Updates completed for the 2026 rental season: Updated furnishings, Updated pool furniture, new flooring, and more to come! Entire back yard now has a privacy fence, is sodded and has irrigation.

Start off your days watching the sun rise over the ocean from your extra-roomy family room, decks or screened in porch! Breakfast can be enjoyed at one of the two kitchen/island bar areas, dining room, Al Fresca or on one of the many outdoor deck and patio areas.

Rinse off after a day at the beach in the enclosed outside shower, then take a dip in the large Private pool. Plenty of patio area to lounge and dine around the pool deck. Watch the sun set on the spacious front decking, then finish off your evening with a dip in the hot tub.

Upper Level:
Access to back sundeck and screened porch.
Extra large kitchen with tons of counter space and amenities. Plenty of serving and everyday dishes. An extra long kitchen bar area and kitchen island with fold out leaves are perfect to sit and grab a snack or enlist some help with food prep.
Coffee station is located on the back counter to free up the cooking and prep areas.
Extra empty cabinet and drawer spaces provides a place to tuck away groceries and extras during your visit.
The open dining area has seating for 10.
There is also a convenient half bath

One Week Getaway

Enjoyed the house and all the amenities. The pool and hot tub were big wins for us. The location is great for access to so many things in the area (Nags Head Pier, Jockey's Ridge, all the restaurants)--all within walking distance.

For having to book this stay due to the mandatory evacuation for Hatteras last minute this property is super cute, in a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible. The management team at Carolina Shores were nothing but AMAZING. Between them and the owners who were able to work with us we could never be thankful enough. if we are to stay in the Nags Head area in the future, we defiantly will be cooking this house and through Carolina Shores.

Great vacation in Nags Head

Great place in Nags Head. This property was very nice and convenient to all we did. Close to the beach, restaurants, shops, Jockey's Ridge, fishing, golfing. We did it all. Great vacation.

Perfect family getaway

Ocean Pursuit was a great house for our family of 8. Plenty of space, great beach access and the game room/ pool was perfect for the kids. Highly recommend!

Very clean and well kept home. Well stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable vacation. Beach is only a short walk away. An added bonus was the ocean views. We were not expecting that. Pool area is awesome. Volley ball net, basketball hoop and several very nice floats. I want to thank the owners for providing a very nice and comfortable home.

Great place to stay!

Not being on the main drag was awesome...the road noise was minimal, great streets to walk with kids. House had everything we needed. Pool was a hut with everyone especially the kids! Will definitely book again in the future!

Overall great week and the house was exactly what we were looking for with the location, proximity to the beach, having a number of restaurants, dessert shops within walking distance, many other activities within a short drive, and a pool. The house accomodated 4 adults and 5 kids ages 9-14 easily. Only a few minor issues: the bunk beds, which were a selling point for us, were just old and loud, making creaky noises when the kids were laying in them to the point where they were afraid to stay in them overnight. Luckily there was an additional room for them to move to. Also would have been nice to have some starter tp and handsoap in the bathrooms. The beach wagon was key and great to have. Highly recommend this house if staying in Nags Head!

Amazing stay at Ocean Pursuit

We had such a great time!! This house was perfect and the pool was used non-stop by all members of our fam. Added surprise was two master suites, then a shared bath for two other rooms on the middle floor. The bunks were downstairs with their own bathroom. We had the perfect space for everyone! We also appreciated having a bbq and outdoor shower, plus a beach wheel barrow to haul our items 4-minutes down the road to the sand. Only suggestion would be more pans because it was hard to make dinners with only one large pan... unless there were more hiding. We will absolutely be back!!

The house is great for big families but consistently needs the same updates- the fridge doesn't close, the dishwasher doesn't always lock- both are old and need to be updated. This year the house was dirty- the bathrooms were not cleaned that well and the kitchen had food on the floors. The carpets should be replaced. Also we weren't given linens for all of the beds and had to go purchase additional linens. Also the stove takes a long time to heat up and could be replaced, along with the dishware (pots and pans are in poor condition).

Dear Claire, We strongly disagree with your review. Ocean Pursuit is, by far, a remarkable OBX vacation home. It is well maintained and amply stocked. The kitchen appliances are between 3-6 years means most were nearly new when at your first visit. The property was inspected by our maintenance department after your review was posted. The only item that came up was that the door on the dishwasher needed a new seal (you did not call it in). It was corrected right away. Additionally, the owners drove down immediately and went through all of the items that were mentioned. They tested every appliance and inspected the entire home. The stove pre-heated in less than 7 minutes and every function worked properly. They found no issue with the refrigerator door or other features. The carpet is in very good condition and is regularly cleaned. None of us are even sure what you could have been referring to regarding the carpet. The home has an ample supply of very functional cookware ranging from a nonstick set that was added about 2 years ago to at least 10 Pyrex style glassware pans of different crab pots and crab tools to a crock pot, griddle and a considerable amount of bakeware, it has has it all. Had you contacted us regarding any housekeeping, maintenance or linen issues, we would have addressed it immediately.

Pictures don't do it justice

This house is beautiful. The online pictures don't do it justice, the living space is HUGE! We had 12 people in our group and this house had room for everyone. There were only two complaints: 1. The pool didn't seem to be clean when we arrived. We then realized the pump wasn't running, I called to have someone look at it, but no one showed. We cleaned the filter and the pumps began working again. I am sure the pool maintenance process is done by an outside company... The management company was super nice when I called. And 2. The check-in process... We arrived to Nags Head early, we did some sight seeing until check-in time. We drove 20 minutes to the designated location to pickup keys, only to be giving the code for a keyless entry. That info could have been given to me via email and saved me a lot of time and running around.

As always the amenities and location in proximity to all beach experiences are ideal. The only concern was having to drained a total of twenty miles extra to get a code for access. This code could have been sent to me via text or email as it always was but the former owners.

Carolina Shores does require all tenants to check in at one of our offices to provide them with adequate information and direction. We also want to insure the leaseholder is the one checking in. Other companies who do not do this have experienced major damages and such at their homes.

Ocean Pursuit is a fantastic place to stay. Our group was large, but the house accommodated us extremely well. Much larger than the pictures. It has everything you might need/want, and it is very close to everything.

Roomy, lots of outdoor seating on decks, roomy family room on top floor, plenty of kitchen space. we recommend replacing the couches in the 3d floor family room, they are past their prime.An umbrella or some sort of sun shade in the pool area would be helpful. We had a great time! Jockey's Ridge nearby for kite flying! Jennette's Pier small aquarium was a nice morning activity for the kids. Surfin' Spoon and The Spot for great ice cream. Fresh fish from Austin's.

Great house and location

The houae is in a great location for any activity that you want to do in OBX and short walk to the fishing pier and beach. My family really enjoyed the house and the downstairs game room was great for my kids.

The pool area is roomy and my daughter swam multiple times daily. The public beach access is a short walk away and the neighborhood is very nice. I would rent this house again if it was just my family of 4 plus Grandma.
