Beautiful Garden Cottage

The cottage is beautifully surrounded by gardens, with a certain old world feel about it. The cottage is filled with old antique furniture and old books as well as two fireplaces which we made good use of. There were a few things that were less than ideal; two chairs heavily covered in dust, a live cockroach under our pillow and one in the kitchen (with no bug spray for us to get rid of it) and a lack of storage space in the second bedroom (the one with two singles) to unpack our clothing during our stay. There was also no clear communication about needing to bring our own towels and bed linen, (only a small note somewhere in the T&Cs) so we had to go out and buy some. When we spoke to the Real Estate Agent managing it, they advised that we could not get single items that we needed, but had to pay per bed for a full set of linen/towels. For the price we paid, we did expect basic linen and towels. My Grandmother had difficulty enjoying her shower as the steam would very easily set off the smoke detector in the bedroom adjacent causing her to panic and exit the shower quickly. For those staying with elderly or anyone with walking impairments, I would not recommend as the path to the door was overgrown and very uneven. I did ask about it when making the booking but recieved no response. The positives were that they had ample crockery, utensils & cutlery. The space felt very home-y and comfortable with plently of different spaces to sit in. It had high ceilings with plenty of natural light coming through and a cosy fireplace to sit by. We would go back again, but we'll be sure to bring linen and bug spray.
