York Street Apartment Three

Superbly located in the heart of Launceston's cbd, is this home away from home apartment. If you're a family or a couple looking for a getaway or in the Launceston area on business, it's the perfect alternative to staying in a hotel. The apartment offers two very spacious bedrooms. One with a king bed & the second with two single beds. There's a large lounge area with double sofas & a large smart TV, which is Netflix enabled for your enjoyment. There's a walk in shower in the bathroom. The kitchenette is equipped with basic cooking facilities, which includes a one burner cook top, a two drawer dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee pod machine, a microwave oven, a full size fridge/freezer, toaster & kettle, along with crockery & cutlery. But we seriously don't think you'll need to cook/eat at home too much, as the apartment is within metres of the famous Morty's Food Court, where you'll be spoiled for choice of every style of cuisine. The large dining table can also double as a work space, for those needing somewhere to conduct business. There's also a combination washer/dryerfor your convenience as well.

The heart of Launceston city is only a few short minutes stroll away. Where you'll find an abundance of retail shops, cafe's, restaurants, pubs & Village Cinema. Venture a little further & you have the world renowned Cataract Gorge & Cliff Grounds, along with Boags Brewery & Utas Stadium (home of the AFL Tassie Hawks Hawthron football club). Or jump in the car & within a 30 minute radius, of the apartment, will see you in wine & cheese countryor quaint colonial villages such as Evandale, Longford or Perth.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The fire escape and open door in the kitchen are the only ventilation in this apartment and they were a blessing. Fresh air came into the space every day (no windows opened). There is an air conditioner, but for those of us who prefer fresh air, the back kitchen door is great. This place is big, peaceful, quiet, next to a good sushi restaurant and Woolworths, right in the heart of town and has a washing machine/drier, hairdrier and dishwasher - microwave and electric frying pan - so home comforts too. No tableclothes or mats, which was odd - but the dining table and chairs means you can host a dinner party here. The sitting room was luxurious and the DVD selection was fantastic.

This is a wonderful property with two large bedrooms, separate lounge and well set up kitchen. The heat pump and heaters in each room were more than enough for the cold nights of 0-2 degrees outside. The unit was clean and we loved the quirky, old fashioned dressers in the bedrooms and kitchen!! The only other thing I should mention, which others had also noted in their reviews, was the noise of the rubbish collectors each morning! They didnt try ..... and maybe couldnt, reduce the sound.... and it was really loud! It was around the 6am mark, so it wasnt so bad, but just letting people know so that you dont get such a shock at being jolted out of your sleep... with no forewarning!In saying that, I would still stay here again. Perfectly situated. Just a two minute walk to mall. Clean and well looked after. One private car spot just to the side of entrance door, but street parking for other cars if required.All in all, we were really happy with this accommodation.

We found the key pad at the front door a bit fiddly, and despite the air con in the hallway, the apartment was very hot at night for sleeping. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved how central the apartment was. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left. We were able to walk to Cataract Gorge, the museum, to take a cruise and to eat out. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. I thought the apartment was nicer than the photos show. I liked the features of an older building such as high ceilings, ceiling roses ... The kitchen was only suitable for simple cooking but fine to cook up breakfast or a one pot lunch. We ate out at night since we were surrounded by restaurants. We appreciated the pod coffee and washing machine/dryer (including detergent). It was quite cold when we stayed but the rooms have plug in electric heaters which kept the living room and bedroom nice and warm and it had a reverse cycle air conditioner in the passage. It was still cold in the kitchen in the evening but we only used it briefly at that time so it was not a problem. I purchased some nice warm slippers and that made it much more comfortable. Overall we felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This little place has a lot of charm - until the evening when the traffic noise, sirens, speeding cars all come together in a very loud symphony and let’s not forget the garbage truck at 4.45am! I think the managing agents should think about that noise rather than sending messages to incoming stays at 8.31pm reminding you to be aware of others in the building and be mindful of noise. We did nothing wrong and we’re out most of the evening so you can imagine my surprise and annoyance at receiving this message. Really not great customer service.And the cleaner needs to have a closer look when cleaning the shower - it’s full of mould on the door track!
