Come and have a mini vacation in Sautee Start Line, a mountain cabin with views only few minutes from Helen GA.
The cabin sleeps 6 in real beds, two bedrooms with King and Queen beds, loft has another Queen size bed, sleeps additional 4 in queen size sofabed and futon. The view from upstairs is a great one to wake up to. Two small bathrooms with showers. Fully equipped cabin has hot tub, gas grill, fire pit, Wii-console, Playstation 3 with racing seat and steering wheel, HDTV, surround system, and more.
The renovations were just finished and you can take advantage of kicking back in practically new surroundings. Kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes and appliances. If you don't like to cook every meal, there is a nice cafe and couple of home style- and breakfast serving restaurants within a mile from the cabin. Hot tub under the stars without the city lights makes an excellent place to watch night sky! Cabin has wireless 80+ mb verified speed internet for fun and work. Linens, towels and starter amounts of toiletries are included. The cabin has Netflix for those days you have exhausted yourself with area outdoor activities.

Cabin outside Helen

We had a great stay at this cabin in Clarksville, outside of Helen. The owners were quick to reply and fix the hot tub when it wasn’t warming. The house met our needs for a family gathering in the woods with beautiful views of the stars at night.

Great location, very secluded

It was a little tricky to find, definitely rely on the email instructions over your GPS. The secluded location in the woods was very peaceful and it's only a short drive to Helen and all it has to offer.

Great restful location

Enjoyed the property and the amenities that came with it. Hot tube was clean and relaxing and fire pit had wood and everything. Grilled and all necessities was pretty much available along with extra towels. Definitely recommend it!!!!

Enjoyable small bain

The cabin was clean and well stocked. The main living and kitchen areas were nice and had enough room. The bathrooms were tiny, but well stocked. It was definitely an older property but generally was well maintained with only a few slught issues.

Place is as described. The hot tub had a funky smell, like old water with no chemicals for cleaning :( the place was decent pretty run down for price . Futon wouldn’t stay flat made for uncomfortable sleeping arrangement for my son. Dryer was too squeaky to use sounded as if the thing was gonna fly away . Instructions were easy . Very beautiful wooded surroundings. I would have loved a tv in the bedroom for evening times .

I am not one to leave reviews, but I have to with this vacation spot. It was by far the best that I have rented in the last 10 years that my family has been coming to Helen. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, clean, and had everything needed. My husband loved the grill!! Got to check it out! It is close enough to Helen and all the entertainment but far enough away to get the peaceful serene time with your fanily when you have had enough of the busy life in town. The check in was super easy and communication with the owner was amazing! My whole family comes to Helen every year at the same time, each family rent different spots so I will definitely be trying to get this spot for next year!! Highly recommend!!!

We could not get the tv or the fireplace to work. It was hard to get in the house. Too hilly and rocky The toilet was in an awkward place. I had to sleep on the couch because it was so horribly hot upstairs in the loft that no one could sleep upstairs

Great stay

We had an overall amazing time. The only complaints we have is the ps3 didn’t work, which was okay for the adults. Kids were disappointed however, the owner offered to come fix it. The view of the mountain from the loft is non-existent. And if you’re a bigger person, don’t expect to get a good nights sleep. My husband and my friends husband are both bigger men and the beds are not big men friendly. There’s a board between the mattress and box spring which made my it impossible for my husband to get comfy. However, none of our issues were deal breakers! There was plenty of room for everyone! We will be back! The owner was quick to respond with any and every question we had!

Awful never agajn

Dirty,extremely hot, set at 74 when got there and it was 78 according to thermostat. Took two days to cool it down so getting ready for a weekend wedding was awful. Dishes were dirty kitchen floor dirty and the hot tub didn't work until we put more water in it. Not as pictured and even the remote batteries didn't work had to replace them and even then the "satelity"tv didn't work most if the time.

Spring Break with Grands

Really liked the house layout and location. (downstairs toilet is in a tight spot if anyone big is in your party) Unfortunately, the dishes, glasses and flatware were caked with dried on food which we didn't discover until our first real day there which was Easter Sunday. I tried to rewash the dishes in the dishwasher, but it was broken. I'm guessing the cleaning crew just put up dirty dishes, but you could feel the dried on food, inside and outside of the dishes. I didn't bother to contact the owners because I couldn't wait for a cleaning crew to come in; I had to feed my family plus it was Easter Sunday. The microwave had food stuck to the sides and top and even had dried pieces laying in the bottom! Guess they didn't bother to open it... I ended up sending the owner an email the following day out of concern of being held responsible for the broken dishwasher and a hand mixer that didn't work either. I let them know about the state of the microwave and how there was debris and hair all over the bathroom rugs and I also said there was no need to send in cleaners as we had already cleaned everything. Janet, the owners wife, contacted us and came out to check the dishwasher. She apologized for the broken things and the lack of cleanliness and I know she tried to replace the dishwasher. She also called when she had no luck getting a replacement in time and offered disposable dishes. She was very kind and we appreciated that. It really was a bummer to travel all that way and then have to spend a day cleaning just to be able to eat. I know it is not their fault ~ I'd fire the cleaning crew ~ but we also have not received any discount to date. We did love the place, but it really needed a cleaning and it sucked to have to spend that time cleaning. Otherwise, we did enjoy our stay.

Overall terrific stay!

We loved the size and the location. It was like a 20 minute drive to everywhere we wanted to go. The only minor inconveniences were with the driveway/parking situation and cleaning. The driveway is not very wide, and if we had taken one of our sedans instead of a truck, I don’t know that we would have made it up. there is a flat spot to park so parking is fine once you get up, but only for one vehicle. The house was clean, with the exception of a few sticky spots on the table and the hot tub. We did not use the hot tub as we had planned multiple outings anyway, and the table was fine after a quick wipe down. The beds were comfortable, we had all we needed as far as dishes and such, and we enjoyed ourselves!

The home was so welcoming. As soon as we walked in we were relaxed. Each night we fell asleep to cicadas and woke up refreshed! The beds were extremely comfortable and we fell asleep almost immediately. We will be back!

Disappointed

The reason for my title being "disappointed", is because we spected so much more form the images of this place. On the other hand i have to appreciate and be grateful for the promptiness of our host once we call him to solve a cleaningness issue, he showed up within the our woth brand new linen for all the beds; Even though this issue was not supposed to happen to begin with. There where many issues with the property, mostly an extreme lack of maintenance, higene, and overall carelessness. I had to fix the BBQ in order to use it, because even though it looks very cool on the outside, the interior is rusted away. The hot tub was dirty, even after we ran it for a while and removed debris from the water. We had to use some wd40 we had on our car to lubricate the hinges on the doors, became the creaking noise would wake up anyone still sleeping. The biggest issue we had to top it all, was the fact that the last 2 we all basically bundled up in one bedroom to sleep. This was due to a disturbing amount of scorpions in the property. My kids where fricking out and they didn't want to sleep on their beds once they woke up to scopions in their beds. After i got them relax we played some video games in the gaming room upstairs, guess what another scorpion crawling from under one of the pillows in witch my son was sitting in. I used some bug spray to keep the critters away, and that gave allergies to my daughter.I'm submitting some pictures to show we are not making this up.
