About this property

Little Red Cabin ~5 min to Mt. Rainier entrance!

Nestled in Mt. Rainier's foothills, our cozy Little Red Cabin is just 5 miles from the only year-round park entrance. Explore the Pacific Northwest's beauty by day and unwind in your charming cabin next to a cozy fire by night. Enjoy this peaceful getaway and listen to the soft sounds of Big Creek in your backyard while keeping an eye out for the amazing local wildlife this area has to offer. Your peaceful escape awaits!
We do our very best to provide our guests with a wide range of amenities to help make their stay as convenient and comfy as possible:)

The cabin is equipped with a medium sized fridge, freezer, small oven/stove top, pots, pans, glassware, utensils, paper towels, silverware, sharp knives, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, wall heaters, fresh towels, fresh sheets, extra blankets, soap, shampoo, coffee, tea, toilet paper, stand up shower, hair dryer, iron, flat screen TV with Netflix, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher.

Enjoy the soothing sounds of the creek from the deck outside as you sit at the cozy table provided and enjoy a quiet romantic evening or fireside chat with friends and loves ones. We are also happy to provide a propane BBQ and a fire pit for your summer evening star filled nights:) Please refrain from utilizing the pathway we are building that leads down to the creek, we will be adding creek access to our listing once that pathway is safe to access. Until then, we truly hope you enjoy the sounds of the creek and the peekaboo view!!

The town of Ashford has two very small stores and one gas station that carry just the basics. We recommend you purchase any food/supplies you would like to have during your stay prior to heading up this way.

**Cell phone is limited in the area. Verizon seems to work best**

There is also a couple of restaurants you may want to try...Copper Creek Inn is famous for its BlackBerry pie. You gotta try it! Elbe tavern has juicy burgers and great fries. Elbe junction has the BEST locally made ice cream and pies. Base camp grill has good food as well (pizza, salad, burgers). Scale burger has good milkshakes (cash only) and burgers/fries. Pizza in Elbe is also good.

* RISE AND GRIND *
Located in the Ashford city limits by the Ashford Grocery store, would be a great choice for your morning coffee:) Great prices and yummy too, great friendly owner.

* In the event that there is a power outage due to weather in the mountains, we do not issue refunds.

**All vehicles are required to carry tire chains when traveling inside Mt. Rainier park during the winter season (November 1 - May 1). This requirement applies to all vehicles (including four-wheel-drive), regardless of tire type or weather conditions.

You are on vacation and it is very important to us that you enjoy yourself! Please let us know if there is anything you need, we will accommodate you to the absolute best of our ability:) If you are looking for suggestions on the local area we are more than willing to be there for you! We also understand that every guest has a different preference on how much interaction they have with the host. We try to be aware of each person's individual wants and needs and completely respect your privacy.
This adorable Little Red Cabin nestled in the foothills of Mt. Rainier is also adjacent to Big Creek and it is located inside the small community of Paradise Estates. The cabin faces beautiful Osborn Mountain with a couple of vacation rentals on both sides. The area is very peaceful and surrounded by natural beauty. A variety of birds, trees, deer, and elk are often seen here.

The small community lake is a short walk away and our guests are very welcome to go for a swim:) Please adhere to all community rules (located in the house manual) so that all of our guests may continue to enjoy this fun amenity! What a great way to cool off after a day of hiking!

If you are looking for a hike outside of the park...Big Creek campground is on Skate Creek Rd and it has a trail head that leads up into Osborn mountain (challenging hike-dogs allowed).

****FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HEADED TO THE MOUNTAIN FOR THE DAY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AN EARLY START, OR YOU MAY FACE HEAVY DELAYS.*** Most have the same game plan as you:)
You'll also have an easier time finding a parking spot at viewpoints, trailheads, and visitor centers. Parking lots tend to fill up at Paradise by 11:00 AM. The busiest time at the entrance stations is typically from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Entire cabin is available. Easy access from Osborn road. We hope you enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature as much as we do.
After a long day of exploring all that the gorgeous mountain has to offer, follow the spiral staircase to the loft above where a comfy Ikea queen bed (which is a bit smaller than a regular queen bed but larger than a full size bed) awaits you for a restful nights sleep!!

Plenty of enjoyment for a romantic getaway, a small family, or some good friends that don't mind sleeping on the pull out queen sized sleeper sofa located in the living room;-)

PETS: I'm so sorry, we love our lil pups and we tried for quite a while to allow pets in the cabin, but we have have had to change our Pet Policy due to the amount of extra work it was causing our (amazing) cleaner, too much pet hair was being left behind by our previous guests and it was just causing so much work for her to get everything absolutely spic and span and ready for our next guests. You are welcome to contact me to request an exception (we absolutely understand how great it is to bring fur babies along and were sad to not be able to continue to allow them)
Ashford lacks public transportation, you will definitely need your own car, bike or skates, hover board, broom, or camel:-) The park entrance is 5 miles from your cabin. There are plenty of trail heads within the area as well! Nisqually River is close by for enjoying those river walks too.
The community has a small lake where you may see a family of ducks and geese and it's a great place for a quick swim to cool off in the summer
Cell phone is limited in the area, Verizon seems to works the best.
***If you plan on going to the mountain, we suggest leaving in the morning, or else you could face long delays getting in.****

Long weekend getaway
The location was great for activities in the park and also just to relax and getaway from it all. The house itself had everything i needed... making full use of the wood burning stove. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely spot near Mt Rainier
This cozy cabin was perfect for a night near Mt Rainier. The patio, fire pit area, and pebble beach by the creek were so inviting for relaxation that I wish I had booked it for two nights. The only negative was that there was no coffee at all. I used to always bring my own whenever I rented a place, but over the years have been pleasantly surprised that there is always something to make coffee when I stay at this kind of place. So of course the one time I didn't bring anything... Thankfully there is a coffee shop a 15 min drive away! Otherwise everything was perfect - clean, comfortable, everything you need to make a simple meal.
