The house was very clean! We were within a 10-30 minute drive from all conveniences. The redwoods are just about 20 minutes away. Crater Lake was a 3 hour, day trip away. The house was perfect for our vacation!
The property had everything we needed. We enjoyed the spacious deck and cozy covered patio.

Great place!
My stay as well as my family and friends, found this house to be comfortable and clean. The view was very nice and beaches are very close. I will stay here again. Thank youCarman š
We loved staying here! The stairs leading to what im assuming is the main room were a bit steep, we had our three kids with us two of which could walk. And they had a hard time going up and down. I would bring baby gates if possible. But other than that it was an amazing stay!!
Overall our stay was okay. Some things to consider: the listing says it sleeps seven, which it does. However, there are not enough chairs at the table, or cutlery in the drawer for seven people. Not much privacy for the upstairs bedroom as it has no door. Still a budget friendly option for a family.
The property was perfect for what we needed. They had all utensils we needed for cooking and plenty of towels and blankets. Just a couple of notes, the other rental property on site was actually attached to the house so not much privacy, and the bedroom upstairs did not have a door. But over all it was a good stay.
This property would be fantastic for a family. There is one large bedroom upstairs with a bathroom. Two small bedrooms downstairs that share a bath. The yard in the back is kid and dog friendly, with lots of room to play.
We went as 3 couples, which was hard to divide the sleeping quarters evenly. We still enjoyed our selves. We love the coast.
The house was clean and in a convenient location.

Unclear and slightly misleading
Caretaker was nice but interupted our stay because she had not put away clean dishes from dishwasher or put the towels in bathrooms from dryer. It did not appear that bathrooms had been cleaned and rugs were visibly dirty. The sloping driveway can not accomodate 5 cars to park properly or get out safely. We were interupted by other guests who thought our place was theirs. It is unclear in post that the 2nd dwelling is part of our house and they walked rifht into our living room. Theirs was a seperate door around back in same house.

Don't be the first renters after a remodel has taken place!
The house underwent a remodel process after being vacant for about a year according to the renters in the small attached unit.
It was NOT clean and had some issues related to the recent construction work. When the owner was contacted, she did make an effort to fix most of the problems we brought to her attention. The entire "yard" area was just weeds and pieces of remodel debris. The setting is rural and quiet. The inside of the house did appear new and with working appliances as shown in the photos. The Evolve rental agency (Vrbo?) has some non-refundable fees collected in advance which are not obvious until you pay the entire months charges well in advance of the arrival date. Not a pleasant surprise.
I will finish by stating that there would have been more positive comments had the property owner made more of an effort to communicate and show concern for the renters satisfaction.

Hi Allen, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We're sorry if we didn't check in with you as often as you would have liked, but we stayed in touch throughout the stay and we also fixed the issues you brought to our attention
- We generally operate under the assumption that if our guests haven't reached out to us then everything is going well!
- Lastly, we'd like to note that you actually wanted to extend your stay (although you have to go through our booking company, Evolve, to do so)
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!
I am a frequent VRBO user. Itās typically how I make accommodations when traveling unless for work when I stay at hotels.
This home was clean and spacious, especially for an older home. I wish I would have better understood the studio situation. It left me feeling intruded upon when the guests walk by the house or through the yard to get to the driveway and then there were two different sets of guests during my same stay.
If that wasnāt enough, the studio is directly below the upstairs bedroom and the insulation is poor. I could hear conversations, the television and the bathroom fan turning on from below. With the older creaky floors, that character they would bring quickly turned to concern since I didnāt want to walk or make noise over the other tenantās heads.
I was also expecting suction handles for my elderly aunt in the bathroom as I thought I had read it had them, but there were none. No bath soap or shampoo either. We got by with what we brought.
My own fault but until I saw the address I thought this property had beach access based upon the pictures, but it is on the hill across a freeway. Upstairs has a view on a clear day, but not as I was imagining.
All in all could have been far worse, I just need to read better and ask more questions.

Martin, we are sorry if you felt caught off-guard by the layout of this rental. We try to be as transparent as possible with our listings through descriptions and photographs. We have passed your feedback to the owner and they would like to note that they have added a few more items to their starter kit upon guest' arrivals. We value your concerns and comments, and we welcome you to stay with us at Evolve again in the future!
Hearing the waves, watching the sunset, enjoying peace and quiet. Those are some of my favorite things about this house. The kitchen is well appointed and everything was spotless. The back deck was a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset with a glass of wine and the company of a friend or love. Just down the street is a super cute casino. Brookings and Crescent City are both an easy drive. I will absolutely be back!

The house was as advertised, fairly clean and well stocked. The listing said āother rental site in premiseā. They should clarify the other rental is actually a part of the house. Our balcony deck upstairs was the roof of the studio below us, and our covered deck on the lower level bordered their window. I felt as though we had no privacy and felt reluctant to venture out and have a good time lest we disturb the other renters. I will not be renting this property again.
