We couldn't have been happier with the Manyat cottage we stayed in. The room was clean and warm, with fantastic views. The free range eggs, freshly baked bread and other complimentary extras were a lovely touch.

Close to good walks and a lovely place to come back to. Maleeyas Thai restaurant next door does delicious food. Watching weather pass over the porongorups and the big sky at night is so calming and meditative. We felt very welcome when we saw the delicious bread and eggs our host had supplied

A long driveway leads to the charming Boobook 2 bedroom, cleand, well-equipped cottage with hedging out the front and side to create privacy while sitting outside on the verandah. A view towards the rocky Porongorup range and expansive property with kangaroos, blue wrens, other birdlife and livestock make this place so inviting and peaceful. Great communication and a lovely welcome from Gary the property owner (who also provided the first morning's breakfast) was a bonus. This place is worth a 2nd stay for us if we visit the region again, thanks Gary and Maria :)
Gary and Maria’s beautiful little 2 bedroom cottage was the perfect place to escape the world and just enjoy nature. Stunning scenery and silence only broken by birdsong, this little hideaway in the heart of the Porongorups was just what we needed. A delicious breakfast was provided- homemade bread and jams, fresh eggs and ground coffee, which set us up nicely for a day of hiking. Then in the evening we returned to watch the kangaroos and put our feet up in front of the fire with a good book. Wonderful place!

We recently stayed at Manyat Peak Cottages and the whole experience was amazing. The cottages were impeccably clean, fresh produce provided for our first day there which was a very nice surprise and located in beautiful surroundings close to hiking trails and just 40km from Albany.
Gary greeted us on arrival and was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had a great time and hope to be back one day soon! Cannot fault the property, service or hosts.
Highly recommended!

If we could give Manyat Cottages more than a 5 Star rating we would. Gary & Maria have 2 Beautiful cottages set in an idyllic setting with Manyat Peak overlooking the well kept and maintained property. Gary introduced himself on arrival and let us know he was available should we need anything and did so without encroaching on our privacy. The cottage was spotless and delicious fresh produce was supplied for our first breakfast. Manyat cottages is close to Mount Barker and just 40kms from Albany. A walkers/climbers paradise with the Porongarups and Stirling Ranges close by. We can’t recommend enough and will definitely be back

About the host
Hosted by Gary and Maria Edwards
Hi my name is Gary, my wife Maria and I fell in love with this property when we saw it in November 2019, we purchased it in 2020, our two cottages sit in the middle of our 125 acre farm, approximately 70 meters apart. They are set back from the road over 500 meters giving guests space and privacy. we have a small herd of Dexter cattle, keep and breed our own chickens and try to live from the land as much as possible in an organic way, although not certified.
Why they chose this property
The two cottages are set back from the road, and 180 meters from our property giving space and privacy. You are free to wander parts of the property (please keep gates shut, livestock roaming), beware some fences maybe electrified, gates are not. There are 3 dams on the property and must not be entered, children to be supervised at all times. If you want to meet our cows, we are happy to locate them for you. On your wanderings you are sure to bump into a roo or two. There are spectacular views of the Porongurup ranges from within your cottage (including Gibraltar rock and Manyat peak (the last peak)), from different vantage points on the property there are amazing views of the sterling ranges, only a 40 min drive away. We back onto the Porongurup national park which is a hikers paradise.
What makes this property unique
There are many hikes and walks in the area, and a must to do is the Granite Skywalk a short drive along from Manyat peak cottages and the Porongurup national park. The area is abound with boutique and award winning wineries, the local produce is fresh and wholesome and can be sampled at many restaurants and wineries in the area. The Sterling Range national park is home to the highest peak (bluff Knoll) in Western Australia and only a 40 min drive .
