About this property
Hidden Cliff Private Suite in Bishop Arts Mid Century Resort
Beautifully appointed private room and bath in large 3600 sq ft Mid-Mod home with an incredible view of downtown Dallas. The extensive remodel completed in 2017, utilized recycled materials when possible, sourced from local Habitat for Humanity Re-Stores, Craigslist and similar. Guests have full access to the common areas of the home/garden. The gardens have been locally recognized for Texas Native and drought tolerant design and include many herbs the guests are welcome to harvest for their meals.
Nestled in a safe, centrally located neighborhood with the best that Dallas has to offer just a few minutes away, this home is located on a quiet residential street with the shops and restaurants of Bishop Arts District, Trinity Groves, Sylvan-Thirty, Victory Park, Downtown Dallas, Klyde Warren Park, and Uptown just minutes away. With quick access to several major highways, guests are 16 miles from Arlington - AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park.
Guests will have their own spacious 425 square foot private bedroom with walk in closet and full bathroom tub/shower complete with body jets. The bedroom is complete with a queen size bed, electric fireplace, which you can relax and enjoy, even without the heat, a flatscreen 55 inch TV with Amazon Firestick and Hulu. There is also a desk in the room for the working professional. The room will easily accommodate four as there is a very comfortable sofa that converts to a queen bed as well. (Additional guests -after the first 2- are charged extra). There is also a half bath in another area of the home that guests will have access to. An air mattress can also be provided upon request, and set up in the living room. Guests will have full access to the living, dining, kitchen, laundry, library, and outdoor areas with grill. Please feel free to step outside and enjoy the large deck with outstanding views of Dallas’ Santiago Calatrava designed bridges and spectacular views in the fall of Downtown Dallas.
You will have access to park in the circular driveway in front of the home. Guests are welcome to access the common areas of the home… the laundry room, dining room, kitchen, living area, library, deck/patio to cook, lounge, and relax . Complimentary coffee, tea and filtered water are provided. Espresso coffee is also available by request.
We do live on the property and understand you are here for a vacation. We will respect your privacy as we also expect you will respect ours. We are available 24 hours via phone/text, for emergencies, and happy to give recommendations for food and fun things to do locally. If we are hanging out on the deck, feel free to grab a drink and join us! We are very social and enjoy getting to know our guests. We also respect our guests privacy, so for those that prefer their own space and prefer to keep to the room, and to themselves that is completely fine as well.
Please be advised that we have one short haired domestic cat. She is very gentle, mild-mannered, and of course, adorable. She will likely give you a sniffing once-over when you arrive and then avoid you entirely the rest of your stay. DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE, she just wanted to make sure to say hello, and then get back to doing her cat things…such as taking another nap and chasing her imaginary friend though the house, but mostly it’s the nap thing.
Nestled among rolling hills, lush landscape and towering trees, near the Trinity River, this park setting provides guests with a taste of original Dallas which is the attraction for many visitors to Dallas. This neighborhood is also home to its own neighborhood golf course owned by the City of Dallas - Stevens Park Golf Course. The area also houses some of Dallas' oldest homes built as far back as the 1920's, so true lovers of architecture, can spend an afternoon driving around looking at the diversity of architecture whether it be old school like Tudor or Craftsman, or new like Modern and Contemporary.
There is a bus stop at the end of the street which takes you down into the Bishop Arts District where you can rent bikes, if that is your thing. There is also plenty of easy public transportation and of course there is Uber and Lyft.
