✨3 Bdrm Guest Suite in 1920s Bungalow, North Shore
Welcome to the Queen Street Guest Suite!
A private guest suite in a 1920’s bungalow in Northcote Point. The guest suite consists of:
⭐️ 3 bedrooms (2 queen and 2 single beds) ⭐️ 1 bathroom with a bath and shower ⭐️ a kitchen/dining area (no dishwasher) ⭐️ a small sunroom with a TV and double sofa bed.
You’ll be close to the cinema, cafes, a historic tavern, a wine bar and bush walks. While only being a ten minute drive from the city with public transport options a short walk away. The house is a 1920’s bungalow (celebrating its 101st birthday this year). It is mostly original, it is not a modern house - the doors squeak and the floors creak!
The guest suite comfortably sleeps 6 people but can accommodate up to 8 with the sofa bed, if you don’t mind sharing one bathroom. There is also a cot available for an infant.
The guest suite is attached to our home but the door that accesses the rest of the house is locked on both sides for your privacy and security. You will have separate and exclusive access through the front door.
There is off street parking available for 2 cars as well as free on street parking. There are buses that run from the top of the road (10 minute walk) and a ferry running from the bottom of the road (also a 10 minute walk).
For laundry, there is a washing machine and a small clothes dryer in the kitchen.
Dogs are welcome by arrangement with their own bedding but please be aware that the garden is not fully fenced.
Check in is available from 3pm onwards and check out by 10.30am.
If you need the sofa bed or the cot, please let me know when booking and I will set it up for your arrival.

A nice clean place with lots of natural light. Great location with motorway on and offramp in both directions about three minutes away Cafe short walk up the road which is great
Really comfortable. The place is old and quirky for sure but we loved that. Lovely touches around the place. Great location, get the ferry from the end of the road into the city, an easy walk to the ferry pontoon. Friendly host.
The house is old, as described, but comfortable. Heaters available and roomier than it at first seems. Host is friendly and helpful without being instrusive. It was very clean cleanvlecleanrequirappliances
What an amazing place, such a privilege to stay in this beautiful home. Would definitely recommend.
Host went out of his way to make this and outstanding experience,
Fantastic location. Loved the thoughtfulness of the hosts - left little chocolates on each of the pillows, who friendly products used throughout the house and great set of books to enjoy reading whilst you view out to the harbour. Great communication, property was clean and had that charm of an older style home. Thanks for having us!

Thanks for your kind review, it’s very much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed your stay, thanks for being great guests. Safe travels!
The 4 of us totally enjoyed our stay. With local coffee an takeway shops handy, also the local hotel, all within walking distance. Our Host let us know he was only a phone call away if we needed anything. Thankyou Laurie
Laurie is a great host. We felt welcomed and settled in quickly. The place has everything and were very pleased with the whole stay.
Close to the big smoke and all the bustle to get in the mix... but just far away enough too, bonus.
Ka Pai hoki koe!
The location and Laurie the host are excellent. The house is quaint and memorable and probably what you can expect from a house from the 1920’s. We stayed during peak winter so it was quite cold but also part of the experience for us, coming from a tropical climate!
older villa with all that brings.Lauire was super to chat with and very helpful. It would be a bit small for 8 people but great for the 2 nights 6 of us were there .A real gem to find close to everything with a realistic price .Thank you we will stay again
Upon reading some of the reviews, I am in full agreement that it was a special privilege to stay in such a wonderful house. My bed was stunning in the act that I had to climb up onto it. The location was so good because it was nice an quiet but a good distance to drive to the CBD and beyond to the likes of Onehunga where our seminar was. There were three of us but four would be a good number for comfort. Laurie was so obliging in letting us use his washing machine and his advice on local traffic conditions was very useful. Just the area alone with the cafes and brasseries, was a boon too. Will definitely use this lovely house again.
My family and friends really enjoyed staying at this property just over the Harbour Bridge from Auckland. The property had some quirks but these were well described in the listing (older home, creaks, etc). The location was simply excellent. Easy to get to the city, but no need to go further than walking distance for good coffee / brunch.
Really appreciated being able to bring our dog on holiday with us as well.
