner!
Perfect place in every way. Easy for older folk as well.
