About this property
The Granary Flat at the Historic Glenora Mill
The Granary flat is located inside of a historic stone mill on the shoreline of Bay of Quinte, Lake Ontario. With exposed beams and stone walls, this unique space has a lot of character and a rustic feel.
Watch the Glenora Ferry pass by throughout the day, take a walk up to Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park where you can enjoy the breathtaking water views or pop over to the resort to grab a pint and a delicious meal at the two waterfront restaurants and brewery.
The Glenora Mill was built in 1806 as a five-storey stone grist mill, located on the shore of Adolphus Reach on the Bay of Quinte. It is the second mill that was built on the property, replacing the original 1792 mill. Its history connects with many properties along the shoreline, as well as Lake on the Mountain. We have included a printed book of the first 228 years of its history in the flat for you to learn more about how this property came to be.
The Granary Flat inside the mill is our first pilot as a short-term rental. The goal is to continue to renovate this space and open more guest flats over time. This building requires special attention to restore and the owners plan to continuously upgrade this flat and the entirety of the building to share its full potential with our guests.
When you enter the flat, you'll be welcomed by the water view, beautiful stone walls and wood stove in the living room. This space also doubles as a sleeping area with a futon that can be folded down into a bed. Just off the living room is the dining room with seating for four, a workspace with a desk, and a cozy reading area. The kitchen includes a stove/oven, full size fridge, microwave and cookware to prepare your favourite meal. Just off the kitchen is the bedroom, which includes a queen bed and views of the lake. There is one full bathroom with a stand-up shower, no tub. The outdoor area just outside of this flat on the way to the entrance is available to guests to lounge by the firepit, dine, cook and enjoy the views privately.
Please also note that a complimentary Seasonal Sandbanks Beach Pass is included with every stay to give you free access to the Sandbanks beaches.
The flat is self-check-in so you can come and go as you please within the check-in and check-out time frames using the door code provided to you. We will not intrude on your getaway, however, should you find yourself in need of something, please do not hesitate to contact us. This flat is on the main floor of the mill. Other flats are being renovated for additional guests and some units are reserved for the owner's family use and a long term tenant so you may see other people around but they won't interfere with your specific guest areas. The waterfront is a shared space.
Please note there is an outdoor camera facing the driveway to monitor snowfall, snow removal by the municipality and landscaping remotely.

The flat is quaint but entirely satisfactory for us. We'd stayed there before and liked it very much. The kitchen is well supplied, rooms are spacious -though the big bed is a bit of a tight fit. Pleasant little yard to sit out in, and the gentle activity of the ferry for distraction.

Our stay at the Granary was exceptional! The building is beautiful and has an outstanding history as does the immediate neighbourhood. We had everything we needed for a perfect week long vacation; it was clean, had a well equipped kitchen, and a lovely layout. It offered comfort, peace and quiet, wonderful views of the water and the Glenora Ferry, exceptional restaurants just a few minutes away and of course several vineyards nearby. We even saw a vintage “Turtleback” fishing boat as it returned with its morning catch at Point Traverse, a half hour away!We will undoubtedly be back for more…Michael

We really enjoyed our stay at the Glenora Mill. It is a charming historic property close to the ferry (which I became addicted to watching!) and a great place to enjoy the lake front and all of the county.

My wife and I spent 4 days at this property as a getaway before she starts the school year as a teacher. The property was extremely charming and a pleasant place for us to relax after days at the beach. We would certainly come back!

Amazing and unique stay in this beautiful restored granary in Genora! This place has everything you need for a wonderful get away, the hosts are fabulous, and the location is perfect. Its just a short drive into town, or if you want a quiet day nothing beats sitting by the fire reading, and listening to the water right outside the window. Cozy and quaint! Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again!

This flat had that rustic charm we love. This mill and the area is full of history! Close to town but far enough to feel secluded and away from the hustle. The views and sound of the waves made for a peaceful nights sleep.
Spacious and comfortable!
Enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

This is a large suite in an historic stone grist mill conveniently located right next to the Glenora Ferry (and a short drive to the Lake on the Mountain and to Picton). There's a private sheltered garden with fire pit and BBQ, you can also walk down the hill to the lakeside shaded by a magnificent weeping willow. We enjoyed our stay "on the county".

We loved our stay. The Mill is a beautiful heritage building and we felt lucky to be able to stay inside. Location is amazing, my toddler could spend hours watching the ferry. We had a relaxing evening sitting on the docks and then by the fire pit. Very enjoyable! Thank you for having us!

We had planned a small girls trip and this place really MADE the entire trip! It was right on the water and it felt like we were in the English countryside. The home was fully stocked with everything you could ever need and super clean and beautiful.
We had access to the bbq and the dockside which we walked down to every night for drinks and dinner/snacks. They have a selection of board games and Marcy sent us so many amazing recommendations for wineries and restaurants/bars in the area.
10/10 will definitely come back!

If you love history, unique rentals, interesting architecture and the crash of waves, you’ll love Glenora Mill. We were 3 adults and there was plenty of room. Two of us shared the bed which had good linens. My other daughter stayed on the futon which honestly is not comfortable but she can sleep anywhere. All that you need is provided. Location is fantastic. One day we took the ferry across and drive to Kingston. A picturesque ride. Everyone in PEC was so friendly. Marcy was helpful and not intrusive. She gave us recommendations for restaurants (Inn at Lake on the Mountain and Royal Hotel were meals we won’t forget). The grounds are lovely and the waves lulled us to sleep. Step back in time and enjoy a rental you won’t forget :)

Had a great time at this cute property. Conveniently located right next to Glenora Ferry. Clean and cute. Our only issue was when we got to the location, and followed instructions, we were told keypad would be on door marked "C". We saw several doors, none marked "C" until my husband tore down the ivy type vines surrounding the door, and lo and behold it was marked "C". We are only mentioning this, because if one would be checking in at nighttime, it could be hard to navigate. Host also mentioned there was a pure water machine in unit, however we didn't see one at all, we bought water for drinking, and did speak with tenant in downstairs unit who mentioned water fine to drink. All in all, good trip, great area, great restaurants.
