This comfortable three-bedroom home is meticulously cared for. Situated on a quiet flat corner block that abuts the Sandy Point Reserve and is opposite a farm, its location enjoys maximum privacy. The beach, at Ned Neale’s Lookout, is just a short stroll away. A leisurely ten-minute walk past a children’s playground gets you to the centre of this charming coastal town with cafe, general store, tennis courts, another playground and mini golf course. The wide and shallow sandy beaches of Sandy Point, and nearby Shallow Inlet, with uninterrupted views of Wilson’s Promontory are safe for children and popular for non-motorised water sports and fishing.
The elevated house is surrounded by balconies on three sides including an approximately 17 m2 entertainment deck. Large windows and a pitched natural pine ceiling give the European-style living-dining-kitchen area a feeling of openness and space. Each window opens views of native tree canopies and occasionally a visiting Koala. A hallway leads to three bedrooms, bathroom and utility/laundry room. The fan driven combustion heater placed opposite the hallway ensures that the entire house is well heated when sunshine is insufficient for creature comfort. Continuous water supply is assured and supplemented by a bore. There is also undercover space for a car.
Fully furnished, including European appliances, unlimited NBN Broadband Internet, kitchen equipment (there are various coffee machines - plunger, coffee pods, Bialetti stove tops) and brand new mattresses and bedding, this easily maintained cosy house is ready to enjoy. Its quiet location and immaculate presentation offer a rare opportunity to relax in a home, not a rental property as such. In the spirit of this, we ask you to enjoy it while remembering that it is our much cherished beach house.
Why should you choose this holiday house?
* If you care about aesthetics you will appreciate this property.
* If you take care of the environment you are in and appreciate nature, you should rent this house.
* If you need a soothing and quiet retreat you should rent this house.
* If you are visiting from overseas you will love this house - it is clean, comfortable and the owners care deeply that you have a wonderful stay. In addition, their family has been associated with the area since the 1930s - they know it and understand it. Need an itinerary planned? No problem. Not sure where to go for dinner? We will tell you. Keen on a day walk away from other tourists but with the WOW factor? We will share some of our secrets.
* If you have children you should rent this house. They will love playing in the reserve next door and cycling up and down the street.
Who shouldn’t choose this house?
* This home is not appropriate for pets - we are sorry. It has no fencing whatsoever and opens on to a road. Moreover, it is adjacent to a reserve, frequented by koalas who are protected and vulnerable to dog attacks. We respectfully ask you not to bring dogs inside.
* In our experience this house is too small for two families to share comfortably. The living/dining room and kitchen are combined and relatively small. There is no second overflow living space to retreat to.
What are the owners like?
We love bushwalking, reading, cycling, art and swimming. When we are at the house you’ll find us doing long walks on the beach, swimming, day walks at The Prom or cycling to Walkerville. Our children surf and participate in Nippers. We love exploring and feel that there are never enough days to enjoy this slice of paradise.
