About this property
The Little Nest! Charming Brookland Parking!
Summary:
Recently renovated and newly decorated, our lovely guest suite apartment in the heart of Brookland is perfect for couples or business traveler`s hoping for a relaxing city experience. With easy access to public transportation and all the major D.C. sights, enjoy our little slice of heaven!
The Space:
Beautifully decorated it`s breezy and bright, and although small, it feels open and comfortable with shared garden.
The apartment has its own separate entrance, your front door opens up onto a gorgeous secluded large back deck area perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, or winding down in the evenings with a glass of wine.
The bedroom provides a sanctuary-like retreat complete with desk area and a brand new comfy queen bed! Pocket doors allow for additional privacy. The bathroom is drenched in sunlight from an overhead skylight and leads onto a walk-in closet area with additional storage space if needed.
Take a break from restaurant hopping and utilize the European style kitchen; it`s small but comes equipped with essentials (convection oven / portable cooktop / coffee maker / mini fridge) just perfect for those hoping to whip up a small meal or reheat leftovers from one of the many great restaurants just minutes away on foot. (Our favorites are Menomale for authentic pizza and Primrose, amazing French cuisine with great wine selection).
Enjoy your dinner whilst looking out onto the deck and large shared garden at the back.
Private off street parking included - a rarity in D.C.!
Guest Access:
The apartment entrance is located at the rear of the rowhome.
The Neighborhood:
Brookland, lovingly referred to by the locals as ‘Little Italy`, is a leafy residential neighborhood home to the Franciscan Monastery (an oasis of peace, built in the 1800`s with beautiful gardens, great place to sit and relax), Catholic University and the largest Basilica in the US. It`s away from the hustle and bustle of the city while only 3 stops on the Metro from Union station, moments from downtown, the mall and monuments.
Murals line the Brookland sidewalks, providing an ever evolving backdrop - transforming the busy streets into colorful exhibitions.
Tour the ART Walk, one of the largest galleries and exhibitions in DC. Enjoy the wonderful, artsy neighborhood with tons of great dining options!
Getting Around:
Buses flank the surrounding areas, and can take you all over the city, but exploring on foot is an easy option as well!
The closest metro is the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Metro, which is a 9 minute stroll from the home, and follows the Red line.
The H8 bus can take you directly to the station in just over 5 minutes. Once you are on the train you are just 2 stops to Union station where you can walk to the Capitol building and down onto the Mall!! Uber taxi`s are plentiful in the area as well, park and ride are also available at Rhode Island Metro station. 0.4 miles from the house.
We can provide a parking permit with advanced notice, allowing you to park one vehicle on the street without restriction.
Other Things to Note:
We want you to make the most of your stay, so we've partnered with DC’s city tour company See DC Today to help ensure an amazing visit, at the best rate possible! Sit back and relax as the finest, most highly-trained and knowledgeable guides take you through the city, to soak up the surrounding history.
