About this property

Historic Country Farmhouse for ANY Season!

NOTE: Mother's Day Weekend May 11th - My master gardener organization, will be having a plant sale on the farm, just that Sat morning. So there will be customers stopping in, at our back shed. If you are interested in booking that weekend and have questions about this event, please contact me. Thanks!

Welcome to a step back in time! This is our "Old Farm House meets Modern Farm House". We are inviting you to enjoy the farm that I grew up on. It is over 100 years old. We have incorporated A LOT of history in our renovation, from all the decor, to telling the story of the family farm and the way things used to be. Some say it's like a museum. For me, it's a tribute to all of the hard work of my family and we hope you will enjoy that aspect! The farm has changed over the years, but the one thing that hasn't changed, is it's country charm!

This would also be the PERFECT getaway for a ladies DIY crafting vacation! I am offering hands-on crafting during your stay. Ask me for more details. Additional fees are based on projects selected.

All rooms have been updated back to its historical beginnings, from it's hardwood floors, to some original decor, but we've added modern amenities. There are 5 bedrooms. Four have full-size beds upstairs; the lower level has a queen. There are plenty of bed linens and extra pillows.
We have 2 full baths. The bath upstairs has the original cast iron tub, with shower. The lower level bath, has a walk in shower. Plenty of towels provided. Hair dryers and toiletries are available if needed.

Everything that you need to cook with is in the kitchen! Our updated kitchen boasts a cast iron sink, butcher block counter tops, coffee bar area and real barn board decor. The island is a converted dresser, which holds some of my mom’s favorite cookbooks, if you’d like to try a new recipe! There are plenty of eating spaces - one off of the kitchen and a formal dining room.

We also have a patio area to enjoy, with a gas grill and recently added a boulder fire pit on our old barnyard to enjoy, weather permitting.

There is a living room with a TV and a fun game area, on the enclosed front porch. I have all of my games from when I was a kid, for your enjoyment. That’s from over 50 years ago! We also have a video library of VHS and DVD's if you'd like to enjoy a movie. There isn’t Dish network or cable, but there are over 20 local channels. We do have high speed internet, to keep you connected and a landline phone, if you’d like to make a call using a phone book!

If you see in our pictures, that we have a quilt on our barn. We are one of 150 quilts located across our county. We have a brochure with a map, if you'd like to take a tour, to see all of these beautiful quilts! Ours is called "Rainbow Blossom".

If you would like to learn about the history of our farm, please let us know. We would love to tell you how the farm operated years ago. I have had nothing but great memories while growing up here. It is our wish that you will leave our farm with great memories of your own!

Other things about the farm:
(this is during the growing season)
With over 3 acres of lawn and gardens, we might have to do some watering, lawn care while you are staying with us. Please know that we will be mindful of your privacy. We are currently working on the beds, so not all are totally manicured, but a lot to see none the less!

We do have a farm cat that comes and goes around the farm. Please do not try to catch him. We will feed him everyday if he's around.

Even though we are located on a country road, we do have some cars and farm machinery going by during the day, during the growing season. Typically by evening, things are pretty quiet. See the pictures for location from roadway.

Peaceful and lovely.
A beautiful, quiet, country home with all the comforts of home. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely gardens and the well-appointed home. It was nice for all five of us to have our own bedrooms and we had everything we needed to simply enjoy our visit! Highly recommend!

Beautiful and spacious home!
We were five writers meeting up for a few days of intensive writing. Susan is a great host, her home is wonderful, and we all made great advancements in our next books! We’ll definitely come back.

Beautiful, peaceful, quiet, very clean
Quiet, quaint, very well kept and clean. There is a sense of calm, peacefulness and “home” about the place that is very therapeutic. Tons of history and fascinating stories about farm life 70 years ago. Owner, Susan, is very pleasant, kind, generous and great with communication. She works very hard to keep everything nice and clean and comfortable. Thank you, Susan! The flower gardens are beautiful! My husband enjoyed the tour of the old dairy barn too!

Beautiful and thoughtful farm
We come every summer and have a great stay. The house is very thoughtfully laid out and prepared. The house is immaculately clean and prepared for guests. The farm and the setting is beautiful. The garden is fantastic. My kids have a fun time relaxing and playing in the yard. We have loved getting to know Susan and Tom. The farm is near Monroe which has great restaurants and shops and parks.

Loved the renovated 100+ year old farm house! Beautiful and peaceful setting. Susan has put her heart into the house she grew up in! We loved all the old photos of farm life, and the barn tour. We would definitely stay there again!

HI! Our names are Tom & Susan Konopacki. Both of us grew up on farms consisting of raising dairy cows, hogs, horses, ducks, chickens and rabbits. We've always been close to agriculture and had a whitewashing service for years, for dairy farms. We would love to share with you how farming use to be.

Why they chose this property

I (Susan), grew up here and we are both very excited to share our farm with you! I am very proud to have been raised here. My parents worked very hard on this farm and I want to honor them for it. We've been working hard to maintain the history of this farm and hope that you will enjoy it too!
