Great place to stay!
Awesome location right in town. House was super clean and welcoming. We had everything we needed. We rode the Virginia creeper trail and had a great time. Will stay again if we are back in the area.
Stayed in Damascus for the weekend to hike 16 miles on the AT. Cottage was a great location and had everything we needed for the weekend. It was clean and very comfortable.
This home was well appointed, clean and conveniently located to restaurants and bike shops, coffee, and convenient stores. We enjoyed our stay and will strongly consider rebooking for our next Virginia creeper Trail, biking adventure.

Great house
The house was well stocked and really well maintained. It is in an excellent location-right on Main Street Damascus. We rode the Virginia Creepeer trail and booked a ride to the top of the mountain at the Shuttle Shack. The Shuttle Shack is right next door to the house!! We would definitely book the house again!
Nice house and very good location; the only issue - ants on the kitchen counter. The host promptly delivered ant bait; however, there were still lots of ants when I left this morning.
Size of home was small yet okay for us. In regards to location, We enjoyed being able to walk to businesses we needed and to walk about town. We would have preferred more attention to details with the cleaning of this property.

Hi Christine, we have passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:We are so disheartened by your feedback. We use local, professional photographers to make sure that the listing photos correctly reflect the property, so the features and size you see on the listing are accurately advertised. The cleaners take pride in making sure that the cabin is cleaned upon your arrival. If you had concerns about the cleanliness, bringing it to our attention would have helped resolve the issue. We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for your feedback.
We enjoyed our stay here in Damascus. Nice little house in a great location. On the main road so a little noisy during the day but not bad at night. There were some ants in the kitchen but we dealt with them as we saw them and I let the property manager know so they could deal with them before the next guests arrive. Overall would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent customer service
My stay started off with me requesting an early check-in, which Anya promptly granted. When we arrived and I couldn't find a way to light the gas grill, one text message to Anya resulted in a lighter stick being delivered within the hour, and I knew we were in for a good stay!

We LOVED this little house! Damascus is such a FUN place for us - we love to hike and don't like the busy cities. The house is located ON the Apalachian Trail. Damascus is one of three cities that the trail actually goes THRU the town. We just loved the front porch and the back porch. The kitchen in the house was lovely though we walked into town for most meals. Great location. Highly recommend.

Great Location
Pros: Great Location as it is within walking or biking distance to all the bike rental places and Damascus Diner. It's just steps from Shuttle Shack (highly recommend). Loved having the front porch, great for people watching. Loved having covered parking.
Cons: If you are a light sleeper, the street noise may bother you. If you're a heavy sleeper, you'll have no problems.
The property was just as described in listing, and as reviewed by others. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The property managers responded very quickly to our request for a sponge and hose. The house is on the main street (as are almost all of the vacation rentals in town), and after reading reviews, I packed my Loop ear plugs because I’m a light sleeper. I had no trouble sleeping; slept very soundly in fact!
Great place to stay for the weekend. Had everything we needed and then some. Kitchen was stocked although we only had coffee. Definitely would rent again.
We had a great stay. Clean and comfortable. The road is a bit busy during the day but we had no issues sleeping at night. Also some good people watching from the front porch. Would recommend the homemade biscuit sandwiches from the gas station across the street.
My husband and I enjoyed a nice little break in Damascus. This little cottage is cozy & clean. Just a short little bike ride and your on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Also, nice being within walking distance of several eating places and bike rentals in town. The road out front is busy, but manageable. Will visit again!
So this property is right off the main road so if you’re used to 100% quiet it probably isn’t for you, but we didn’t have an issue at all. We booked bike rentals at the shuttle shack (100% recommend them as well) and it was only two buildings away from the house so we were able to walk. The house had literally everything we could have needed including a sound machine and linens/ dishes/ paper towels. My kids went through all the games and LOVED the yard!! We will definitely stay here again next time we come! :)
Very good location. Walking distance to Creeper Trail and river.
Property was as advertised.

The place has everything you need to spend a week in the rural town. We went there to enjoy the bike riding on the Virginia Creeper Trail and hiking in Appalachian Trail. With the guidance provided in the house, we also tried the fly fishing trip and enjoyed it! Definitely will come back again and explore the rich culture of the Virginia Mountain life. There are plenty of firewoods on the backyard. We were planning to build a fire on the fire pit and enjoy the mesh mellow. But it was raining at night and we were too tired in another one. It would be even better if there are chess set provided. My son was into Chess but did not bring one with him this time. The house is next to the highway and may get noisy sometimes. But overall there are not much traffic there. We also had to cross that to go to the down for dining and activities. The bedrooms does not have much space to hang clothes. The linens are plenty and feel brand new. The next door across the street is a hostel and may get many cars parked on the side.
It was perfect as we were in town to ride the Virginia Creeper and surrounding biking and hiking trails. The house was really comfortable plus ideally located for walking in town.
