About this property

mbrace nature in this bright home that has gorgeous views to the lake and forest

Our home has been decorated in a modern Coastal/boho style and furnished to be a perfect getaway. We have high-quality beds, natural linens, bamboo pillows and comfortable couch and chairs in the living room.

Our Master Bedroom has a Fluffy mattress, which feels like sleeping in the clouds.
Our second bedroom has a Sealy high-quality mattress if you are looking for an in-between.

Our Third Bedroom has a Gravity mattress for people who prefer firm mattresses.
(Please know most of our bed frames are lower to the ground, with the exception of one.)
Enjoy the heated tile floors in the living room and our heated towel rack in the bathroom.

You have access to the whole property, with the exception of the Basement shop area which is locked and has the garden supplies in there. And the hallways right-hand closet that also has a lock.

Things to know before booking:
-The house is built in the side of a mountain and to get to the front door you have to go up a few set of steps.
-Two of the bed frames and and the couch are low to the ground. Two of the bedrooms are in the second floor of the house.
-During Fall and Winter months there are wind storms quite often, and in Sudden Valley this might mean you will lose electricity for a time. This is usually resolved quickly, but please keep this in mind. Sudden valley is peaceful, surrounded by nature, but it also lacks of some of the big city comforts. A perfect getaway if you want peace and quiet and beautiful views.
-During winter time you will have to salt the steps of the house as they might get icy, and will need to shovel the snow if this happens during your stay. We will provide the equipment.
-The house has a wood stove which is amazing and warms the home, but you will need to get your own wood if the one provided runs out.
-This is a pet friendly home. Our cleaner does her best to remove all fur from all surfaces. We lint roll the couch, ottoman, and vacuum everywhere. Linens are washed after every guest, and our mattress are protected with mattress covers.
-This is our family vacation home, please expect there will be some of our items in the house. This is not a hotel.
-Longer stays are welcomed, and will be offered a larger discount. If you want to rent our home for longer than a month, reach to me for a special price!
-We offer military discount.
-If you are an author looking for a bookish getaway, reach out to me!

Thank you!

Cheers

Pros and suggestions
This home was bright, airy and very clean. The couch was comfortable. The home is in a neighborhood surrounded by trees and a bit of a lake view. It's very quiet. There were lots of towels, and the bed linens were very comfortable. They weren't kidding when they said the bed is low to the ground. Our bed in the first floor bedroom was almost like having the mattress on the floor. We used the woodstove to keep the house at a comfortable temperature. As stated, there are a lot of stairs to get to the front door. The host was easy to reach and replied quickly to our messages. We appreciated that we weren't expected to do a hard cleaning prior to departure. Some suggestions /things to know: There aren't any instructions for the house, like how to turn on the living room heated floors, how to use their woodstove, or how the TV works. There are several coffee makers and something that I think was a milk frother but not sure since there weren't any instructions. I think it would be helpful to have a list of these instructions as well as some practical information like the nearest hospital, the local market, etc. The kitchen has a good assortment of pots and pans but has no aluminum foil, plastic wrap or salt and pepper.

Hilltop Haven
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this BnB. The feeling you get when walking in for the first time is worth repeating. You know you have stepped into a peaceful place that just as easily hosts family game night in style. I loved the mattress and slept like a log. Camila, the host, was friendly and quick to respond with any question I had. Really went above and beyond. Wifi worked great! Thank you Camila!

Really nice place though livability of house lacked a bit
We had a wonderful long weekend in Bellingham and really enjoyed staying in this house. We found that on the surface, this house fit all our needs but when it came down to livability, it lacked in a few amenities, such as a functional coffee maker (there was a piece missing that made the coffee not taste so great), a comfortable couch and papasan chairs, and a tv that worked (or at least instructions on how to use it).

Perfect weekend with friends
This house was everything we needed it to be. I’m on the road frequently and stay at a lot of rental properties, and most of the time the decor is cheap and bland. Not the case here! The interior is very comfortable. Beautiful location with amazing views. About 15 mins from town. There are a few quirks such as doors not closing all the way and not having a place to hang clothes in the closets, but those were easy to deal with. Overall, would recommend.

About the host

We're a fun-loving family of four. We love many things from movies, art, good food and coffee. When we aren't working in movies we are chilling in our home, working in our vintage camper, caring for plants, or getting to know our city.

Why they chose this property

This property is bright even during the colder darker months. With gorgeous views of tops of trees, mountains, and the beautiful lake.
Close to the city but far from the noise and quick hustle. The perfect getaway to unwind and discover nature, watch wildlife and dip your toes into the lake's sand.
Sleep in comfortable high-quality beds, buy some organic local beer in Sudden Valley's local shop.
Visit the local Spa for some unwinding.

What makes this property unique

This home was decorated and furnished with comfort in mind. We picked good quality furnishings to enjoy ourselves when we vacation in here, and that we are hoping our guests would enjoy as well.
