About this property

built in 1946 by the Quaker Oats Family as their hunting retreat, Rockfirehouse has been magnificently renovated in 2018 to retain it's yesteryear charm but embrace modern needs and comforts , two large stone fireplaces, beautiful pine floors' manicured yard encompassing over 400 feet of Private lakefront. A 4 season pine Canadiana log lake house with private and modern amenities, 2 hrs from downtown Toronto, the property has lots of trees. The home has a 15x15 screened in muskoka room overlooking the lake with 12 foot vaulted ceiling and ceiling fans and a indoor propane fire pit , the home is equipped with full size (2x burner) propane , outdoor fire pit area, 72 inch Tv , wifi , two stone fireplaces , A/c ,
Tv area and a separate Great Room with panoramic lake views
a 2 minute boat ride to the Famous “Jump off Rock “
20 minutes drive to Bobcaygeon and 10 minutes to Buckhorn On
the home has a water softener system , back up electric generator and a UV water purification system.
MAXIMUM 6 PEOPLE PER STAY ONE KING BED, ONE QUEEN BED AND ONE 2X TWINS (ADDITIONAL 2 X TWIN BEDS ROOM UPON REQUEST )

PS: Firewood NOT included , I can arrange wood delivery approx. $7.00 for 28 pounds of wood ( aprox 8 pieces )
* IMPORTANT : the cottage doesn’t have any garbage removal services , guest are encouraged to separate garbage type ie : wet garbage and recycled items (separate bins provided) and This must taken with you at checkout. I will provide you with a "prepaid" Dump access card so as you can drop off your garbage and recycling ( 10 minute drive)

the cottage is equipt with a emergency back up Generator in case of any unforeseen power outages

I rent the Log home to 6 people as a general rule , you may request the three main level bedrooms one king with ensuite and two queen bed rooms , or one king room with ensuite, one queen room and the second level two twin bed room with ensuite

Beautiful property - great host

This a rustic, yet modern beautiful home. Situated on a quiet, private wooded lot with great views of the lake. Would stay again without hesitation. I have rented many Vrbo properties and Mike was one of the most attentive hosts I have dealt with. Thanks for a great week!

Mix of modern convenience with the charm of a an old log cabin

Great panoramic view of the lake, the property is so private and tastefully landscaped, we have truly enjoyed our stayed. The cottage itself is decorated with plenty of antiques that blends beautifully with the old character of the log cabin. The two wood burning fireplaces were such big hit with the family we had them running all day.

Rustic retreat on large private property

Mike was a great host, quick to respond to questions and very accommodating to our needs with an elderly guest. The cottage is large; we didn’t even use the great room!
