Rural retreat and family friendly

Albens is a peaceful rural retreat set on a farm close to Orange. You have exclusive use of the comfortable, new, fully self contained cottage. on a rural property just 10 minutes drive from Orange. A winery is within walking distance. It is an ideal place to base yourself to explore the picturesque Orange area. You may also choose to just unwind, read, have conversations with friends and family, paint or sketch, watch the nesting birds or enjoy the expansive rural views from the comfortable and well appointed cottage. Whether you are visiting for Wine and food weekend, the field days, visiting the vibrant town of Orange , exploring the district or just a relaxing stay in the country, Albens cottage is a ideal for you.

From the cottage are wonderful expansive views and over 25 species of birds have been seen on the farm, many nesting in the stand of Albens eucalypts adjacent to the house. Sunsets and the night sky are spectacular.

The comfortable 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 4 people . The kitchen is fully equipped and a large dining table is in the open plan living area. A slow combustion fire can be lit to warm the cottage and provides a wonderful ambiance. There is a wood pile near the door for your use. The terrace provides a great place to sit and admire the views for sunset drinks, sampling your newly purchased local wines.

There is much wildlife near the cottage. You are most likely to see kangaroos grazing and might be lucky enough to see the echidna wondering by. You will see many parrots and other birds.
There is a welcome basket with breakfast items including cereal, fruit, tea, coffee and milk.
The cottage is fully equipped and all linen and towels are provided. You can prepare your own meals, go out to one of the fabulous cafes and restaurants in Orange or bring in your takeaway.

We have just redone our driveway so it is now all weather and is suitable for all vehicles. It provides easy access to the cottage, with a sheltered entrance to the cottage.

We welcome you to stay at Albens cottage, on our lovely rural grazing props located just 10 minutes from Orange.

Great little getaway

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Alben's Cottage. It's a remote spot set in its own plot of land with beautiful views. Big kitchen and living area with views. Note that the driveway will be a bit slippy in heavy rain, but we made it in our trusty tiny hatchback :) hope to be back soon!

Paradise in the country

The cottage is in a beautiful location and is completely clean and well appointed with all you need for a stay and more. You can plan to take a book but will be distracted by the lovely view all the time. The changing colours at sunset are a special highlight. As are the night sky stars. Only a short drive to town and local highlights like Mount and Lake Canabolas.

Easter in Orange

We had the best long weekend in this house. The views are amazing, watching the sunset and sunrise. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Our kids loves seeing the cows and other animals around the property too. Great garden for an Easter Egg hunt. Would come back again for a weekend. We have lived in Orange for over 20 years and can help you plan your stay in this beautiful district. We love farming this undulating and partially wooded property but currently have our home in town , so you can experience the beauty of the farm yourself.

Why they chose this property

This property is towards the end of a quiet country lane. You will see lovely views to Mt Canobolas and you will drive past a couple of vineyards. It provides a quiet place to unwind and relax. Although there is no wi-fi provided, reception is strong. The cottage is close to town but gives you complete peacefulness and a restful, natural environment, ideal for relaxing and recharging yourselves.

What makes this property unique

Sunsets are spectacular. The old growth Albens eucalypts behind the cottage provide homes to many birds. Rural retreat close to town.
