From the owner: "We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Please visit again soon!"
Kitchen was large and well stocked! Clean and loved the originality of the home. We loved the front porch and views were spectacular! Property manager Melissa was amazing! The only downside is that the beds were not comfortable at all. If the beds would be upgraded it would be the perfect stay. The dock was amazing and would love to stay again...if the beds were more comfortable.
Great location to downtown Solomons Island Center.

Excellent location. Our dog loved it. Main sitting area in the house has very little day light. Both bathrooms are on the first floor but 3 bedrooms are upstairs.

Ok property.
No real problems with the stay. Pictures need to be updated. Descriptions of rooms need to be more accurate. Would recommend to bring your own pillows.

From the owner: "Hi Erin, we’re so glad you could join us and hope your visit was enjoyable. The photos of our rooms were taken about a year ago, and while we do update some furnishings from time to time, our goal is always to preserve the charm and character of this well-kept waterfront home, much as it was when it was built in 1900. Pillows can be a matter of personal preference, and although hundreds of guests have stayed with us, you’re the first to mention them, so we’ve taken that as a quiet compliment. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon."
Hi Natalie, the owner asked us to pass along the following: "I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I love it too! Please come visit again; I think you will enjoy some of the improvements we are making such as a fire pit at the tip of the peninsula and updated furnishings." Thanks for traveling with us!

We enjoyed our stay but the 95-100 degree weather made it hard to fully enjoy the area. The house was located near many of them. We fished snd crabbed from the dock and did use the kyacks once early in the day.House air conditioning was much appreciated.Melissa was responsive and helpful. Wi/fi was fineHouse worked for us but could definitely use a lot of improvements. We loved the player piano!

From the Owner: "I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to make use of the dock, crabbing, and kayaks, even with the hot weather! I’m happy to hear the air conditioning kept you comfortable and that the Wi-Fi worked well for you. It’s great that you enjoyed the player piano, too. It’s one of our favorite features. Thank you for your feedback."
Brought in the new yer with my family here. The Home has a rustic charm, location is great and by the water, tons of yard space and the game room is an awesome amenity. Would love to stay again next time during the Spring/Summer.
Great location and amenities. Could use some updating.

Dock and waterfront were pretty. Great we could have our dogs there. House was dated, but clean and everything worked.
We love this place. The property is amazing. The house was great. All the kids had so much fun swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and floating. Check in was simple. The owners and PM were super helpful. My only advice is to bring shade and lawn chairs.
Quitesential bay vacation. The house is old and loaded with character. As a person that has been visiting the Pax river area since the early 70's, this brought back many childhood memories.
We had a great stay during Thanksgiving, enjoying the private waterfront yard, and close proximity to food and activities. We stayed with our pup who loved the yard and being able to explore the dock and kayak in the river. The kitchen worked great for cooking our Thanksgiving meal, and the rustic charm interior made the home feel cozy and warm for the holiday. We can’t wait to return in the future!
The house was nice and the property is spacious. Great views from the dining room table. A little steep heading down to the dock but not terrible. Very private setting, but also only 5 mins away from pretty much anything you could need. Some nice restaurants just across the bridge in Solomons Island. Would love to return in warmer weather to take advantage of the kayaks and water.
We stayed for a motorcross race (son was racing). We didnt do much at the house. Its nestled back in a quiet point on the water. Easy commute to and from to the grocery/simple shopping stores. Starbucks right down the street for you coffee lovers. The interior decor is simple and antique.
This house was perfectly located four visit purpose and intent. The large hose was located on a creek off teh Patuxent RIver, had great views of the water with kayaks to enjoy, bikes to ride and a sailboat for cruising. It was a rare find in the rental world.

We enjoyed the location of the property, and the beds and spaces were clean. Using the kayaks was a plus as was the availability of the bikes (good condition and pumped tires ready to go). The house did have a musty smell to it throughout our stay, the carpets felt damp, and the owner should note that there is duct tape keeping the microwave handle on, as well as tape holding the rear screen door handle. There are also spiders/cobwebs between the windows and screens. Also- renters should note that if you are sleeping in the master bedroom downstairs, and there are people also sleeping above you- you will hear all movement. It worked out for our family since we spent all of our time at another house and didn't have to use the kitchen to cook, or the living room to hang out in.

We’re glad you enjoyed the location, the clean spaces, and took advantage of the kayaks and bikes. We also appreciate your feedback. After checking in with the homeowner, they wanted to share the following:– Our cleaner consistently does a great job preparing the home for guests. We recently shampooed the rugs and plan to remove the upstairs window A/C units by mid-October, as they can sometimes let in moisture. Additionally, we replaced the filter on the central dehumidifier, which immediately cleared up the damp smell. We’re also replacing the carpet with luxury vinyl plank flooring before the end of the year. Guests haven’t mentioned the cobwebs between windows and screens before, and while this isn’t something that would be handled during a normal turnover, it has been noted for future deep cleaning efforts.– We’ve asked our manager to replace both the microwave and the rear screen door, so the temporary duct tape fixes will be addressed right away.– Noise from the upstairs level hasn’t been a concern in the past, but we understand this can vary depending on who’s staying. The homeowner takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for guests. We’ll continue working together to provide a positive experience for all future visitors.
Had two nights in this wonderful cabin-like rustic river inlet home. Two homes in the neighborhood don’t was quiet and quaint but about 25-30 minutes away from St Marys College of Maryland so not as convenient as we would have liked but best option available. Disabled mother stayed on first floor which was spacious and great. Upstairs room and Air Conditioning were acceptable. Dining room and Kitchen were great. Dog loved the back yard. Kids loved the ping pong table and foosball table. Overall, Great house that has aged well and has character. I highly recommend. No real issues at all and checkin was great.
We visited the area for a nearby wedding and really enjoyed the house! It was very clean and close to grocery stores, etc which made stocking up easy. Comfy beds, plenty of room, and lots of charm! At the suggestion of another visitor we spent a morning at Sotterly Plantation and would highly recommend it if you're a history buff - a fascinating look at the area's rich history. If we were able to stay longer I would have researched the sailboat rental. I look forward to the possibility of visiting this beautiful area again in the future when we can spend more time!
The house is beautifully set atop a hill forming its own peninsula. The grounds are well maintained and the gazebo outback is great for viewing the river. While the house is historic, it is charming, and some updates have been made. Kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed to prepare a meal . There is no door for privacy between two sleeping areas up stairs, and both bathrooms are downstairs. Two bedrooms are completely private with great views. We had a terrific weekend. It was perfect for our needs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at this cozy house, a little piece of history on the Patuxent River with serene water views. The connected rooms, bed configurations (and foosball table!) upstairs were a good set up for family with children; grandparents were able to have more privacy on the main floor. The house is old but we like that. It is clearly well-loved, and has much more character than most newer, sleeker properties. For one, I have certainly never stayed in a rental house with a real player piano. (We did have to make an effort to keep the kids from playing with that fragile antique!) We loved our visit and hope to have occasion to return.
